Oh God can't believe that scams can be of this level. I have heard a lot of scam frauds but this one is to an another level that even a well aware person can get into their trap. Thanks a lot for making a separate video on it. Lots of love ❤
This video might help and save so many people from such scams who would be new in UK, especially students. If I move to UK, or anywhere else outside India, I'll definitely keep this point about scams and fraud in my mind so as to avoid face any unnecessary issue.

You cleverly handled the situation and thank you for sharing your experience . I always disconnect the phone call when they tell me they are calling from bank and try asking my personal information . Then I call back to bank and ask them if they have called me.I almost got scammed once when I got message from SIM card company saying my data will be stopped if I don’t make payment . I followed the link , put my card details then realised I pay via Direct debit and it’s already been deducted

I went through a similar experience in the US but even scarier....Got a call from someone posing to be from the sheriff's department and told me that an arrest warrant was issued for me as an abandoned car was found with drugs, cash and lots of illegal stuff and when they ran the number plates on the car it was linked to my social security no and also the bank accounts being used by some suspected criminals were linked to my social security number...then they said to safeguard my assets I need to transfer all my funds into another account so that it is safe and the government does not freeze my assets....got the shock of my life and was almost in tears be cause the whole call was extremely intimidating and scary 😱 I was smart enough to discuss with my dad and he told me to hang up the phone as it a scam... Need to be extremely careful as the scam in the western countries is of a different level....one can easily be made a fool of...
Perfectly summed up Arjuna and must say great presence of mind to shoo away scammers right in time. This one of the most common scams in UK at present and lot of people fall for it as it catches them unaware altogether.
I also got scammed in somewhat similar manner in India. They imposed as the bank officials and we lost amount more than 91K and we could not claim our money back because we willingly gave them although in our mind we were safeguarding ourselves. You are really lucky and blessed by God to be able to save yourself and your family. Thank you for spreading awareness.
True Arjuna , as I was also trapped in a similar kind of scam and lost a big amount . This happened in Shillong Meghalaya where I lived. I did not get back a single penny as its a big gang behind all this. Thank God you're saved. 🙏

This is very common in the UK. It's been happening since 2020 post lockdown. I worked for UK Bank and these are very common issues which we dealt everyday.
This happens in India too. Faced a similar situation.

The same scam happened to my sister in the USA. She lost $5000 in this scam. Literally, the same thing happened to her. They made her transfer the money to Bitcoin which she was unaware of at that time. They created a stressful situation like some illegal transactions are happening from your account so transferring the amount into a new account will keep your money safe. She was new in the country so she fell into the trap. I urge people who are going to or residing in some other country to keep themselves safe. Don't take any step in hurry or under stress. They will create a situation of pressure and anxiety that you will feel perplexed. This is very very common nowadays in foreign countries.

Thanks Arjuna for making us aware about the issue. Really shocked to see that even something like this is possible. After watching this I realised that even well educated people can be tricked into giving up their money using the method that those scammers used. I think UPI in India is a great method of payment as they don't give your bank details and the transactions are secure. UPI should be adopted by other countries.

My cousin in India also got scammed with this same scam and he transferred 100k (as you said they have all information, same they had whole information my cousins date of birth and all )to that scammer.... Till now he didn't got his single money back...

I think you will not fall for that again but just better to inform ( as your in uk ) that you will also receive many phones from HMRC that are scammer which will tell you that you have been filed taxes and if you don’t clear then on the same call then they will call police and file a warrant against you , i was also almost scammed so just letting you know 😄
And also from your sim card company too so i just hope you stay safe from this scammers 🥰

He was telling me to first credit the amount....
But the day before i had watched ur video....
Which was vry hlpful for me😊
Exact same thing happened to me here in US with fake Walmart call on cancelling my package. Scammer called me about the scam and tried to cheat me . Very common and have to careful!

Hi Arjuna never ever open/close/transfer any funds on being asked by anyone even if they say they r calling from ur bank always double check by calling the bank urself ur lucky to have sensed it at the last moment - an ex banker
What I've learnt from this is whenever you get a call from a helpline number of a bank telling you there has been a fraud in your account, always tell them that you will call them back. What people don't realise is that helpline numbers are for customers to call the bank, the bank NEVER uses it to call customers - hackers probably mask the number so that it looks like it's the banks

same thing happened with my sister...same story and they made it to shop from saudi shoping website NOON for amount of 200000 PKR from her card. We are from pakistan but they shop from saudi arabia... still its dispute with bank.

This kind of scam is quite common in uk. We usually immediately delete such kind of messages. The instructions are never to click any link and never to give any detail of your account - no matter what. But thanks for sharing your experience. Stay safe, stay happy.
