Hello, Iron Woodsman, and THANK YOU for the review. Also, of course, thanks for your purchase!! One of the knocks we get most often is that our garments are expensive. We make the best we can figure out how to make, and we are always 100% USA. Our FullWeight Fabric will vary a little in weight (there is a lot going on!) but should be 18-19.5 ounces per square yard (opsy). Fabric weights are often given in ounces per running yard, but because there is no standard width of a bolt of fabric, if you don't see opsy or gsm (grams per square meter), you don't really know the weight. More importantly, tho, few people want weight for its own sake. Our goal is to maximize performance by choosing superior fiber and spinning, weaving and finishing with excellence as our only goal. Your interest and kind words are most welcome and much appreciated!! --- Ralph (& Family)
hey there WEATHERWOOL GANG! your welcome, and thank you for making this awesome garment that i love to wear, each time i put it on I'm reminded what really good wool and craftsmanship feels like. sending prayers to you and your family.
Greetings from west TN, glad to hear another WeatherWoollie is here in Tennessee 👍👍 I was in Gatlinburg with friends for that arctic blast, snug as a bug in the WeatherWool - All Around Jacket (w/Double Hood), CPO, Vest, ShirtJac, Watch Cap, Anorak, all of it handled the cold easily, it is the gold standard.
Love this video, and I love wearing wool. My favorite piece is my Austrian military winter wool pullover. I’m currently sewing my own wool cargo pants. I’ve made my own leather knee high mukluks, moose hide mittens and canvas anorak. I highly recommend learning how to sew. It’s can save you thousands of dollars!
thank you very much! yeah i really want a pair of mukluks also. and i agree wool is the best . keeps ya comfortable in so many situations. i also need a canvas rak to go over my woolly
man that's awesome! im glad you got one,, yes it's a hefty decision i know. once you wear it for a few weeks you will get past any buyer's remorse you may encounter. haha. just small bit of advice, i store mine in a plastic tote with folded paper on the bottom to prevent moister build up and keep moths from it. i don't hang it up.
I've been on the fence over something like this. Winter has let go here so I have half a year to save up. Definitely going to purchase from this company. Thanks for a good review. 👍👍!!!
you are welcome. you have a year like you said but take it from me.. keep a eye on their stock,, because when fall gets here the color and size you want may already sold out. i like the olive drab, but if i could get another color it would be the lynx pattern in the shirt jacket.haha
yeah, I agree. seems like it's easier to spend 600 bucks on frivolous garbage than something that will last you a lifetime, and made by your fellow countrymen.
