I REALLY don't want to be an NCO. I have, as a habit, a rather low opinion of them, and this creed infuriates me both because of its superfluous length and its pompousness. I honestly can't decide which is more disgusting--this, or the DS Creed? Both are full of crap. And speaking of DS, one of the reasons I don't want to get promoted is because, once I'm an NCO, I'm automatically on the DS radar. My squad leader assured me that, since I'm in MI, it's extremely unlikely I'd get "recruited", but my time in the army has been one cruel joke at my expense after another (delays, pay cuts due to inept handling of paperwork, a sprained ankle, extended work shift while most of my co-workers got off--while still getting paid--due to COVID, the fact that nothing from BT or AIT had anything to do with my job, etc.) from basic up till now, and what better way could the powers that be cap it off than by forcing me to become the lowest scum on this good earth, in addition to forcing my IQ to drop sporadically? Chances are I'll (hopefully) fail for some other reason, but much as I want to, I'm not the kind of guy who'd fail a test on purpose. Hopefully, there's something I can sign if I fail it that'll exempt me from having to take it again, and if it prevents me from re-enlisting, that's an easy price to pay.
I know this might sound silly man but that's why its important that you become one, to help other soldiers not go through the same mess. You know what it's like to have bad leadership so hopefully you can show them how to be right. Good luck
