Nice walk around vid of Bello -I've always been curious. It's nice to see the different neighborhoods outside of Poblado, I hope you can do some more in the future

My wife is from Bello, originally. But I met her in the States. My first time in Bello was in 2006, well before Colombia/Medellin became the tourist destination it is now. I'll admit, Bello was a little sketchy, but i enjoy my time there.

I like Parque Fabricato supermercado shopping mall in Bello. Very modern new community with many swimming pools.

    • @kari.hq.official
      @kari.hq.official  ปีที่แล้ว

Good area but it is generally far from the south part of the city.

    • @wickman.r4662

The mall architecture has many similarities to Arcadia Mall in Belen. Structural columns are ready to add mor floors above the existing Mall roof. More adjacent modern high rise apartment buildings under construction. The Fabricato is perhaps one kilometer from the Bello Metro station.

thanks for a really good view of life in Bello, I think we'll go look. We've lived in Sabaneta for 3 years and it's just changing too fast, too many new high rise apartments, no changes to the infrastructure, prices are skyrocketing, etc. I agree about Poblado, not a place to be walking down the street with your phone out, camera hanging on your shoulder, fancy watch. And the air quality in Sabaneta is the worst in the valley, I guess because it's at the end of the valley and higher up. Anyway, thanks

THOUGHT that passport heavy cameo would have helped your channel pick up.. bello is more family oriented to me.. is quieter there and the downtown was definitely more sure and family life.. fútbol parks everywhere.. Actually I think of I ever take my girl and son to the Medellin area I would do Bello vs enviado or publado and definitely not Boston/centro area. Heard Bello used to be more hood back in the day. And like you said it's more cost effective up north

Good video, and great channel, Kari. Yeah I agree, Bello is way too far from the good life in Medellin. I've lived in 7 different neighborhoods in the 13 years I've been here, and no matter where I lived, I always found myself in El Poblado, for the reasons you mentioned. I now live in El Poblado, have been in the same neighborhood for 6 years now, Manila. Cheers, my friend, keep us updated!

The hotdogs and salchipapas are ok, I never ate Vienna Sausages but know what they are since my dad's construction workers used to eat that stuff. But I really like the hamburgers, soups, arepas, and some of the fish when it is not cooked dry in Colombia. I like the cake dessert they have in the plastic container in the bakeries too, not sure the exact name of it.

What up brother? I see you representing H-town, so I'm going to assume you're from Houston? As you may can tell from my profile pic, I'm born and raised in New Orleans. Actually grew up in the Magnolia Projects. I'm 47 years old, 28+ years of military service and did 19 years in law enforcement. I first visited Medellín in August of 2021 coming back from a deployment and fell in love with the place. I met my girlfriend in April of 2022 and just proposed to her a few weeks ago. She's 40 with 3 kids. I have 4 kids. My plan is (before I met her) to retire in Envigado. I love that place because, as you stated, its closer to El Poblado and other more frequented parts of Medellin. My girl lives in Itagui and I like Sabaneta and Laureles too.
Bruddah, let's keep it a buck. Mane, me and my podna dated chicks that live in Bello. We been up there several times. Bro, you KNOW Bello is mostly HOOD- PERIOD. Now, I'm not saying that there aren't nice places there, but as you know from living there that Bello is cheap like that because they're mostly poor people living there. Ole girl slanging dem empanadas told you straight from the dome that if somebody get caught slipping, dey gittin GOT, no questions asked, ya heard me? We gon keep it one HUNNIT in dis piece. My boy's girl got robbed out of the earrings that he bought her. She was 'giving papaya', which she should've known better (I still think she sold them and not gotten robbed as she told him).
Its cheaper living up there and, just like in any other metropolis, mostly where the cheaper living is, crime is not far behind. You win the medal for living up there, brother. And your Spanish is WAY better than mine. My old ass is still learning, though.
The people in Colombia are mostly welcoming and friendly. I felt like that was my second home since my second visit in November of 2021.
I tried the street food 3 times, big dawg. Tore my stomach off the hinges, so my old ass can't do it. But I love walking and catching the bus there.
Man, thank you for giving us a good video of Bello and telling your story. I will subscribe and support my fellow southerner! Ill be back in Medellín in October then again in November, brother. Be safe, check your six and keep your head on a swivel like always.

That part about the girl maybe selling the earrings, more likely but you never know.
Got me thinking about a time when in Nairobi, Kenya street thieves were known to literally rip of expensive gold earrings and leave a girl with bleeding damaged ears. It she does not have any visible damage to the ears she most likely sold them.

I was dating a chick from Bello and I actually enjoyed the local spots (the zona rosa, Fabricato) etc but I will admit it can be sketchy and it's indeed far from Medallo.
It feels more authentically Colombian compared to El Poblado.

Para sus reportes, Kari debería tratar de no dañar la imagen de toda una población por un asunto personal. Bello es una ciudad de 600 mil habitantes repartidos en 100 barrios. Ahí, como Medellín, se encuentran todos los estratos (1 a 6).

I see why you moved, being a little more in a traditional setting, that is pretty up north for sure. You know how to move and its a good experience but yeah, the hood stuff and meeting people that are asking you for stuff gets old fast. Dealing with stratos 5 and 6 is not ideal. Good video. Been there twice and had my head on a swivel but these TH-camrs are just relentless on posting on how dangerous it is. You just can’t move the same and be reckless is the key to safety.
