  • @thelooser39
    @thelooser39 6 ปีที่แล้ว +23

    Its not.... the Troy Kopp 1998 comeback vs Saskatchewan was much more of a miracle. The Bombers had a record of 0-10 and were down 28-10 to start the 4th quarter on their own 1 yard line after stopping the Riders 3 times on a goal line stand (Their second goal line stand in 5 minutes, really should have been 35-10 if Rider had not fumbled into the endzone on the drive previous to the one I mentioned. ie could have actually been 42-10) . Troy Kopp came in for TJ Rubley, had never played a down of CFL football in his entire life, and ended up putting up 4TDs in the fourth quarter to win 36-35. Despite being 0-10 and only 23k fans (only about 20k left to start the 4th), I have never seen the old stadium jumping like that in my entire life. One of the all time great moments of my sport watching life.

    Watch that TD replay again. I think Harris was down before the goal line. His knee appears to touch with the ball outside the plane of the goalline. Probably not overturned because it was not "definitive" that the wrong call was made. In the end, I was cheering for the Bombers, so they squeaked one.

    Does the clock stop for the refs to re-spot the football after every play?

    • @chrisbegetis3414
      @chrisbegetis3414 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In CFL after the 3 minute warning the game clock only starts at the same time as the play clock. It’s a bit longer than after they place the ball because the play clock is only 20 seconds and once the play clock starts you can’t change any players unless you call a timeout so the referees give a bit more time for teams to make changes before starting the play clock. Sometimes it’s hard to hear because of the commentators but when the referee whistles while they are Huddling, he is telling the time keeper to start the play clock.
      Before 3 minutes of a half the clock is always running unless it’s an I’m complete pass, in that case the game clock would start at the same time as the play clock.
      Sorry if this is confusing but I tried to explain it the best I can

    • @montrealsports29
      @montrealsports29 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrisbegetis3414 A couple of corrections regarding what you wrote. Prior to the 3 minute warning, the clock also stops if the ball carrier runs out of bounds. In that case, the game clock starts running again when the ref starts the play clock for the next play. After the 3 minute warning, the game clock only starts at the same time as the play clock if a running play or a completed pass play finishes with the player tackled in bounds. If the player runs out of bounds or it's an incomplete pass, the game clock only starts when the ball is snapped on the next play.
