    Would this lead into embellishments too? I am trying to understand how to compose the right way for bagpipes.

    So a grace note is to open that hole? , in this case high g...not to play the high g note quickly between transitions ? ...

      Thanks for your q. The answer is yes but only when playing slowly while you learn it. As you speed up to normal tempo is will sound more like a quick g note between transitions if that makes sense ?
