I’ve honestly never in my life heard someone in a drag race conversation say ‘Bendela is so amazing’ everyone was disappointed that she chose to leave so don’t pretend it got cheers and applause. She was the same as her season, fake and in character the whole time, that’s why she voted herself off to hold up this ‘I’m so sweet and lovely’ character instead of being genuine.

Considering that in AS2 Roxxxy Andrews was dragged all the way into the finale robbing multiple queens of their deserved chance to win by being favored by her friends, Bendela tapping out as a front runner saving three bottom Queens was like her bringing balance back to the universe.

first of all no one was robbed... they didnt come into the competition with a title and someone stole them it from them. Its like saying someone is ahead of the race but the 1st place slipped and fell and the other caught up and he ended up the last place but we need to give him the medal coz he did very well almost all through out.

I always said that Dela is almost like the Katniss Everdeen of Drag Race. She hated that the rules meant you can only really win by personally eliminating your friends and not by being the best contender in itself and chose to sacrifice herself instead. And although it ended her time on AS3, this massive F YOU to the entire production still somehow solidified her victory in the game. A literal legend.
I love this analogy, you are totally right. I also watch a video about the contract of drag race and is really awful so maybe she wanted also a way out of the system having her own rules which I respect.

Bendelacreme was one of the best contestants ever on drag race. I undoubtedly saw her either winning, tying with Shangela or being runner up to her in all stars 3. Nothing less than that
Dela just found the words many have been looking for for years when asked why Drag Race isn't for everyone. You always hear people say "every drag queen in the country wants to go on Drag Race," but that's not true. Far from it. It's been painful to see some of the truly incredible talents run over by this juggernaut because their art can't easily fit into the perameters set by the producers of this show. It's an even greater disservice that there are club promoters in every state that either undervalue and underpay non-RuGirls or simply don't book them at all because their entertainment budgets are wiped out by the prices the RuGirls require. That said, we can never overstate the reminder that every one of them were just like your local performers before they were hand-picked and made to jump through all the hoops. And when Drag Race has finished its last lap, there will be countless drag artists out there that never got the chance to show the world their incredible talents. Tip them and treat them as you would the "big names."
Ru has a very very very narrow idea of what drag is when drag is anything but. There are so many amazing drag artists in the world that will never be able to utilize a platform like Drag Race because their drag doesn't fit into Ru's world (drag kings for one) or they don't want to enter just to force themselves to conform to that single narrow concept of drag. These artists - drag kings, non binary drag, dirty drag, androgynous drag, "bio" queens, etc all deserve as much respect for their work and their art as any RuGirl who's walked onto that stage. Their hustle is just as valid.

@@everberry51 I know of drag artists from my city (Toronto) that I've seen in person but if you do a search for them, you can likely find their videos online. Dottie Dangerfield, Titus Androgynous, Zackey Lime to name a few off the top of my head. If you do a search for the drag style, you can likely find more on YT.
👏👏👏👏 love this comment. I love the show im a huge fan, but the concept is very misleading and has changed over time. Rupauls drga race should be a platform that can help you THROUGH your Drag career, not the finish line. It should be a way to expose the drag artistry (and it sure did ) but now that is so mainstream it has lost the soul that once had, and now that world of acceptance that was Drag became a war field if your eyebrows isnt correct or if the dress isnt polish enough. We always find a way to destroy nice things. Its a great show, but there s so much more and drag isnt just about rupaul.

As she said it herself it was great television and I believe the greatest television out of drag race yet. I say this because of the way she was on her way to win and decided to take the narrative into her own hands after being done with what she came to do on the show.

so in a nutshell: it was a polite way of sticking it up to the man. lmao. well, can't say I'm surprised tbh, we read the interviews where ben didn't have good things to say about the production. and he subverted expectations. good for him and willam.
I mean Manila was a clear winner and Naomi just sent her home cuz she felt like it. You know if Ben was in the bottom even once she would not have won! It was good for her to end on a high note. Loved the season and Ben was the highlight. Thanks for making me smile and laugh during hard times Ben ❤️

Wrong! Lattice saved Naomi the prior week, so it wouldn't have been fair for Naomi to choose Lattice's Lipstick. Also Monet choose Manila's lipstick too, so Manila was doomed either way regardless who won the lipsync.
When Everyone saw how Manila was gonna save latrice over being fair, they knew she had to go the first chance they had. Plus with latrice being in the competition still, if one of the girls and latrice were in the bottom, Manila would have saved latrice. Soooo Manila never got robber and deff screwed herself

Didn't she already say that everyone at this point knew that Bendela is going to win (I mean... who the fuck wins 5 out of the 6 episodes, halfway through the competition). And I think she said that when Bendela eliminated herself, winning was an actual possibility, since she was already leading just below Shangela, and ahead of everyone else.
Bebe would have never won for way too many reasons. Kennedy's track record was by far the worst out of the top 4, also by a significant margin. And people instead of getting mad that she went ahead to the top 2 over the best remaining track record (Shangela), they decided somehow to turn on Trixie, who has the second best track record.

People are bitter because Trixie didn't win any of her lipsyncs, something that people value a lot. But otherwise she was a clear runner up by the time Bendela left.
Also I dont understand your rationale behind ''Trixie was the pick to when they brough her back to win''. What? She wasn't brought back to anything. She entered the workroom the same time as the rest. And no one thought that she was clearly going to win the season the same way Shea or Alaska was. She had a good run, with some others clearly ahead of her, but circumstances changed a lot and she ended up fighting against the queen with the worst track record that did not have the folllowing behind her to crown her. And yes that does matter. Thats precicely why BeBe would have never won. Just, tragic as it sounds, no one cared.

Bebe was boot nasty that lip synch. Remember, Bebe never revealed her Lip Stick for that lip synch? For the longest time I assumed it was Trixie's name and she wanted to avoid tomfoolery. Now I'm almost certain she did the same thing Ben did on the off chance she won and her and Ben would just both discuss it with Ru. She would never reveal that she had replaced someone's name with Ben's out of respect for him. It changed my opinion of her a lot.

Being completely honest, even if she stayed, I doubt Dela would've won. It was obvious they were gonna screw her over with that jury bs so I think she took the best decision. Dela knew she wasn't gonna win and decided to go on her on terms. Gotta give that to her, she left a winner instead of being used the hype Trixxie's win like Shangela and Kennedy.

ok if dela (she won the lipsync) stayed we know kennedy would be eliminated and morgan is back. next challenge is acting we know dela is a great actor and shangela too so they both get top 2 and shangella re-eliminates morgan. we know trixie is picked so that leaves dela/shangella/bebe nobody wants bebe to win again so either dela or shangella and dela was liked by the others more than shangella so dela is top 2 with trixie dela has a better track record than trixie so she wins. If bebe won the lipsync (rumours says she picked trixie to go home) morgan is back . next challenge is acting dela and shangela top 2 bye bye morgan. now kennedy is picked and with trixie eliminated dela has the biggest chance to be top 2 (they were good friends before AS3) so again dela has a higher track record and she wins
They wouldn’t have done the jury if Ben had stayed imo. The jury was a last ditch production attempt to spice up the ending bc they planned for Dela to win. After she left they didn’t have a plan so they did the jury

Eh she was the people’s Princess. She voted with her heart. Not with money signs. She kept her integrity and her friendships. And that’s far far more admirable than some stupid on screen title that means nothing in reality.
All the beggining of this interview makes me realize is, I really needed to see BenDeLaCreme continue further in the competition. I really wanted to see the best of the best in those final episodes. I do realize that if she had moved on, she would have sent one of the top 3 home. Probably Kennedy or Trixie. But the last challenge was an acting challenge which Shangela and Trixie won, but we could anticipate BenDeLaCreme being top 3 in that challenge. I'm just wishing it didn't go down the way it did. When I learn how to time travel, I'm heading to the sound stage, placing my hand on DeLa's and telling her, "Girl, don't do it. It's not worth it".

My question is what she would’ve done if she’d lost that lip sync?
It wasn’t mathematical though. If that were the case, Shangela would have won after Dela went home. The bitter jury decided to reward someone without the best track record. I don’t think Dela had ruffled enough feathers to get the same treatment Shangela got, so she probably would have won. But, as we saw, nothing was etched in stone.
Honestly, I think the jury tried to help out Kennedy who had been struggling, and talked about her time homeless, and so they set her up against the worst lip syncer.

I hate the All Stars Elimination system. Some queens are going to vote fairly, but some people will just vote out a queen that they don’t personally like. It makes it hard for the winner of an All Stars season to truly be the best. They should just do what regular seasons do and have lip syncs for your life. Those are more fair.
