    My first Acura was an ‘88 Legend L in Bahama Gold Metallic. I drove it up to 240k miles before I was rear ended and it was totaled. It was so reliable and had zero electrical issues. Love and miss that car!

    Congrats on the new addition to your garage! That 1st generation Legend is in great shape overall. A neighbor had one in this exact color growing up. So cool to see this survivor still on the road. Looking forward to the next chapter of this car’s life!

    That is spectacular. My mom had a 1st gen Legend and that V6 has always been my benchmark. The sound of the starter took me right back.

    Super nice! I probably have the only 1988 Honda Legend with leather and heated seats in western Europe. Imported it from Switzerland to Germany. I know four other cars but the edm sedans never had leather before 1989 the KA4. Switzerland had the same version as Mexico but with the edm headlights of course. The color is the same as yours but full painted and the seats are dark brown like coffee. It has now 99600 Kilometers on the clock. Best is to drive at night with that green gauges. Love it.

    My grandma’s 88 legend sedan was the same color, options etc. This legend gave me a passion for legends. Also thank you for the birthday shoutout.

    My neighbor got an '88 for FREE--from the elderly lady whose lawn he maintains. It went to his first daughter, and now in the hands of his second. I told him that was a great gift that he got, and he agreed.

    Oh ya, this makes me homesick. I had the same car in color and everything, except my interior was much better. It was a babe magnet back in the day. Lots of room! I had two 10" subwoofers in the trunk. Love it! I spent a lot of time on those honey comb wheels.

    My father bought one of these used back in 1992. He was looking at cars on the Lexus of Stevens Creek dealership lot. There was a Claret Red 1988 Legend 5speed which he ended up buying. We had a 1986 BMW L7 and the Acura was supposed to be his commuter car but he enjoyed the car so much he drove it all the time.

    Oh man! 1st Gen Legend! I went to the dealer in Seattle to drive one of the 1st Legends in the fall of 1986. 5 speed w/ cloth! What an amazing example! Congrats, Tyson! Appreciate your work and your channel as a Honda enthusiast for 42 years, and an Acura enthusiast since 1986!

    The First legend I owned was this exact model and color. A 1988 legend L it was so clean but definitely not as clean as yours I loved that car. 🔥🔥🔥 Tyson you have all the best legends! No rust and that two tone! I had 17” tsw rims on it back in early 2000. My first acura.

    I’ve got an 89 in as good condition if not better as trim is still fantastic/badged as a Honda down under - love your video/vehicle. I’ve never seen another one on the road

    Ah the airbag 88! My aunt had a new 87 with gold bbs wheels. That’s how she bought it off the lot new in 87. Exterior color similar to yours

    It reminds me of the 88, 89 Accord’s LXi just larger and faster. Back in the day I had an .89 LXi 5spd 2 door coupe👍

    I remember my dad's 89 Legend fully loaded like it was yesterday. The only drawback of that car was the leather seats. The car would be perfect if it were made with Mercedes-quality leather.

    I remember trying to purchase one in the mid 90s but was turned down because I didn't have good enough credit, instead they was trying to sell me a Ford instead 😅, I said to the salesman if I can't have the Acura legend I'm going home, luckily I was able to purchase a 89 Toyota camry drove it for a few years and finally in 2001 I was able to purchase myself a black 1996 Acura TL loaded up, now in 2022 iam driving a 2009 Acura TL SHAWD with 197,100 miles 😀 ❤ 😊

    My 88 was one owner and only has 82k miles. I put a new water pump and timing belt. I had to have a special gasket made for the distributor because it was leaking oil and I could not find one anywhere. My interiotimes. I

    Beautiful Legend! I always liked these. Honestly I was scared to buy one though I'm sure you know the automatics were plagued with transmission issues.

      I haven't heard of automatic trans issues for this generation, and luckily this one seems to be solid! But it's definitely in need of a lot, so I'm not sure how exactly I will proceed with it. Thanks Jason!

    Now this is what I'm talking about!! My dad was like me, he loved cars and was always acquiring new ones. We back to back got an '87 Legend LS like this one identical except it was blue. Soon after their introduction he bought the new Infiniti Q45 and Lexus LS400 to live with the Legend LS.

    Beautiful Legend! Ive never had the pleasure of driving a G1 sedan. I know this is an automatic, but have you ever driven a 5 speed G1 sedan? im curious if there is a different Gear ratio compared to the 5 speed coupes.

      I'm pretty sure the 5-speed G1 sedans and coupes have the same gear ratio. I recently owned a G1 coupe manual.

    Thats the car i just bought!! Now its a 89 but somebody put a junkyard motor in it from a 1988 Acura legend. I just took it to fix the oil leaks. Hopefully it can look somewhat decent soon
