Having read all of Diana Gabaldon's books and short stories I don't think they could have found two better lead characters than Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe. Not only are they remarkable actors they're both truly good people who give their time and energy to worthy causes.

Outlander is one of the most outstanding exciting and enticing TV series that I have ever watched all the actors are amazing but Claire and Jamie steal the show. I’ve watched Outlander through and through, around 25 times. I started watching it when season 3 was half way through airing. I started at the beginning and by the end of season two season three had finished, think I finished it in two days... it’s my all time favourite thing on tv/ my phone. I think it’s perfect to be a tv show than a movie. You just wouldn’t get the same amount of detail. I last week I finished the show again and started it again at season 1. I just don’t get bored of it... season 3 I find quite slow moving... not my favourite series but I love it all!!

I'm so glad they filmed in Scotland and not here in New Zealand. A lot of NZ, especially the South Island (where I am) is very similar to parts of the Scottish Highland, in fact, one of the cities in the south, Dunedin, is referred to here as Little Edinburgh. But...the show has showcased the absolute breathtaking, heartbreaking beauty of Scotland. What a country. And that's coming from a proud Kiwi. No....it needed to be filmed in Scotland and thank fook it was.
Sidenote: Graham Mctavish (who plays Dougal Mackenzie) lives here in NZ - Central Otago

So yes I am very very glad that now at least the filming is being done in mostly Scotland message it is so beautiful and has such a unique history.

They never said Scots Gaelic; they simply said ‘Gaelic.’ While it’s most correct to just refer to Irish Gaelic as ‘Irish’ or ‘Gaeilge,’ many people in the English-speaking world still call Irish simply ‘Gaelic,’ as it’s the more well-known between Irish and Scots Gaelic, which can also be called Scottish Gaelic or Gàidhlig (but good luck trying to get people to call it by its endonym). So, saying that Caitriona speaks Gaelic isn’t entirely false. They should have specified and said ‘Irish Gaelic’ or even just ‘Irish.’ I personally like to refer to the Celtic language of Ireland as just ‘Irish,’ and that of Scotland as ‘Scots Gaelic.’ Google shares my preferences as well. Now, what would be totally wrong, and I have seen (and cringed at) this before, is when people refer to Welsh as ‘Gaelic.’ 😬 🤦‍♂️ 😩

I would also recommend reading the books. If you enjoy audiobooks, then you'll love these! The narrator, Davina Porter, does all the different accents/voices/etc. The books also have more detail. Diana Gabaldon has a definite knack for painting a picture in your mind. It's like you can see/hear/smell everything. It really makes it easy to escape into the story. Brilliant!

So much fuss is made over Sam and how incredibly sexy he is. Well, he is certainly beautiful but the thing that makes him sexy is the character which he creates with his acting skills. Now to my point. Graham and Tobias are also incredibly sexy. Graham actually has numerous silent "reaction" shots where he just let's you know who his character is and he is SO hot when his character isn't being a jerk. Tobias makes you love him and hate him with a passion as Frank/Jack. Then, he makes you want Jack to have a secret good side!!!! So I celebrate all of them and thank them.

Give more perspective, if you can, what men think of it. I agree with what you’ve said, it has it all, just curious how men see the relationship between the two leads side of it. I loved the history and have gone back to learn more of that time, some very sad, and plan to read the books also. The way roles have changed, how life has evolved, government rule, how America began, etc..The Battle of Culloden and British rule of Scotland really affected me. I didn’t know anything about the series prior to watching and have loved all angles of it. The romance side hit me harder than I thought it would, it’s so beautifully captured and it made me wonder what men think.

Outlander is my all time favorite show! And although I LOVE Jaimie, of course! I think Katrina makes this show. I didn't love her in the first few episodes, but the first time I saw her get dramatic with her acting, I could see that she was a truly great actress. I was surprised by the villain, how bad he was, and in the way he was bad. It was even hard to watch some of it. How often does can we as an audience get surprised anymore? And did I say that I love Jaimie! Of course I love you Jamie!

I think Diana Gabaldon fantasized Jamie with an appearance of young Liam Nieson/Sean Connery while writing her books and it just stuck to her . But hey, actors are ppl. PPl age. That would be creepy to see 82 y.o.Connery acting for 22 y.o.

So glad they didn't pick Sean cannery or Liam Neeson to play Jamie, it would have ruined the entire show...there's no way they'd be believable enough to pull it off, they'd have been way too old to play young Jamie and would have needed to use WAY too much cgi to make their faces look young, and those transition effects don't always work very well yet anyway...and I REALLY don't want to think about EITHER of them in the love scenes with Claire! You need someone young, fit, well built and plain HOT to pull those scenes off properly and only Sam has the goods to pass as the King of all men! 🥰

To be honest I gave up on it after season 1. I got in expecting a historical / action drama and since it is set in one of my favorite eras of history I got hyped real bad. And it included Scotland which is a big plus in my book. Always been a fan of Scottish culture and history. But without previous research I came to realize this series is an overrated romance where the aim is love and not history. Which is fine obviously but just not my cup of tea. Got really disappointed to be honest.
And on another note, in this video it is said that they cared even about unimportant details. I noticed in several instances that, for example, they used modern knives instead of the replicas that would be used in that period.

why would anyone wonder what's under the kilts? Of course the guys and gals are super attractive but do we always have to take it that far? I mean, it is not even the audience, it it the interviewers, magazine etc. 'speaking' for an audience who doesn't care what's under. We see what's on top, that's great! Who needs more (on tv)!? And why can't they keep a respectful distance to the actors and writers!? We are getting way too close to everyone out in the lime light. Think about that OSSA! You may report ok most of the time but you have also done pretty poor reports with - on top of that - bad narrating voices (female) that could make ppl shudder. All in all this video is a good one, in my mind.
