I've made lotttsssss of cookie recipes, this really is the best cookie I have ever made. The dough stands up but is still chewy and not cakey. I added some espresso and peanut butter chips. Perfect!!!
Just made them and they are perfection!!! Thank you for such a good recipe! Mine came out just like the picture 😱 That just means that you gave us perfect directions 🙌🏼 Thank you, Liz!!
This is the best recipe I found. I literally am letting my chocolate cookies chilling now. I used another recipe. This was my first time making Chocolate cookies, so I just now realized how much the cocoa powder dries up lol. You're tips were so helpful. Thank you!!
@@SpongeBob6166 okay had to make sure lol I did the same I was afraid it will spread a lot. It kinda had a weird aftertaste fresh from the oven but I think it’s because I added a tiny bit of dark chocolate cocoa powder because I ran out but after awhile when it was 100% cool it tasted sooo good!
Wonderful recipe and tutorial! I love baking and was looking for a double chocolate cookie recipe and came upon your video. I don't usually watch tutorials as I can follow a recipe very easily. Something about your demeanour made me watch the whole video. I have always sifted the cocoa powder with the flour and other dry ingredients. This was a game changer. I used less sugar (3/4 cup of each instead of 1 cup of each) as I like less sweet cookies and the chocolate chips were sweet too. I even left them to sit on the counter for 30 minutes like you did before baking and they cookies turned out beautifully! I made these for my son and his family as they have a busy household and September is particularly busy with both parents being School Administrators and they have two busy boys in school and doing extra curricular activities. I had also made chocolate chip cooks, salted Caramel cookies, peanut butter & chocolate squares, a lemon blueberry loaf and froze them all and sent them home with my son to add to their freezer. I will make these cookies again and was thinking that dried cherries might be a nice addition instead of the chocolate chips. Thank you! I am now subscribing to your channel!
Oh my, oh my…..I know that this is an old recipe but still couldn’t stop myself to share how much I like it and to thank you. Easy to make, not very sweet and just so rich in flavor…These cookies are awesome!!! I experimented a lil and added roasted almonds to some, others had roasted almonds, some with almonds and tinny marshmallows (following the suggestion you made to another person), and a few stayed plain; must say all versions tasted great!!! . Funny thing is that they are so rich and full of flavor, that having one with some coffee or milk will cover your chocolate craving for the day without making you to eat the whole jar. Just keep them in my freezer for my next fix. For a decadent dessert or special occasion I suggest to serve two of these beauties with some vanilla or almond ice cream to make the must amazing ice cream sandwich.
This recipe is the best! I have baked this over 5 times and all came out perfect. Even after freezing the leftover dough and baking them the next day, they come out so perfectly crispy! This video gets a 6 thumbs up 🤤
Wonderful!!!! They came out great!!! On my second batch I also added Starbucks coffee (2-3) tablespoons and it is also awesome!!!! Great combination 🥰 Thank you!!!!
Request there is These cookies that I saw that are chocolate chip and have marshmallows in them ( I think there where called hot cocoa cookies with marshmallows) could you make something like that I would love to make something like that for my kids for Christmas
These cookies are amazing! I added peppermint morsels and crushed candy canes on top for a festive flare and I couldn’t stop eating them. They are soft, chewy, fudgey, and irresistible!
These cookies are really good for anyone wondering.. My little brother requests them all the time. I usually don't comment on any of these things but yea I just had to. These really are very tasty and pretty easy to make😁
Ok I made these cookies and I added caramel bites and topped it with flur de sal for salted double chocolate caramel cookies awesome everyone loved them!!!
THEY’RE THE BEST!!! it taste just like a brownie in cookie form! however, the chocolate chips make it a little too sweet so i just skip that! supper good!
My wife cooks a similar recipe. A thicker / bigger cookie that's chilled and then baked with the bottom having just enough "crisp" to hold the cookie together while the rest of the cookie is very soft with molten chocolate chunks ... Best cookies ever :)
This is really the best double choc chip cookies I have ever had. I have had plenty lol. I only wish I can make it a bit higher but really amazing. I am hooked!
I made this, it was soo good. Going to do it today. Actually my husband asked for it again. Thank you. Especially about the tip of keeping it in the fridge or outside.
I made these tonight and they are beyond amazing!!! The dough came out extremely thick like bread dough though…the only thing I did different was brown the butter and used dark cocoa powder instead of regular. The cookies didn’t spread at all so after 10 min I took them out, manually spread them to the size I wanted then put them back in the oven for 3 min. They were PERFECT!! My fiancé tore them up lol. Next time I’m adding espresso and caramel 🤤🤤🤤
Because Dutch cocoa has a neutral pH and is not acidic like natural cocoa, it cannot be used in recipes that use baking soda as the leavening agent, which relies on the acidity of the cocoa to activate it. Rather, Dutch process cocoa can be used in recipes that use baking powder for leavening.
I love you so much! Your videos make me smile. All your little quirks and mannerisms- you're shining your light by just being who you are! Thanks for sharing your gift with the world🙂And your sweet Avalon is so precious💕 Can't wait to bake these double chocolates today for my own family ❤
I made these last Friday and the came out so good. I made a Halloween edition by adding some Halloween M&Ms. I tasted the dough first before making them and it didn’t taste that great and was concerned about when they got done they would taste like that but they tasted so much better. I’m gonna make a thanksgiving and Christmas edition of these down the road as well. Also I do need to get a stronger blender because the one I used to want strong enough. Other than that. They were delicious. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us. ❤
Oh my goodness, these cookies are amazing. I really am so bad at cooking and baking but these required little effort yet were delicious. My jaw dropped when I took them out of the oven. I feel like a masterchef :)
These are the best cookies!!! There better then any other recipe in my opinion ;) this is probably my family’s favorite (and my) recipe that I’ve made!
I was skeptical putting the cocoa powder in the butter and not in with the flour.. but these cookies are amazing. They're chewy, have a crispy egde and are perfectly sweet! 😁👏
This is the best process. If u want to use this recipe for brownies- heat the butter and add the sugar to it and stir it for 5min on low, then add the chocolate , vanilla and then the egg, then 1 1/4 cup flour and bake at 375F 12-25min depending on size of batch and thickness of batter. Just when you smell the brownie turn the heat off, knife should come out clean pull out of oven if a crumb pulls out- let the heated pan cook the remaining time. Trust the process.
Totally AWESOME - these are the best cookies I have ever made. LoL... Your recipe and tips made that possible! So Thank you. Thanks for taking the time to record. edit and upload this and all your videos.

Hey Sugar Geek. You are so awesome and so are those cookies. Proof is in your daughter's reaction. I'll make these today! Thanks for posting this nice video :)
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us Liz! Quick question, is it possible to swap out whole wheat flour for the all purpose flour? Or would it negatively affect the texture/baking time of the cookie?
Hi. When I mixed the cocoa powder with the melted butter, the mix was too thin in consistency. So when I added sugar to it, it just wasn't mixing. Where do you think the problem is? I used very hot melted butter. Was that the problem?

Can this recipe be used to make super thick, big cookies? Can I increase the size of each dough ball and bake to achieve that?
If I brown the butter would I use a little more since the water bubbles out of it?

(If it's negatively, I can't tell - some people enjoy the texture of whole wheat. I do too, but not in cookies 😜)

can you add less sugar into the cookies?
