Paula, when I redid my kitchen, I struggled to decide what to put on my countertops, quartz, granite, butcher etc. 42 multiple people. finally, I had one designer asked me what do you do in your kitchen, do you cook a lot, bake, etc. my kitchen is very small, so I had to take that into consideration as to the color I used. I toiled over it for several months, but I'm glad with my decision. The main thing for me was I wanted it to blend in with my color palette, and I was able to accomplish that , as it said, my husband also said we will only do this one time, so get what you want. Good luck.
Paula, trust your husband, every kitchen needs some bold contrast. We just redid our kitchen in preparation for retirement in a few years. Lol we went with dark cabinets and bright white quartz with dark grey veins for the counters. Love our kitchen. My husband did good ❤
If it tastes anything like a Reese’s candy bar it would trigger me to be sure! I’m definitely not a moderator even after six years of maintenance. You both look great and I’m glad you ENJOY-CEd an outting. 🙋♀️☕️❤️🙏🇺🇸
I moved into a house with neutral kitchen but dramatic dark black and green countertops and, while if I had been choosing them I would have been nervous of the boldness... I LOVE them. They do show any speck of dust, smudges or cooking debris (the smallest grain of coffee shows), but it's beautiful and encourages me to keep them clear
Never had an issue with constipation since starting keto. Good to see Ed so happy about his color choice of countertops. I know it’s been hard on you both through all this. But your attitude is great! Thanks for sharing!
I totally empathize with the process of taking Ed out in his condition. I was a 24/7 caregiver for my late (epileptic) husband for over a year before he passed. We lived in a second floor apartment with the stairs inside the apartment. I would have him sit on the top stair and scooch on his butt stair by stair, and I’d give him the walker at the bottom of the stairs. Then we negotiated the two steps on the front porch using the portico column for support, then he backed into the car seat using the walker. But those outings saved his sanity during that difficult time. We’d take drives to the ocean and eat carry out in the car to give him some space now and then. All the best to both of you during this healing time.
I just ordered the salted caramel. I am loosing weight again, by using these shakes as my bridge....so I'm only eating twice a day!!!!!!!!!!!! So is my husband!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!
Bless your heart Ed, you seem to be in such good spirits being injured and all. I am still praying for quick healing, and God's favor in the entire situation. As well as, God keeping you and Paula in a good mental space through it all. Be still, and keep your hope in the Lord!!! He's with you, and he will never forsake you!! 😊
Could you do a video touching on having the opposite issue? I know some folks that deal with the issue in the other (more loose) direction, and they could use some tips. I'll share! Also, you've inspired me to purchase the Milkadamia milk, and I just used it while enjoying a lowcarb hot chocolate. ❤
Hi Alisha, I think it was Dr. Chaffee who shared tips on this that saved me. I cut back on the amount of fats and sweeteners and it has resolved. Good luck on that.
The black beauty will be beautiful and I think you will be very happy with it........because of all the natural lighting you have in that house!!!! A friend of mine picked a wild blue for her kitchen and we all thought, oh no, no way. But it was beautiful and we ended up loving in. Dramatic is a good thing!
A kitchen 'update' is exciting! Granite countertops are a hefty once-in-a-lifetime purchase, and you'll want to ensure you love the color. You and I have very similar tastes. We went with a Santa Cecilia Light in our kitchen which has a mixture of tan, dark gray, black, and speckles of dark burgundy over White cabinets and slate-colored appliances. They say it's got gold (instead of tan), but I don't know if I'd say it's gold. I guess every slab is different, and you want to look at the one you are buying to make sure it doesn't have too much of a color you don't want to highlight in it. In our bathroom, we went with (regular) Santa Cecilia on a painted sage color vanity, which is similar but darker. IMO I think the Santa Cecilia would look good with your cabinets. Pictures of both of these can be found on the internet if you want to look. I love both of them and if I had to choose again, I would probably choose the same. Warning - They hide spilled coffee grounds too well. I think a darker granite would look nice in your kitchen. I can't wait to see what you pick.
I hope I like the protein I just ordered the chocolate and peanut butter plus the collagen. 🙏💰. I want to go dairy and gluten free soon so no more Premier Protein shakes .
My husband didn’t want granite because he thought I would pick out black. He said ok but don’t get black! So it’s a gold and brown with Minimal amounts of black.
I use a teaspoon of food grade DE ( Diatomaceous earth) in my coffee every morning. DE will detox your colon. Always drink plenty of water. It has been a game changer for me.
😆Love your slap happy humor you 2! I was laughing out loud about, "the Lord confirmed it in my spirit" comment. Haha~ hah! Oh yeah, that's a great idea to use granite for the hearth.😊That's exciting to reno/update things~it will come together nicely, that's for sure! Oh and thanks for a Christmas idea of the Wasgij puzzle. 💐🏡💝
Maybe get a cheap black table cloth - like the plastic ones Walmart had for a couple bucks. Wrap one of your counters to see how it looks. It won’t be exact, but might give you an idea.
We have black granite countertops in our kitchen with flecks of gold & brown and we just love it. Yeah, chocolate chips were one of my favorite cookies, but they don't even tempt me anymore. Good for you both. Glad Ed was able to get out.
Thanks for addressing this topic, it answered some questions for me. Also, thanks for the discount code on the protein powder, just ordered some peanut butter. Prayers for continued healing Ed!
Vitamin C works well too..sometimes I’ll take one with a magnesium supplement late in the evening, I do believe salt is a very important element to this mix. Water too…is essential. Thank you so much for your inspiration.
I look forward to your videos every day! Thank you both for sharing your lives with us. I also purchased the strawberry and peanut butter prime protein. I already have the chocolate and vanilla, but looking forward to trying your simple protein shakes as an afternoon bridge to get me to dinner without feeling famished as I transition back to a low carb diet. Strawberry and PB both sound so good! I appreciate the generous discount code! P.S. I don't think I could do the black granite in the kitchen...sorry Ed! :) I have a warm neutral cream colored granite with natural darker toned flecks mixed throughout in my kitchen and I love it! Our bar in the basement has black granite and while I do love it down there, i don't think I could do it in my kitchen.
As I think about it more, you could maybe search google for pictures of kitchens with the black granite with the color appliances you picked and similar cabinet and wall colors. I struggle with envisioning what something will look like so maybe pictures can help decide?
I love granite countertops. That will be my plan one day. It's a big decision. All of it is beautiful so I don't think you can go wrong. Glad you guys were able to get out and run some errands!
Ed, I am going to use "The Lord confirmed in my spirit that I need a German Shepherd Dog" on my husband. God knows I've tried everything else except crying!
Hi Paula. I say you have to be happy with what you pick out for your kitchen. The granite sounds really pretty. Decisions Decisions, lol. I totally get the taking Ed out issue. It is nerve wracking. We are going through the same thing here and having to deal with stairs is really tough. I made your meatloaf recipe tonight. It came out great! Thank you for the discount for Equip Foods. I stocked up on protein powders. Much appreciated. ❤️

I ordered the peanut butter prime protein. Great deal, thanks Paula. I have the Chocolate and vanilla and like both. Made your fat head dough pizza tonight, delicious! Really appreciate you❤
I think the counter top you described is going to be beautiful! I really need to try the peanut butter protein powder. I miss eating peanut butter and I used to eat a lot of it 😊 thanks for the video.
Great video! I ordered the peanut butter protein powder and two other flavors this morning using the 25% coupon code. So glad that you liked that flavor. I’m really enjoying your videos!
Yummy on the shake!! 😋 Thanks for the constipation info!! 💩😂 Do you know what kind of magnesium citrate? Pill form or powder? I can watch Dr Berry if you don't know.
