Melody is the best female rock vocalist since Ann Wilson. Not that she sounds anything like Ann, she actually has a better Metal voice than Ann. I only compare them both being world class vocalists and we don’t get those too often in rock or metal. Female vocalists like Melody come along so rarely, she like one in a trillion.

Please give Melody another chance, she will get under your skin. Forget comparing her voice or trying to think of whom she sounds like. This young lady has the best voice in Rock or Metal. This family the Cristeas, have been performing more than ten years together. Their Romanian immigrant parents taught these kids music and homeschooled them keeping them from awful outside influences. They have many covers that are absoloutly amazing, but wait till you hear the originals, mind blowing.

All the kids in the band were born and raised in America. They lived in LA until the end of 2020, when they moved to Georgia. Looking forward to more reactions sir. Have a good one.
Thank you for the reaction to a great independent family band. They have 20 originals and all of them rock. The covers they have done, have gone viral, and reached the original artists ears. While they do not try to mimic or match any ones vocals, (being herself) those artists applaud Melody's own style that she has on them. Dio's family has nicknamed her MeloDio, and she just recently did a guest lead on a few encore songs at a concert, for Black Sabbaths Drummers new band. Covers got them started/noticed, but the originals are the bread & butter. They throw a new cover in once in a while, when the fans vote for them, like Master of Puppets. On their channel, click Chain of Thorns, or Queen of hearts playlists. All of those are originals. Pick anything!
This band is on fire . They are exactly what the world needs . And while they are young they honed their skills on the Santa Monica pier for 5 plus years drawing large crowds . You can see many you tubes of them .
I saw this band at Santa Monica Pier California few years ago , they used to carry their own instruments , they used to play for tips, they are getting better and better every time ..

If you listen to more of Liliac’s music, you’ll find out that this is her normal voice. The range and the distortion are her style. Females vocalists like her don’t come along very often. Having that grit and gravel in her tone is her natural sound. Melody never tried to sound like anyone except the Ronnie James Dio style she has. Her vocals are the gold mine of this band.

Musically they are tight. They do add their own little things here and there. They pay homage but make it slightly their own. Keep listening. A friend of mine that is into Country says she sounds like Bonnie Raitt on their song Sail Away. However, if you want to hear something true to the band, check out Mars live in Cummings GA. You get their music, her voice and a live experience. Also, Melody has done videos with Appice, Sarzo, and Batio that you can find on GoDPS.
Liliac (lilly-ack) is a band you must dive a bit deeper into. This band covers Mettalica, Dio, Ozzy, Iron Maiden Janice Joplin, and even Jefferson Airplane, and they are excellent. They do have their own catalog, check out "Nothing" or "dancing in the Dark", or the live performance of their song "Mars". The vocalist's voice is gritty, and yes she has incredible pipes (and she's still a teenager), Check out their cover of Joan Jett's "I hate myself for loving you". I think if you take that dive, your gonna come out with a better impression of this band. They cover "Master of Puppets" and I didn't care for the vocals on that (I recognized them as being good, but it didn't work for me), but she nailed "Enter Sandman", so I get what you are saying about not caring for the vocals, although me not being a very big Megadeath fan, I actually prefer her vocal over Mustaine's.
Mustaine is a great guitar player. Who would want to bother mimicking his vocals, especially a female singer?. Liliac does excellent covers, paying proper respect to the original while putting their own mark on it. If this is your first reaction, then you just don't have enough information to have a very solid reference to go by. Perhaps you will check out something else of theirs.

Liliac is incredible, their take on classic hits is unique. Their style is called vampmetal Liliac is Romanian for bat( vampire), their dad is from transylvania. I've never known anyone with as much natural talent as these siblings. They do covers great but their originals are even better. Give them another shot try mars or sailaway.

To say that Melody's vocals didn't fit Dave's original vocals tells me that you have forgotten what Dave sounded like in the earlier years of Megadeth. He had a much higher pitched vocal than he does now. Go back and listen to the original and then compare it to Liliac's version here, and after a few listens I would almost venture to guess that you may end up preferring Liliac's version. I say that as a Megadeth fan from 1987. Megadeth got me into heavy Thrash Metal in 1987 with the Peace Sells album, so I'm not just biased towards newer stuff, I can just appreciate awesome talent when I see it, and Melody and the rest of the band has as good of chops as any old schoolers.
You are WAY off. Dave Mustaine has a thin weak reedy voice. Melody has a fantastic naturally raspy voice. Also, if she were trying to copy Mustaine, she certainly wouldn’t pick a sound completely different from his. She is a fantastic singer and this is her normal voice. Dave Mustaine is a weak singer just getting by. She is 100 times better. She is Janis Joplin or Melissa Etheridge. A once in a generation talent. Come on, man! 🙄 Also, the band's name is not Lilac, it's Liliac, which is Romanian for "bat".

I appreciate your comment, because the OP and some of the other comments had me wondering if I was the only one that disagreed? I am 52 years old, and a long-time Megadeth fan. But I loved Megadeth for the great instrumentation, despite Mustaine's vocals; I always thought Mustaine was a mediocre singer, and like you, considered his voice often quite thin. Melody's vocals in this tune are preferable. Sam is also a very good guitarist, but I did sense some slight hesitation in a couple of the solo passages for this song. I did love the addition of the pinch harmonics. Overall, I thought this was a very solid, good cover.

I like this interpretation of the song. Nicely placed pinch harmonics and emotionally expressive vocals. Guitarists are equal to the task. Well executed drums. Good all around. Not sure about the shot of the synth, though. Synth is not very Megadeth.
I think you need to listen to one of their own songs. I think Sail Away, Nothing, or Mars Live will show you their talent. Like you said, you have been a Dave Mustaine fan too long and probably cannot see anyone else doing it right. Give them another look, you will not regret it.
Absolutely No disrespect to megadeth but I think they did it better than the original. It was heavier and she didn't sound more aggressive than Davey. I didn't make this decision lightly. I listened to both over and over and just love liliacs vamp version a bit more. I loved how they put thier own twist on it and didn't just mimic the original. I still love megadeth and all the old school rockers like iron maiden, dio, ozzy etc...

You got her normal vocal style, no she’s not as aggressive as Dave but not many are.
If you want to know the true style of her voice i suggest you listen to Sail Away by Liliac (pronounced LIL-E--AC) it is a original song of theirs

Liliac is incredible, their take on classic hits is unique. Their style is called vampmetal Liliac is Romanian for bat( vampire), their dad is from transylvania. I've never known anyone with as much natural talent as these siblings. They do covers great but their originals are even better. Give them another shot try mars or sailaway.

To say that Melody's vocals didn't fit Dave's original vocals tells me that you have forgotten what Dave sounded like in the earlier years of Megadeth. He had a much higher pitched vocal than he does now. Go back and listen to the original and then compare it to Liliac's version here, and after a few listens I would almost venture to guess that you may end up preferring Liliac's version. I say that as a Megadeth fan from 1987. Megadeth got me into heavy Thrash Metal in 1987 with the Peace Sells album, so I'm not just biased towards newer stuff, I can just appreciate awesome talent when I see it, and Melody and the rest of the band has as good of chops as any old schoolers.

You are WAY off. Dave Mustaine has a thin weak reedy voice. Melody has a fantastic naturally raspy voice. Also, if she were trying to copy Mustaine, she certainly wouldn’t pick a sound completely different from his. She is a fantastic singer and this is her normal voice. Dave Mustaine is a weak singer just getting by. She is 100 times better. She is Janis Joplin or Melissa Etheridge. A once in a generation talent. Come on, man! 🙄 Also, the band's name is not Lilac, it's Liliac, which is Romanian for "bat".

I appreciate your comment, because the OP and some of the other comments had me wondering if I was the only one that disagreed? I am 52 years old, and a long-time Megadeth fan. But I loved Megadeth for the great instrumentation, despite Mustaine's vocals; I always thought Mustaine was a mediocre singer, and like you, considered his voice often quite thin. Melody's vocals in this tune are preferable. Sam is also a very good guitarist, but I did sense some slight hesitation in a couple of the solo passages for this song. I did love the addition of the pinch harmonics. Overall, I thought this was a very solid, good cover.

Don't forget about Steve from "The Police" jamming with them, and including a jam session on the BBC documentary of his. Parents are originally from Romania (moved to U.S. in their early teens) and the kids in the band are born and raised in America.
I like this interpretation of the song. Nicely placed pinch harmonics and emotionally expressive vocals. Guitarists are equal to the task. Well executed drums. Good all around. Not sure about the shot of the synth, though. Synth is not very Megadeth.

I think you need to listen to one of their own songs. I think Sail Away, Nothing, or Mars Live will show you their talent. Like you said, you have been a Dave Mustaine fan too long and probably cannot see anyone else doing it right. Give them another look, you will not regret it.

Absolutely No disrespect to megadeth but I think they did it better than the original. It was heavier and she didn't sound more aggressive than Davey. I didn't make this decision lightly. I listened to both over and over and just love liliacs vamp version a bit more. I loved how they put thier own twist on it and didn't just mimic the original. I still love megadeth and all the old school rockers like iron maiden, dio, ozzy etc...

You know I have not met any artists that when they talk about someone covering one of their pieces, that they all say that they are not interested in hearing what they did, that the cover artist needs to make it their own! If all you want to hear is Megadeath then stop listening to covers of Megadeath because none of them are going to be Megadeath.
