Respect for getting yourself into the 9s especially with not that much drag racing experience. I’m sure if Cleetus or James were to be there you would have gotten more pointers to get into the deeper 9s knowledge is a huge factor with drag racing

It’s the torsion diff causing the excessive sway up top. When you shift, it unloaded the diff and power alternates between the wheels. Torsion diffs are great but not for stick shift drag racing. Load needs to stay applied.
Good on ya. These modern cars are much, much harder to launch and run than the classic muscle cars. Awesome
If the Barra GT350 ends up being a hero car for the channel, I say it should get treated to an iconic Ford mystichrome paintjob.
Have you looked in to a clutch slipper valve? Not great for drifting I'm sure but for drag racing it's amazing. They're also adjustable so could potentially just leave it on the car an adjust it when you need to
Loving the drag content should definitely take this thing with Cleetus and his crew on sick or drag week 💯

Biggest issue you have is your running a gearbox and clutch setup that's going to take a heap of testing to get right. Many drag guys with manual boxes run clutch solenoids to control the clutch engagement. Maybe they might help?
Love the GT350!!! And the Supra definitely has a different tone now but DAMN IT SOUNDS SO GOOD!! Especially Up In The High RPMs!!!

That being said have you thought about maybe you got a fault engine , cuz it happened to me when I blew my 427 roush and bought a new engine , they gave me a fault engine , It only lasted month

In Australia you have to run skinnies with plies or slicks.🇦🇺 You also can't run 10s or under without safety
That’s true here too. Sub 10s will get you the boot without a cage and harness
@@runespaze (if you're talking about the USA) Not on newer cars, NHRA changed that a few years ago when factory cars started running 9's after they banned the Challenger Demon, cars newer than 2014 don't need a cage to run 9's, for 8's you still need safety equipment.
Amazing to pull a 9 with a manual and a circuit style gearbox! I'm sure I would have got a 9 even earlier with the ZF transmission but this is way more rewarding. So glad.
You should look into boost by speed to help with the launch

Very nice! I race out there also but its so damn HOT out I don't bother to go to the track until Oct/ Nov. Your car would be a good race for my stick shift S197. I wish they made that inline shifter for the MT-82.
I probably would have went up a couple psi in the slicks . The sway goes away do a hot burnout and send it . I run Hoosier QuickTime pros at like 17psi and the car hooks like a mofo

Some more seat time will bring even more quicker ET's and higher MPH with actual DOT Drag Radials. This will require taking the traction control off with using your right foot as the traction control. Boost controll on each gear is not going to make the car quicker. You should learn that launch control is the same as right foot management of the engine. Turn off the boost and practice right foot manipulation, you will find more traction with a quicker car.. Usually, after 500 hp, first and second gear is never full throttle for reaching the car's best potential ET and MPH. It is called old school non-electronics drag racing.. !,200 hp GT 350 should run in the 8's at 4,000 lbs. car weight. listen to others instead of doing the hurtful bench racing.

I think with a little bit of weight savings, better gearing and a good tire setup, the gt350 is easily an 8 second car

Obviously I'm a Porsche fanatic....but I have to admit...always thought V8s were the end all be all in street muscle. NOT anymore. I have become a huge fan of these straight 6 turbo cars. That Barra sounds so sick running out. This channel has definitely expanded my auto wish list.

Doing to long of burnouts can cause you to lose traction instead of gain traction. The compound becomes slippery instead of sticky. Tire temp sensors can help determine where to stop, or have cleet and the crew check it out. I'm sure it could handle the boost you had it at with a proper burnout.
jackstand could 100% give some setup insight.
If would be sick to put a Barra in the RTR drift car also just to show the difference having V8’s and a 6 in the RTR fleet
Less boost on lunch bring it in later like 15ft 30ft would have been better for the launch

The car getting loose in the rear end and feeling unstable up top. It’s not because you’re not running skinny‘s. It’s because you don’t have enough air pressure in the rear tires if they have not enough air pressure it’s like driving with a flat tire on the rear wheel drive they need more air pressure compared to a front wheel drive
