Affliction main here. It's a myth that Aff is a hard spec to play. Wowhead is right when it says most people consider the spec to be hard but the rotation is actually easy and smooth as butter. It's also a lot less dynamic than other classes' rotations meaning once you learn it you learn it. DoT management in general can still be a pain but that is really the only 'hard' thing about it, making sure your important DoTs don't fall off and you refresh them at the right time. Destruction Warlock is easy to pick up but as far as I know they still have to worry about PuG tanks pulling mobs out of their rain of fire. The Havoc mechanic also requires a bit of skill to get used to as it's not based only on logic but also instinct. And in the beginning of expansions they often do really poor damage (like D or F tier damage) but hopefully that will be better in War Within, I don't know.
@@Muddyowns Aff or Demo should be fine. I would just avoid Destruction. At least for awhile. It always is so weak at the beginning of expansions when haste is low.
Pretty solid list... I think Mages are going to be doing really well and the evokers look interesting. I really think the BM Hero talents suck by in large. On separate issue it is nice that some classes got really nice visuals for the hero talents and the rest are stuck with passive garbage.

As a 15+ year Shadowpriest player I am not thrilled with the different type of rotation and play style but I can't seem to give it up LOL. It seems to be lower tier (by experts rankings) going into the War Within but I am going to stick with old reliable.
Also under appreciated the mobility with the PWS and run speed increase , coupled with Angelic feature and you can move at a faster speed for long periods. Plus PWS has a small heal on yourself. You can also levitate and slowfall when bosses launch you. Not sure he got the best out of SP with his testing.
@@Liofa73he clearly doesn't like for classes. Hell I've seen a lot of TH-camrs talk about SP in such a negative light simply because they can't grasp how to play a dot class. I'm obviously biased though because dot classes are my bread and butter, I've always loved them.
Considering the person that writes the SP guides on Wowhead thinks SP is NOT in a good state atm, I would say Kalani is pretty on point. The guide person frequents the official WoW forums and says SP is going to be mid-tier in dps. Feels bad man. But at least we aren't going to be bottom of the dps pile.

Affliction is unironically the best specc right now for multiple reasons, not including that diabolist is actually broken as in doesn't work, obviously its not great when everything dies instantly but in anything that matters its the strongest, and its incredibly easy now
While I've always liked ranged dps, I've never liked playing a mage. Ever! Augmentation is not within my play style. So I guess I go with BM, Ele, and Destro. (which I loved enough to lvl two to 70).
Hunters also bring Primal Rage to the group which is the same thing as Bloodlust/Heroism/Time Warp. It is a ferocity pet ability but since all pets do same damage and most hunters will be playing BM, if there is no one that can cast it, hunters can.
Will be hard to decide, hope demo or affliction lock will be s tier most funn i had. Assa rogue was crap when i tried it in mythic+ and warriors always bring 0 utility
So Kelani have you decided in your main yet? I usually main hunter but I’m pretty sad at how our hero talents shaped up to be and I’m leaning towards mage but BM would be so much fun in Delves and MM is fun to play also
I'd probably push Elemental Shaman up to S-tier, personally. The gameplay feels awesome, as you pointed out, but they bring a host of new things to groups as well. Skyfury being available to all specs is huge, first of all. Shamans can also talent into a number of group survival mechanics, such as being able to put Earth Shield on targets and using Healing Stream Totem not only to heal, but to reduce damage taken by Frost, Fire, and Nature damage after being healed by it. They also have some general group utility, albeit a bit weaker than others might bring. For example, Wind Rush Totem, one that a lot of groups love, the OG Bloodlust, and Tremor Totem are some unique abilities that they bring to the table. They also get unique mobility in the form of Spiritwalker's Grace.
I disagree with the Affliction Warlock position. I started playing it as a newb a long time ago and was told "don't do that one it's too hard". Now, I have people in my guild ask what buttons to push and how to order everything because they cannot understand how I can get all of my DoTs up on 5 targets without using Vile Taint. LOL. Practice. The last dungeon I ran through (which was for an event because I hate dungeons) my guild member told me I was top damage. I don't run any add-ons (never have) and I just usually run around in the world helping others if I can. I was happy that I was "top damage" for about 3 minutes. LOL. That's how long the dungeon was.
There's a giant difference between easy to pick up and play and master. BM hunters are NOT easy to master. Sure, a somewhat easy rotation, but your utility is up there with warlocks. There is so much you can do in every situation and if you don't you will simply not be a viable pick for group content. I've played since 2004, hunter is my main and I've hardcore raided mythic on all classes. Fury warrior is the easiest to play by far followed closely by ret paladin.
Now I see why I hate these videos that rank classes by tiers. Before this one I watched 4 other videos that said all hunter specs needed attention and love, and on those videos they said affliction warlock is S tier and doing great (maybe too great), but then I see this one and afflic warlock is placed in C tier...Like WTF. These streamers clearly put classes where they feel....NOT based on numbers from logs, dungeons, and raids.
Wow are people irked at this. I know people come to these and look for general power rankings so you can dive in to the first patch and blast but if you actually watched the whole video he goes by more feel and gameplay than tuning. Dont get upset!

How the job plays is more important in this tier list. Dps balancing isn't done. Obviously Fire will get adjusted and when it does the kit and gameplay is still S tier.

I'll be real, I'm kinda glad some of the buttons got cut from BM.. some of them were just ..kinda traps given that you'd have to legitimately be a math god on the fly to judge if one was better or not to use over KC or barbbed shot, to the point that you literally had maybe 2-5 GCD per minute spare for other shots.

Unless you're doing mythic raids or keystone speed run events it literally doesn't matter what class or soec you play, they're all viable in the vast majority of content. The only people who will complain are those who are vying for that 3%~ DPS increase to push very hard DPS checks.

I hate the fact that Aug has become mandatory in most end game content. 5 specs had to share the tank slot. 6 specs had to share the healer spot. 25 specs had to share 3 dps spots equal to 8,3 specs pr spot. Now Aug takes up one spot meaning 25 specs have to share 2 spots, equaling 12.5 specs pr spot. That just isn't fair. It was hard enough for DPS to find a group before the introduction of Augs.
Because i saw the hunders and i saw that you play Night Elf don't forget (all the NElfs) the Shadowmelt........it's like Fake Death.....it doesn't help everytime but it's better than real death......try it.....

War within is gonna be a blast. I'd recommend playing for at least a month or two after launch, see how ya feel.
For me, lots of new passives are great. As it leads to fewer new powers to have to press on your bars. Also, I'm lazy.

I think you underappreciated Shadow Priest. I do believe that the button bloat is real though and is a problem down the line..

As an all time hunter main (since TBC), this is the expansion that I retire my hunter in favor of mage.
Lonewolf got cut on half was 10% it's 5% now
luckily trigger finger gives you a 25% attack speed buff to kinda make up for it

As hyped as I was for Voidweaver, I'm just not a big fan of Shadow's gameplay. Mages sitting pretty going into TWW (dps balancing aside).
I'm going to main Frost Mage in War Within, a first for me maining a FM.
I think I'm gonna main mage just because all 3 trees are so cool and interesting, so can always switch around. I haven't had a mage main since BC!

Augmentation doesn't feel as much fun. Just easy group invites. You don't get into an effort=reward with Aug.

I hate the fact that Aug has become mandatory in most end game content. 5 specs had to share the tank slot. 6 specs had to share the healer spot. 25 specs had to share 3 dps spots equal to 8,3 specs pr spot. Now Aug takes up one spot meaning 25 specs have to share 2 spots, equaling 12.5 specs pr spot. That just isn't fair. It was hard enough for DPS to find a group before the introduction of Augs.

Idk about that, I haven't seen an augmentation evoker in months.
Because i saw the hunders and i saw that you play Night Elf don't forget (all the NElfs) the Shadowmelt........it's like Fake Death.....it doesn't help everytime but it's better than real death......try it.....
Small tip, when running tier lists use GREEN for S tier and RED for D tier
Easier to assimilate
So they're all boring and half assed except for mage, their favorite child again.
