Not bad in terms of cut speed. As has already been stated, my concern with them is how they'll handle the work over an extended period of time. If you can't afford a brand name saw, sure, one of these is better than nothing. If you want a cheap(er) saw for work and can replace the parts yourself, then I can see the Farmertec being a viable option. If something breaks, replace it with an oem stihl (or husqvarna, depending on what model you buy) part, and you most likely won't have to worry about that part breaking again any time soon. Personally, I don't think I'll buy one, but they have their purpose. They're a cheaper alternative to some very expensive saws, and if they work, they work. That's all that matters.

As a mechanic . I did notice a decrease in rpm on the blue farmertec saw halfway through the cut ! To a train ear you will hear this ! .... question now you will have to ask yourself ! How will this saw hold up to that stihl in the long run ? Is it worth the savings buying the blue farmertec saw ? 🤔

Most people out there would rather have the real Stihl rather than 2 of those blue things. Even the people pushing these generic saws if no one is watching would do it too, we as humans place a lot of value on what other people think. In the court of public opinion the real saw will not lose any value, but probably gain some. As Craigslist starts to be flooded with these Chinese mcgillacuddies the value of the real thing will go up
@@justinhiggins2210 depends, I mean, I look at costs, for example: living in italy, nowdays, is pretty common to find a stihl, I mean one of the models that they clone, at a very good price; 2 weeks ago I found a genuine stihl ms200t used in good shape, on fb marketplace for 260 €, while here the g111 costs 350 € with bar and chain. Obviously even if the stihl would cost 400/450€ I'll go for it, instead of going for the 350€ brand new g111. But when I had my first ms381 clone back in 2013 (still working btw), I paid for it 200€, instead of 1200; if i bought a 660 clone back then, I could buy 1 for 250 euros, instead of 1600 euros of the real ms660; so in this case I'd rather go for the clone, also because consider that living in Italy means that you can get a meteor cylinder/piston kit for 180 euros and a stihl carb costs 80 euros at max; so even if you spend 250+180+ 80 for the clone, you have a VERY, VERY close quality product compared to oem, for 500 euros, instead of 1600, wich roughly a third of the price. So my answer is not probably what you expect, obviously if the price gap is small I'd rather go for oem, even used if in good shape; but if I can save 1000 euros, wich is roughly half of my salary (per month), I'd rather ho for the clone upgrading it. A chainsaw is not an armani dress, that you have to flex eith it in front of other people; it's a tool to get the job done and even if you wanna flex in front of other people, you can buy the stihl labels easily on ebay, put them on your clone and almost nobody will be able to recognize the fact that it's not genuine just looking at the saw from mid distance, but I'm not that kind of guy.
@@justinhiggins2210 also, I fully rebuilt a genuine 660 of a friend with a meteor kit, so I had the chance to fully disassemble it and reassemble and I can tell you that the quality of the meterials is pretty similar, except from very few differences in minor components, like for example oil and fuel caps, or sometimes (not always) carbs (and of course the motors, but nothing so dramatic) and carbs, if you go for zama wich is made in china as genuine product, has a cheap price anyway. So knowing the differences betwen oem and clones, except i find a good used stihl, I'd always rather go for the clone, changing these few weak parts; i generally go for branded tools when the difference compared to cheap ones is big and when you struggle getting assistance, or parts: for example I have a fronius tig welding machine wich costed me 5k, but it's worth it compared to other machines in the same range of price and chinese welding machines are not an option since here nobody will repair it; so I just try to use my brain and choose the best option for me, obviously I can fail and sometimes I do, but I don't just go for brands, like a drug addict with heroine you know..
Not enough to convince me to buy a clone. I run saws everyday professionally and dont have time for short lived crap. The clones that the cheapo loggers buy for the hired help are always in the floor at the saw shop 3 or 4 at a time with a bad crank or jug bolts stripped out or some other odd problem. Then they sit and tell me how great they are while they are unloading another pickup load of them to be fixed. I just laugh and carry on using the same saws ive had for years.
To be fair, give a greenhorn a Stihl or husky without proper training and there is a good chance those saws will also end up in the shop. These clone saws are a bit hit and miss, if you know how to work on them and inspect them for defects they are great for the price, but if you cut for a living then of course your going to pay more to know everything was properly made and checked before you bought it.
Some of the critical parts replaced with better precision parts and you have basically the same saw. Let's face it, most of these global companies are outsourcing their production to China and India. Now then, call their customer support and you get to talk to one of those countries. Chinese production and precision is getting better so what are you really paying for? Answer, advertising, slick marketing campaigns, public appearances and so on, which all costs money and that all gets passed onto the consumer. Do you see any $100k pickups with holtzforma painted all over the side? So, people get schmoozed into believing that a product is superior. I have seen the engineering in stihl saws and many of them have flaws that will cause the saw to fail. It is almost as if stihl wants the saw to fail somewhere down the line. I know a lot of you are brand loyal, but so were Harley owners.

Most people in the real world probably don't understand that with the same money you spent on a stihl ms880 you can have 4, or 5 of those blue things.
