Cutting the original piece out of a silicone mold.

Freeing the original piece from the silicone/rubber mold is a fairly difficult skill (if done well) This was my first attempt in decades and I am very rusty, but at least there was no blood 🩸😅
Carefully cutting with planning and forethought is very important to make a good prodution mold which will last. Im not planning any mass production, just a few Sterling Silver buckles for me, family and a few friends.
(I will probably take a mulligan on this one, in which I definitely relearned some forgotten knowledge)
Creating nice random interlocking parts, a path for the wax to release without breaking it and proper vents to allow the hot injected wax to take the place of the air in the mold.

Yes but no idea when. I’ll probably make a new mold and definitely film my casting and finishing work. Just no time, too busy.
