I really like the way these movements and techniques are broken down

Luca continua così, che la differenza tra una tecnica fatta molto bene come in questo video e una fatta male, è che così, come insegni tu, ti salvi la vita....imparando invece qualcosa di sbagliato non c'è una seconda volta...

This is a very good, clear technique. Mr Brown et al; you would use a different technique! The plus side of a knife to your throat from behind is that the attacker can't see your hands so you wouldn't sacrifice anything... From the front this is easily learnt and a very good technique. Thanks KMT!

these guys make this look so simple. However I am sure years of training go into having the reflexes and speed to pull it off. I have rheumatoid arthritis and is there anything one like me can do to have some skills? Tks

jonathan ramey DO IT. If you do nothing, you get nothing! Yes you have to train years but it´s not just you. Everyone has to train, cause noone can prefectly do selfe defens techniques after train them again and again. If your ill then start slow, but trust me the time will come when it pays off! BELIEVE IN YOU!

The main thing is clearing the knife....just repeat the movement over and over and your body will get accustomed then just kick in the bollocks if ness....but keep working on the kotegaeshi wrist lock.

I seriously recommend you do, Krav Maga is a really good Martial Art, and it is purely self defense, it would be demeaning Krav Maga to turn it into a competitive sport, like MMA, that kind of stuff, because it is a martial art used in the Israeli military, all militaries have a unique martial art, but making it a public teaching isn't as common.

For everyone posting uninformed comments, or asking questions such as 'is this effective against a professional fighter' or 'can I beat up someone with this technique'-
Guys, Krav Maga taught at non-professional levels (think combat, military, etc.) isn't about learning how to carry on a lengthy fight, but is a quick-response, attack-intensive system of self-defense, its core principle being survival and immediate diffusion of a dangerous situation. Strike and run, basically. No three hour-long boxing matches, KM is NOT about this.
All the movements and principles shown in ALL KM videos are precisely about this- strike fast, disarm someone, or if you're a woman strike, then run- quick self-defense so you don't end up being a victim, at all costs.
Those who want to learn how to genuinely become good at ass whooping should take up boxing or karate or whatever. KM is about something different, and knowing these things can literally make the difference between life and death, in a given situation.

If it wasn’t effective the military would not be using it.

Never let the knife come too close to you
Opponent can be quicker than you and can cut you

I feel this is quick and to the point where as BJJ takes more time to control, and wait for that moment to put them down. Would I be correct? There is much discussion with BKK vs. Krav Maga. I need a good self defense. P,lease lend your thoughts....
    Thank you.

+Wilson Chu there's an app for that.
also actual training in KM can go a long way toward answering these questions - the best best is to get trained in KM - it is really the best way to get military and special forces training and not have to serve in the armed forces. There are weeks and weeks spent on gun and knife defense. It is a scary world, and once that knife cuts there's no rewind. I always say the best defense is to not have to be in a violent situation - and there are many ways to avoid them. I realize your question is a year old, I thought it was more recent, but the info is out there and you can probably get a free month of training at a local KM gym. Look into it, it's really the best of all defenses - but you won't be fighting MMA if you learn Krav. You will be fighting only when you have to save your life or the life of someone else

... Krav Maga is just a martial art developed from other martial arts, do whatever is most effective no matter what it is I say ;)

It depends where you live. Some countries all they want is your wallet. If you live in a country where life is cheap they might take your wallet but still stick the knife in your throat so then you need to take action to avoid that.
