- A graceful Luna Moth for our "butterfly" series (I realize that a moth isn't a butterfly, but it's visually consistent so we're going for it!). I loved having an opportunity to test out these Viviva Color Colorsheets for this tutorial and I think you will really enjoy how easy it is to paint this watercolor Luna Moth-let's dive into this step by step tutorial!!

Thank you for this tutorial! I have been trying to teach myself to paint with watercolors for more than 2 years. I have watched dozens of tutorials, this is the first time the process really clicked for me. I was really able to understand the water to paint ratio. My Luna Moth isn't perfect, but it's the first painting I can say I am actually proud of. Thank you so much!
Oh YAY!!! This seriously made my day-thank you so much for the feedback, I’m so excited for you!!!
I have tried a few different tutorials for a Luna moth and this one is my favorite! The wet-on-wet method that you used REALLY helped me. Before I tried that method, I wasn't able to get the colors to blend well and they spotted. I did use your template and it turned out so well. I am very new watercolor and drawing has always felt impossible for me. But now I feel inspired to try to learn how to draw so that I don't need to use a template next time. "Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime." Thanks for the awesome tutorial and thanks for providing a template option for beginners like me, but for also encouraging people to learn composition.
Oh I’m so glad you found it helpful!! Yes, that is my whole goal-to teach techniques and help you understand why things work or don’t work so that you can paint anything and craft your own style. I’m so excited for you!!!
Some of the prettiest paintings by the prettiest girls on TH-cam!

I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Thanks for this helpful tutorial! This is also my first entry for this year's Inktober and I used watercolour inks and gold metallic watercolour to paint my moth. Thanks to you it turned out better!

Thank you so much! It was a lot of fun to create
Beautiful! I love that soft greeny-blue you mixed.
Thank you! I was a little nervous about finding the perfect balance between blue and green (with that little bit of “dusty” in there), but I was pleasantly surprised by how simple it was!
Love it! Thank you
It's so beautiful ❤️....you look absolutely gorgeous and professional in this video 🥀....

Could you do one with a Chinese Luna Moth? They are mare friends favourite and I really want to make a card for them
Use more yellow and lose the second set of “eyes” and you should be pretty close!
@@katrinacrouch ah, okay! Thank you!
Please
