Hi There All , Hope Alls well , Super video of your park ups , The sea was so lively and looked Amazing , Nice views you had from your window , and a nice bit of wind you had to blow the cobwebs away , so Thanks for Sharing ,Take care All .
Super shots of the waves showing how powerful the can be . You encountered some very strong winds this time, must have rocked you to sleep at night. Thanks and take care.Byyyeee 🚐👍
Thanks very much.😊 Both lovely spots and we went back to the second one on the way back down. You'll see more of the place on the next video but a really good spot.
You'd really like Ballantrae I think cos it's got a bit of history too which you'll see on the next video. Even the layby was good. The layby had nice views, loads of birds life like oystercatchers etc. Too windy and wet for us to film them though unfortunately. Got benches etc too and a cafe.
The parks ups looked nice. You could literally hear the power of the sea on the video, the sea has the most amazing natural sound. That sped up video of the passing clouds was superb, the clouds looked really low too. I wonder how the shells got onto the grass, maybe the birds picked them up to eat the contents.
Think it was from the oystercatchers as there were loads of them flying around, plus curlews and other birds in the farmers fields. It's a good layby as it has picnic benches and boards about the wildlife you can see, and a cafe too. Ballantrae we loved.
As usual lovely music chosen to match the views perfectly 🥰. Fabulous rollers there and all the way up that coastline in South Ayrshire when the weather is wild. A great drive as long as long as the wind isn't whipping you across the road!
The waves were amazing as you saw when you were both there. The video wasn't meant to end the way it did, we did an ending with us drinking that lovely gin off Alan, but Karl lost the footage that we mentioned you both in. His phone has a habit of deleting stuff it's not meant too.😢
Good to hear lol. The layby had a cafe there too and was a nice spot. Loads of birdlife too, but the tide was in so they were all in the farmers fields. We'd stay again.
Us too, so choppy and the wind was so strong, but just amazing to watch. Hope you three are well. Got some catching up to do while we're on the kids drive. School holidays soon so staying put til they've all gone back lol.
@@roaminginraymond oh yeah I forgot about that, think we are heading over to Aberdeen way, then down, we are all well thanks and so glad we decided to do this.. Take care 🙏👍🚌
The park ups you stayed it looked great. Lovely views mind you the sea looked like it had some energy! Lovely shots. We must try a park up at some point. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Thanks very much. Yeah, the sea was well choppy at Ballantrae. Strange at the layby cos it was super windy but the water wasn't super choppy. Both lovely park ups though.
They were great. The first had loads of birdlife but it was just too windy to film. The second we loved. You could see the waves from the motorhome cab. It was a lovely, friendly place.
It's worth a visit to make your way north instead of going inland. And there are some beautiful places in Dumfries and Galloway, and it's always much quieter than the Highlands too.
@@roaminginraymond We mostly go on the east coast on my husbands ancestors trail! We have been over to the Trossachs though, but not Dumfries and Galloway.
@@maryfennell9672 that sounds interesting. Love a bit of family history. We did some of the east coast Highlands and went to some lovely places when we did our 8 weeks in Scotland. We want to do more of the east side though next time we go.
High winds is probably the worse thing we don’t like about living in the motorhome 😱 Got bog roll….can’t remember the last toilet I saw with tissue in it…bring your own over here in Spain 🤣🤣 Mind you it’s a struggle to even find a public toilet 😩 Sound of those waves….intense and immense energy 😍
You've had some proper weather there. Loved those low flying clouds too. And yes, that lay-by did look quite appealing as long as I didn't have to walk far from the van. Nice one.
Lol, you could sit on the bench and watch the birdlife so no need to walk far. Unless you wanted something from the cafe that's there of course. Think you'll like the park up at Ballantrae too. You'll see it properly on the next one.
I drove through Stranraer, I did not feel very safe, although I stayed the night at same place as you. On the main road from Dumfries I was amazed at how many houses .farms on the way, count them on one hand. Looked like is shopping needed would be few hours round trip.
The layby was just after Stranraer heading towards Cairnryan but around a 20 minute walk into Stranraer town. We'd stop there again. Yes, there's some very remote places. Probably get delivers, I would. I hate shopping anyway lol.
Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed it. Yes, someone has informed us they are scallop shells. Just as interesting seeing them as never seen any before. Wonder how they got there.🤔 We initially presumed it was from the oystercatchers or curlews as there were hundreds of them there, but as the tide was in, they were in the farmers fields over the road.
hello, if you are still in ayrshire and near the A719 check out the electric brae. just over a mile south of Dunure, the road turns sharply inland, Having turned inland, the road descends along a quarter mile stretch of road known locally as Croy Brae. Or does it? Stop in the layby that's thoughtfully been provided by South Ayrshire Council (which is as well: until it was constructed, people used to stop in the road to do this). Once stopped, release your handbrake. You get the very odd sensation of starting to roll uphill, back towards the corner and the sea.
We've been told about this place before and I have it marked off, but we haven't been yet and we're not there anymore unfortunately. Will have to try it next time we go though as love stuff like that. There is a pub in the Black Country called The Crooked House. They roll a ball along the rail there and it looks like its rolling upwards, when of course it's rolling down. Great how the brain can get so boggled lol. Definitely on the list for next time we're in Ayrshire.😁🏴
Nice one. They were Edible Scallop Shells. Not sure how they got there, perhaps my Gulls or people chucking them out. Desmond is getting some welding done so we are grounded again.
Love the video, Can you settle an arrangement for me The wife thinks your accent is black country, And myself i think your from Birmingham Thanks big al 😉
Your wife is right 😁 I'm Black Country, but from Bearwood in Smethwick which borders Birmingham. Some Black Country folk think Smethwick shouldn't be classed as the Black Country because its so close to Brum. And if we ever said we were "going to town" we meant Birmingham, where as my friend who was from Great Bridge meant West Bromwich. Karl is a Brummie though. Where are you both from?
