  • Hello, in this video I will show you how to make a paper pulp mould. The creation process is lengthy but the mould is very detailed and robust. Also it’s very cheap to make. Apart from paper pulp you just need a PVA glue and any glossy varnish.
This sort of technique created by Charmaché can be used on any fruit or vegetable. The finished items will be an exact replica of an original fruit and the surface will be as smooth or as bumpy as the original piece. The final finish (paint and varnish) can give very realistic results. I encourage you to try your own fruits and let me know if you need any help or advice. More information you can find on our website.
    Good luck
    Peter

This is a great idea for creating a mould to cast your favorite fruits. Now I can try doing some apples and oranges this weekend. Have a great day. Cheers!

Thanks for visiting and your comment, good luck with your project. You can also try silicon moulds too as they are much easier and quicker to do 👍

This is very similar to my machine, except that mine is a small automatic machine. It is included in the works I published. If you are interested, you can take a look.

I can’t see what materials you’re using. Do you have a list?

Thanks a bunch for sharing this mold making process. I was able to make a mold following your video. That's awesome. Can I use a dryer on the first layer?

Can you recommend a water based alternative to Vaseline for this? Because oil based stuff gradually makes paper disintegrate

Hi, I use vaseline and have no problems. Mould is protected by waterproof varnish.

Is that an oil based gloss or water based poly?
