Hello from Southern Maine! I've been thinking about picking up a Carry and adding a plow, however, I wasn't sure how it would handle New England winters. Based on your video, it looks like it moves snow pretty well. Between my tractor with snowblower attachment and a Carry with a plow, I think I'd be all set for winter. Thanks for posting this video.
It takes an ATV size plow in the 2" receiver, very convenient and handles like a dream. You have to plow more often (I wouldn't let it get more than 10" before plowing) with a big storm but these trucks sip gas so you should be good for multiple runs. The 4wd plus diff lock has gotten through anything (unless I bottomed out) and the power to weight ratio is fantastic. Good luck and best wishes!
Awesome. What brand of plow is this? I have a susuki carry as well and I am looking to plow with it. Also wondering if the plow hooks up to a 2" receiver or how it is mounted. Thanks!
This is a Black Line plow, it does slide right into a 2" receiver and quick clips for the power. This unit only has a power actuator for up and down (accessible using a remote in the cab), you have to get out and manually move the plow to right or left as needed. There are units where it is all power via remote. I would recommend getting one that is heavier duty in the same size range; as small as the mini trucks are they still have a lot of power and weight and this plow got beat up pretty good over 4 years. During that time I replaced bolts, reinforced the frame with angle iron, and added trip springs. I stopped using it 4 or 5 winters ago in favor of a full size pickup with plow since my driveway is so long and we get a lot of snow in NH. I do miss plowing with the Suzuki, though; aside from the height limitation it was so responsive and I could plow very close to vehicles. And I barely used any gas all winter. Good luck with yours!
