    Best video out there on this winch. Thanks for actually showing it in use.

    Great video. I like the different angles. I recently put my 2000 pound superwinch to the test and winched my golf cart up a near vertical loose gravel bank. It was definitely hard work for the little winch but I could tell it would have no problem with lesser work. Obviously I wouldn't be using it for such extreme pulls all the time. Thanks again man. Love the videos. I think it's time for an off-road video so we can see what she can do

    4 yrs ago I bought 500 pound welder so got one of those from harbor freight and bolted it to a piece of 2x2 sq tube across the bed of my truck and some 1000lb rated ramps thats how I load and unload my welder

    your winch has slack cable from not keeping it tight all the way in. Going to cause problems sooner or later

  • @keithcarlson6038
    @keithcarlson6038 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    That's a hell of a golf cart, do you play golf in the woods? :-) So, 2500 lb rated winch, and pulling a 1000 lb cart up that ramp means it had to provide maybe 700 lb of pull when the cart is on the steepest part of the ramp. You've got a good amount of extra capacity, which is probably a good approach with a HF winch.

      Thanks wanted a side by side but there pricey so did my best with a golf cart to scratch that itch lol it is fun in the woods trail riding. As for the winch all is good but just know if the batteries go dead in remote your winch doesnt work so might want to wire a back up switch just fyi

      well because at that time of my life a used side by side was out of my financial reach. I got the golf cart for 1000 bucks. but since then I have sold the golf cart for 3300 bucks saved another 3000 and bought a used can am commander 1000 and I love it !!!

    Good straight pull test. If you load and unload that very often, i would suggest a snatchblock to slow down the unload, and of course to save battery and winch effort. But it seems to work good. I have a 9k winch, it has a wired remote, it also has the wireless option. Good backup. I would live in fear of a broken remote, a dead battery, or RF interference or receiver malfunction when used in treacherous off road applications. All of which has happened to me. I once was using the wired remote and the wires got caught in the cable and it sucked. so i popped in the wireless and finished the pull. I repaired the wired remote. I always carry as a backup. I was using the wireless and the transmitter battery went dead, the spare battery also was dead, so i used the wired remote. Just my experience with wireless remotes. I am actually viewing this vid to see if it had a wired option. It seems it does not. Only reason i wouldn't buy it for my bike trailer.

    Nice job. The only concern I have is with the battery on the atv. Sounds like the winch is starving for amperage and may become an issue if/when the battery is near it's life cycle. I could be wrong. Still a great concept.

I put a IIRC 6" Jakes lift kit & a Yamaha 570cc 2 smoker engine in it from a Yamaha 570 Exciter snowmobile. It needs a roll cage and front brakes really bad dude LOL!

      I just tried using this to fabricate a wheel chair lift for my wife. My first test was just to lift my self with one side of the lift. Very disappointing ;(
      Not only did the cable buried itself in it self but it had splinters in the brand new cable. What good is a winch if the cable sinks into the roll when your pulling something and then freys the cable? Im thinking of trying the next size up and shortening the cable so it can't bury itself. Very disappointed in this product

    I would not recommend this winch. I have two, one still in the box. If and when the remote fails you are stuck with an unusable winch because you can not purchase a replacement remote.

    • @AllThingsCool
      @AllThingsCool  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree my remote stopped working thought it was the battery put a new one in and it still didn't work. So at this moment the winch is unusable..my plan is to try and bypass the remote sensor and just run a switch

    • @BryanTorok
      @BryanTorok 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      HF recommends minimum 12VDC 12AH battery. The winch is rated at 10 amps no-load and 55 amps with 1000 pound load. I'd rather doubt that the ATV battery will run the winch for more than a few seconds. You might get a bit more with the engine running.
