I'm getting a lot of comments about how much silver lions I lost a lot. The answer is none. For almost every vehicle, unless it's a premium one, you get 10 free repairs. I took advantage of the 10 free repairs in my video so the repair cost did not happen.

Half the team would spawn bombers and all the targets would be bombed in 4 minutes ending the game with basically only six people scoring points. Also the speed with which you could progress up a tech tree with bombers was mental before the nerf. A buddy of mine basically did half the Russian tech tree in an evening once he got a decent bomber.
It would never be op, people just can’t take on bombers bc they’re too stupid to do so. You see in the video, if the plane is too fast and is not sitting directly behind like an idiot the turrets have a hard time slewing to keep up. This game simply panders to bad players and gives them crutches.

Yeah, that ridiculous SL repair for US bombers basically made them unplayable from an economic standpoint. Easily some of the best bombers in the game, but Gaijin slapped that ridiculous repair cost on them.

@@StickTheGlue Just a note, it was quite rare for b17’s or other bombers to take much damage and return to base. Bomber’s were generally very fragile, dangerous and vulnerable pieces of equipment that would go down easily
They start to become duct tape tier once fighter jets from the Korean War start to show up, as per "up tiered" Mix that with no fighter escorts and it's toast

The B29 is honestly my favorite plane now that repair is only 18k. i love it for how much it feels like a massive, untouchable beast with deadly turrets and one of the biggest bomb loads even if the illusion fades the moment you have to face against any enemy with cannons and your tail and wings choose to detach themselves as to survive the horror.
I stopped playing war thunder like 2 years ago. It was like 60k and players begged for it to be nerfed bc if you destroy all the bases, get the airfield like 1/4 of the way down, you made ends meet, but to make profit you had to land and restore. Players begged for nerf from 60k, they gave us 79k and a beating.

Thats why most people use attack jets in those brs, a4e for example, with the update it pay his repair cost just with one base and now is a very good grinding vehicle

Really wish bombers were more practical to use in RB and sim. I play fighters a lot, but sometimes I just want to slow down a little and chill a bit. Sim can be great for that, until 80% of the playerbase decides to focus specifically on you for “ruining the game mode” by playing the objectives like you’re supposed to Used to really enjoy the B-57 in sim until repair costs, poor BR brackets (which are mostly fixed now, ig) and the toxic players drove me away
Imagine just flying low altitudes just chillin and pretending to be flying this plane in irl and suddenly 2 jets shoot u down and the repair cost of the b29....
The worst part about the b-29 isnt the repair cost it's the fact that you get uptiered with jets that have 20mm to 30mm miniguns then right after you have to pay 50k if it was fighting like 5.0 to 6.0 prop planes it wouldn't be trash just gain enough altitude and you'll be aight.
I can find bombers fun sometimes but is just such a pain to play them, it looks fun honestly, just your normal average heavy bomber doing heavy bomber things, but the repair cost its just so insane and the same goes for the TU-4's. the repair costs are just so high that i dont even want to play them, and they are two of the most Iconic planes from WW2 but like, jesus, its so unfair

Tbh, I'm also not that good and I either don't hit anything or hit something not important. I guess suppress them first then try to hit them. It also depends on your ammo types sometimes and the number of gunners you have.

But not only the general bomber performance, mainly damage model is bad, their ingame balance is all over the place. When you play B-17 you mald about german-russian bombers that at same br have heavier bombloads, are faster, and often have much deadlier turrets. And then you look at like Japan which at similar br have even worse bombloads, through the whole bomber line. Ig it's because bombers being irrelevant in matches (depend on teams and thus rely on fighter planes stats) means that they don't get changes like other planes. And you get... That.
@@dr_birb Surprisingly, the b57 is pretty good at defending itself. I've seen the b57 out climb and out maneuver a few jets and kill them. So that could be an option.
@Mason Murchison I used to play the b17g a bunch. I would basically just try to make it to the airfield while the a4s and a2ds wiped the bases. Usually ended in death for sure but the gunfights were often fun
I really enjoy playing tu-4 btw, such a nice plane if you know how to use it. 1 kill guaranteed every game plus base bombing. It is basically invulnurable to missiles when engines are at 0 throttle. Only thing that scares me are rare guys who use unguided rockets.
A great vid overall, nice to see some content from smaller creators but just wanted to give a bit of constructive criticism. With your style of editing I feel like it would be complemented well with some kind of music instead of just hearing the sound effects of the game, it's just my opinion however. Being a bit new to WT (about 350 hours for a 9 year old game), I just don’t understand why either they would set repair costs that high, or keep the bomber in the game at all. If you’re going to punish players for using it with the reward payout being less than the risk every single instance, why keep either? I mean, don’t get me wrong. I’m learning that Gajin doesn’t know how to balance their game and their famous “monkey paw” patching but it just doesn’t make sense. The T-26E1-1 has a higher repair cost than pick two 9.0 or higher tanks. The T-95 and B-24 are no different. It’s bonkers.
i love play heavy bomber, but the only way to play properly is to create a new tipe of map, objective, and play against ia, and remove the stupid height limit for bombing, its like 6km from the ground

If this thing was at let's say 5.0 or something, then the repair cost would be justified, considering it has 20mm and 13mm plastered all over that thigg, and would obliterate any 109 that came within range
The American b29 has 50 cals but the tu-4 and the chinse tu-4 does haves 23mm cannons. But still, the engine of the b29 would be very effective within 5.0 and would probably encourage space climbing as well as their huge bomb loads. But yeah, its hard to balance these kinds of vehicles.

When I hold my fire, they usually are no longer on fire and also im trying to supress him if he is coming back. Also he prob would not have enough energy to come back but it is better to be on the safe side.

Repair costs should just be removed. They help the player in no way and physically drive people away from content.

Yeah, I think they lowered the b29 repair cost by like 5k silver lions but raised its br. It is a 7.3 now instead of 7.0.

They fricken nerfed the b17 into the ground. By the time I turn all my turrets to the attacker, I'm already dead.

8000 meters is like the standart MINUMUM altitude for all my bomb runs

How do you hit with the gunners? Whenever I control em, doesnt matter where I aim, at, below, above, enemies have no hitbox and I die in 2 sec.

A great vid overall, nice to see some content from smaller creators but just wanted to give a bit of constructive criticism. With your style of editing I feel like it would be complemented well with some kind of music instead of just hearing the sound effects of the game, it's just my opinion however. I'll support you either way, keep up the good work!
Thx for your feedback. Yes, I do put music but I couldn't find any music that really fit this video. I do have a helicopter video coming from war thunder which does have music.

28 Days to repair the B-29?? Holy crap, Gaijin is sure giving us sign to not play this game for more than 2 matches, but in the end it doesn't really matter.
I've basically had war thunder since 2018 and i played 5 rounds max in these 4 years

Being a bit new to WT (about 350 hours for a 9 year old game), I just don’t understand why either they would set repair costs that high, or keep the bomber in the game at all. If you’re going to punish players for using it with the reward payout being less than the risk every single instance, why keep either?
I mean, don’t get me wrong. I’m learning that Gajin doesn’t know how to balance their game and their famous “monkey paw” patching but it just doesn’t make sense. The T-26E1-1 has a higher repair cost than pick two 9.0 or higher tanks. The T-95 and B-24 are no different. It’s bonkers.

i love play heavy bomber, but the only way to play properly is to create a new tipe of map, objective, and play against ia, and remove the stupid height limit for bombing, its like 6km from the ground

If this thing was at let's say 5.0 or something, then the repair cost would be justified, considering it has 20mm and 13mm plastered all over that thigg, and would obliterate any 109 that came within range
The American b29 has 50 cals but the tu-4 and the chinse tu-4 does haves 23mm cannons. But still, the engine of the b29 would be very effective within 5.0 and would probably encourage space climbing as well as their huge bomb loads. But yeah, its hard to balance these kinds of vehicles.

When I hold my fire, they usually are no longer on fire and also im trying to supress him if he is coming back. Also he prob would not have enough energy to come back but it is better to be on the safe side.
