Anodizing an aluminum Buck 290 frame with items I already had in the house. 1. File sand and finish your aluminum as nicely as possible that will be the finish under organization. 2. First attempt with new machine. The selector knob is confusing and my flask kinda got stuck which sort of “melted” the silicone ring a bit….maybe because I left the dome in place?? I start mentioning in this video, how if you don’t have a vacuum machine, a method to not have a bunch of bubbles on your molds would be to *paint your molds with thickening small batch of slurry by hand* and then pour the rest of the slurry around it, also a good solution if your waxes have bubbles in them because vacuum...

    This is a great idea but maybe use some other way to attach to blade so you can easily switch to shaking a new can? I’m going to try itI with a house clamp I think. I store all my paint in my garage, and I have too many options, so sometimes I’m mixing one up that hasn’t been moved in a few years and has been exposed to all kinds of temperature. I’ve gotten the job done in the past but not without way too much work. Anyway. Looked online for a hack and here I am. Thanks for the video

    • @ebaysutube
      @ebaysutube 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Short answer, ask HOC. As I mentioned, in the last few seconds of the video, for liability reasons, HOC last time I checked, say they won’t build a chair like this one, unless you already have a prototype. Kind of a catch 22 because it’s definitely not easy to build a wheelchair like this. Among the videos here on my channel, I demonstrate the prototype that I built back in 2012. It was all done mainly with CAD *cardboard, aided drafting* 😉. I made a full size model of the workings and how it would hinge out of cardboard with pins at the hinges to plan ahead for functionality before I made it out of aluminum.

    I have a Lifestand and use it as my everyday chair for the past 14 years. I love being able to stand when I want to. Your custom design is very simple, love it. Does your back rest lock in place when you are standing? I couldn't see if it had something to stabilize the angles. Great job!

    • @ebaysutube
      @ebaysutube 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching! Just saw the question. No, there’s nothing locking my back in place. I’ve worked on a “lock-out” mechanism and had one that broke on the earlier Ti-Lite ZRA prototype, but it’s just trunk balance and I live in fear 🤪of the possibility of a header… this has not happened yet,🤞 so I don’t know how I would end up… A long way over the falls with my wheelchair following down on top of me?? I hope I never find out… Meanwhile still mentally designing an elegant, minimalist way to lockout that backrest…When I do, I’ll definitely make a video.

It’s lightweight enough that my friend could carry it up or down stairs when we needed to. (I can walk very short distances) It was comfortable for me to sit in, I would say if you’re super tall it might be a little cramped. I’m 5’1” and the foot rests were the perfect height. This may not be the best one for long term use, you get what you pay for, but for something that fits our budget that gives me accessibility while we deal with my health this was amazing.

    My experience has been that your better off going in only one direction on the rolling mill because the play or slack in the roller is taken up at the beginning and operates smoothly afterwards but if you go back and forth it’s gonna take up slack before going the other direction and this will cause difference in thickness of your metal. Go one way remove the metal and repeat with annealing regularly
