By Chanticleer of San Francisco- Picture from their "Portrait" Album, and they own the copyrights to all of this, I am merely posting so that we may all enjoy their amazing music.
My high school choir as well as 9 other choirs nationally got to work with and sing Ave Maria with them my senior year of high school in San Francisco and let me tell you that's the most emotional moving performance I've ever been a part of with that many voices singing a religious piece in a professional concert hall! It was an unforgettable experience!!!
have followed this group for 25+ years ... I'm not sure how anyone could not believe in a higher power than man or believe in the heavens after listening to music like this!
The language is Latin. The Hymn is actually the "Angelus". When Catholics were Catholic, the prayer was said at 6am, noon and again at 6pm. The English translation is "The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary and she conceived of the Holy Ghost" followed by the Hail Mary prayer -then "Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it done to me according to Thy word" -Hail Mary -and thirdly "And the word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us" followed by a third Hail Mary.Harvard Glee Club also sings this.
if you think this version is beautiful, you should hear the recording from their "our hearts joy" album! you'll absolutely love it, it's on itunes and youtube
Also, does anyone know if they are singing the higher soprano parts down an octave? It seems like it should be higher if they are doing the full version.
Anyone if they are doing the 9-part version or one of the smaller versions? I'd like to work with this as an audition piece, but I don't know which to look at. If anyone can answer which of the 3 arrangements by biebl they use, it'd be awesome

Chanticleer is one of my favorite groups! Who can sing it better? So beautiful- like Heaven will be

One of my favorite songs, performed by the best of the best! Awesome!
There are so many renditions of this classic, but this has to be one of the best of all time.

if you think this version is beautiful, you should hear the recording from their "our hearts joy" album! you'll absolutely love it, it's on itunes and youtube
@Eito87 Thank you for that information. I didn't want to buy $90 of music only to find I bought the wrong one(s).

The composer is Franz Biebl
My choir is doing this arrangement! :D
@finchen1967 its for 7 voices. 4 part choir and 3 part call back. thats what my score says.
Also, does anyone know if they are singing the higher soprano parts down an octave? It seems like it should be higher if they are doing the full version.

Please could you tell us who the composer of the arrangement is?
