- Trying to get into the Halloween spirit with this VRC6 8-bit Castlevania style remix of Beethoven Virus. I fixed some tracking issues (I think??) that were made in the Mega Man style version. Way to call me out for them the first time, gang!!!! ;)

This song absolutely deserved the VRC6
I *always* thought Akumajou Densetsu was a better fit for classical music due to the former's heavy influence from baroque and this truly shows! The melody shifting to rhythmic 16th phrasings every 2 measures at 0:45-0:59 is magical to listen to, just like most staple Castlevania songs. The same goes for 2:38-2:50, too!
Yeah I think the additional channels of VRC6 really help with these, plus the styles are SO similar, yes!
IDK if he was sharp-tongued in his time or not, but I have to imagine Beethoven would be beaming to know his music sounded so good on fairly modern tech like it actually fits in with the game providing the chiptune sound to cover it. And it does. This could easily be adapted to a CV hack.
Gyruss had an OST in similar vein IIRC.
I wonder what these old composers would have thought about chiptune!

I think I like this version of "Beethoven Virus" more in the style of "Castlevania" than with the "Megaman" it sounds more classic and I think it would be like a glove in a Castlevania game.
