Bob, I would like to thank you for all the videos and tips. I recently bought a King Hauler with a MCU package. I would have really struggled with this build if it wasn’t for your great videos. On a side note, I also bought some muffin tins. 🙂 I learned about your channel on Adams Playground. Please keep the videos coming. Best to you.
I really like your build videos you actually show it being built and enplane what you are doing. I see so many so called build videos where they show a picture of each step and then play some ridiculous music.
Hi Bob fantastic job I just built Tamiya Scania in the last couple of weeks. Been having a nightmare with the MFC, come across your videos on TH-cam and thanks very much excellent explanations all the best Bob stay safe
Hi thanks for informative video, glad you explained what dual rates was. I have seen a video someone setting said but no explanation as to its purpose.
been waiting ages for a vid showing how to install a MFU. I have one waiting to go into a Scania. Knowing your vids this will be great. Will watch with interest. thanks
i've built a few of these but only one with the automatic support legs for the trailer, however it doesn't want to work as it should....guess these are good times to go over your equipment ^_^ Nice informative video.
Awesome videos help me out setting up radio which i bought a FLYSKY FS-16 simular radio as yours for my Scania .Noticed i have to set gear select switch SWC to position 2 so i get lights /hazards . Thanks for the help
bill, you were correct about the use of the gt power kit to use on my grand haulor and i returned it. thats what you get for trying to save a few bucks. i plan to get the mfc-01 unit. do you know if i can use a radiomaster mt12 pistol grip radio to run it. the rx and radio have plenty of channels.
You can use any radio with the SFR-1. If it has SBUS it is very easy. Read the manual online to see if has SBUS. If it does not then choose something else. Also your avatar is the eFlite Viper Jet. Love mine!!
@@HobbyconceptsLLC thank you bill. that is my backround. if you want to know anything about air rc, im your guy but ive gotten the itch for surface vehicles and have a couple of crawlers and road vehicles to start ny collection. the tamiya semis just intrigued me and wnated to build 1 because thats half of the fun, and i love their detail. i got a radiomaster mt12 radio because i just wanted 1 radio to use for all my vehicles like my spektrum ix20 flies all of my planes. im just ads about that and its a pet peave of mine lol. thats why im asking about using that radio. it does suport sbus but i know nothing about sbus. yes i am used to an air radio and can make it do whatever i want but the mt12 is a very versatile radio that uses edge tx and elrs and can be programmed to do infinite things. its just a higher learning curve than im used to. thats why i ask about that radio. i understand its kind of a newer radio so if you ever make a video on using that radio to control trucks id be all in. until then i think il reserve myself to running my truck the normal way with servos and an esc and have no lights or sound yet. until a video like that comes out by anyone and learn more ill just use it like that but its almost done and ive watched many of your videos for guidence and thank you for that. i try to use your site for certain parts and stuff as much as i can. thanks again and if you need help with rc planes or edf jets just shout me out. im not a video kind of guy but fly for fun mostly cuz that whats it all about.

I have received my King Hauler and have found the servos that have been supplied are "OMG" units which are clearly different to the FUTABA ones. Can you give me some guidance as to fitting these ones or do a tutorial video on these ones please
Hey Bob, Great videos, I'm getting ready to start this build and have been reading about the trims on the radio that they need to be anilog and not digital.. Is that true and why? I'm currently planning on using my Spectrum dx5c which I'm pretty sure is digital or do I need to purchase a different radio just for this truck? If so what radio do you suggest that's anilog, most are digital now. Thanks for your time.

Started to watch these MFU vids. I am a newb so not very knowledgeable,so can I ask. When you set up the Dual Rates, when you choose 75% don't you loose full travel for normal use? would it not work with normal 100% then set up 125% for the extra functions. I am probably way wrong?
Not a problem because you only set the dual rates for the right stick up/down. The only thing that channel works is the horn sounds and lights so no affect on other functions. That would be true if you set it for say the steering, but with new radios you can choose what channels you want to set it for.

hard to answer questions like this here. Much better to email me. Sounds like you did not MAP the MFC to the radio. You must MAP it anytime you make any change.
You need to put the programming back to the way the radio came to you first. Then follow the instructions that came with it on how to MAP. My email and phone is also on the instructions. If you need programming instructions email me.
I have watched this video of you 7 times and i am having problem with my transmitter radio link AT10. I followed you at dual / rate but it doesn't work, no signal light works, I can only install at shift servo. I see two AT10 transmitters right behind your back, on the rack can you please show me how to set up for MFC-03. I hope to get help from you. thanks
Thank you for your videos they are very informative. How do you feel about the GT power sound and light unit, it's half the price of this but does just about the same.
2 Cell Lipo's will work however the MFC does not have a low voltage cutoff for Lipo's. You should use a small lipo alarm plugged into the battery if you run them. Personally I like NIMH batteries better in trucks. They are safer and heavier and the weight is an advantgae in the trucks.
Think you because i bot 2 lectron por 2s lipo 5200 50c i wanted to know because i didn't wont to must up mfc-01 56511 think you for you help i like to have the run time on my trucks
Built a Tamiya Grand Hauler and used the MFC01 and have a Spektrum Dxs with AR410 receiver. Cannot get the throttle to work at all. Everything works great except that. Does anybody have any ideas?
There is no reason I can think of why your throttle would not work. Double check all your connections and make sure the 3 position switch on the MFC control box is in the middle.
I have a transmitter Radio Link AT10 and tamiya MFC 03 and I can't set up them with together, Cuold anyone in loop help me plaese, I did connect the gear box servo but the light ( signal light, head light, emergency light,..... ) are not work and I don't know why, I try set up dual/rate channel, may be I was wrong something. Thanks
You need to set up the dual rates on your transmitter to a switch. Make sure you have 75% and 100% settings. Then be sure to MAP the MFC unit to your radio.
Hi Bob great tutorial I'm learning alot about my King Hauler from you, I got it at a garage sale and need a battery charger, the antenna on the sleeper is missing, it came with a Futaba skyport 4 transmitter I want to get spectrum DS6, need to know where ti get my missing items thanks Bob 👍 you can find me rcintheworks on Instagram I have a Clodbuster black in my profile pic

DX6E has a center sprung system. Look at the back of the radio... Move the switch and BINGO you have center sticks.

Yes, ask questions anytime! You can also email me direct - address in video description.
Can the MFC sound and function unit handle a 7.4v lipo 2s ? or just stick to the 7.2v NIMH
I run them with 2s Lipo's all the time. Only issue is the low voltage cutoff is not set for Lipo's so you need to not run your batteries too dead.

Have you tried the Savonaut sound system? If so do you know how it would compare to the Tamiya MFC?
Have not tried it.
