    Really cool work! Im a graphic designer by trade and I sculpt (among other things) as a hobby. Your approach on the cover was like a breeze of fresh air blowing through a cesspool of bad photoshop and 3D stuff. Im into metal since the early 90's. I really miss the time when even small bands had fully painted album covers. Im not at all against digital media but they provide shortcuts and people most of the time are tempted to use them feeling pressure by the lack of time or proper payment.

    That rotting flesh effect really sets it off...and yes, I like death metal and Carcass. If you're not into metal music that much I would at least recommend listening to it while on long commutes if you have a tendency of getting drowsy while driving.

      Personally I've been into death metal since I first heard it back in 1990. I have a fantasy series of novels (and someday TV/Film/Games/Graphic Novels/Etc) and the big empire I called Megaloth, which is a nod to one of my favorite albums, Scrolls of the Megaloth by Mortification. :)

      @@JoshForeman Wow, thanks for the reply. It doesn't happen often that I get a response from the creator. I probably should have read some older comments and looked up some of your other content. I have since and subbed, you got some badass art man.

    Amazing
    I'm an avid Death Metal listener and Carcass is one of my favorite bands since I was 16 I'm 41 now. This art work I thought it was made in Photoshop seeing it being made like this makes so much more incredible. Thank you for sharing.

    I don't watch your channel often and don't really work in the same mediums as you do but man I really love watching you make stuff. I am currently tinkering with 3D printing (FDM not resin based) but this video alone taught me a whole slew of techniques and materials I had no idea about. Need quickshade and AK truemetal in my future projects, stuff looks rad on printed parts! Also, I never thought about using superglue alone as a sculpting tool. Also, thanks for the artistic inspiration and for making great content.

    With the length of the album being so short the artwork really makes it worth it. I really enjoyed the cover and the art printed on the disc. I had no idea this was done by hand and I gotta say that makes it even more impressive.
    And yes 1985 is a referance to the year the band got together. It is also the intro song on their album surigical steel.

    * The numbers repeated in the chorus are 6026961, if we remove the “satanic” part (i.e. 666) then we are left with 0291, which stands for, among other things, the classification code for the livestock and animal specialties industry group in the United States.

    • @JoshForeman

      Yeah it's rad to share in a legacy like this. Now I've done work for a historic band that also had a cover done by Giger. One layer of separation removed, haha. And while I of course knew OF the band, and love their music, I did not personally know anyone in the band. But I got to work directly with Jeff on this, and he's a lovely chap to work with. :)

    I was wondering about you painting Warhammer 40k. And then you had to use Citadel paint. :D You at least use the paint. Vallejo works really well too. And I like Carcass and Slayer and Deicide and stuff like that. Yes I am a nerd and a geek and am an older woman. Do you!

    • @JoshForeman
      @JoshForeman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! Yeah when it comes to paint I'm terribly stingy for some reason. I still have pots from the 90s laying around so I just use whatever I happen to have on hand at the time.

    hey, why did you decide to get rid of the hot glue webbing? it seemed to go well, texturally.

    stay weird. I dont think it can be helped, however. (:

    I can't stand metal. It's just sped up classical music. The hardest death metal made today is a sissified version of Paganini's violin concertos. Which literally make fingers bleed. A good classical violinist will play through bleeding fingers, nails ripped off, flesh sticking to the threads and do it with a smile on their face while wearing lace and chiffon. When a heavy metal player can do that, then I'll listen.
