    Ooh! So many questions! How do you get on with towing a car? Love to see more of that? How do sort that at a site and what a great combination. Your van looks so cosy when it’s all set up! Great lifestyle! Looking forward to more vlogs. I need to kick myself up the arse and do some more.

    Hi Bob, noticed you have not fitted your winter covers on the fridge vents. For optimum efficiency Dometic recommend winter covers are fitted when the outside temperature is below 8 degrees Celsius. Trev.

    The left hand thread is a health and safety issue Oxygen has a normal right hand thread all other gasses have a left hand thread so you can't get them mixed even if your colour blind the nut has a notice in it also so you feel it if your eye sight is bad or dark in conditions.
    In industry the propane bottles are mixed with oxygen for cutting metal with a flame gun imagine getting the 2 bottles mixed up and lighting the flame gun not good any way health and safety for gas bottles I have just started Motor homing so I am watching your videos very informative
    Regards
    Roy

    Is the pump with the 12v plug and the Hoselock attachment something you put together yourself or did you buy it ‘made up’?

  • @TimmysFavs
    @TimmysFavs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    We have had a twin bottle gaslow system fitted to our motorhome which is great but it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find service stations that have LPG due to the current situation. It would be great if club sites could offer a refillable LPG pump on site?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, good idea, I haven't heard of any doing that. Probably too many bureaucratic hoops and prohibitive costs.

    i got a friend with a motor home he swears by lpg says its easier and cheaper is this correct? i have no clue? great video again btw im binge watching them all lol take care

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We all use LPG, normally in metal bottles, either propane (red bottles) or butane (blue). Think what your friend is referring to are refillable LPG tanks that some people use, which is cheaper to buy at filling stations than bottled gas.

    Hello I have only recently discovered your channel and I am slowly going through your videos not in any particular order, I know you say you use gas for traveling to keep the living area of the motor home warm and when you are on site and plugged in to electricity you use the electric for heating your motor home, I have a suggestion for you, I suggest you fit a gas auto changeover regulator for 2 gas bottles this way when one bottle runs out the auto regulator automatically changes the gas supply to the full gas cylinder meaning you don't have to mess about manually changing them over. Yes you would still have to change the empty gas bottle at some point but imagine this, you arrive on site you get set up and you decide to put your oven on to cook something in the oven and you have your food in the oven cooking and you are busy talking and you do not realize your gas in one bottle has run out and as you have to manually change them over takes a bit of time and also imagine it is raining heavily and to go out side you will get soaked. But with the gas auto regulator no need to worry about that just sit back and when that bottle empties it automatically changes to the second gas bottle, then all you have to worry about at some point is getting a new gas bottle for a spare. Also imagine you are on site and there is a local power failure and the site you are on is advised that the power will not be restored fully until the next day and you have your heating on gas at night and if you don't have the auto gas changer regulator and you find its cold in the night you would have to get up at night if its cold and go out side to change the gas bottle manually but not with the auto gas regulator installed it will do that for you. Happy Travels. Here is a link for amazon for aouto gas change over regulators /www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_15?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=gas+auto+changeover+regulators&sprefix=auto+gas+change%2Caps%2C239&crid=1343VN

      Good idea, and I have thought about doing that, but gas doesn't run out that often.

    I always lie your videos, but on your travels it would be nice to give a commentary on the way to the site as the Edinburgh site sounds very complex from the Caravan and Motorhome site directory ?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was going to do that, but there were a lot of roadworks and it would have been a bit confusing, not sure how we got here ourselves! The main thing is avoid is Lauriston Farm Road, which has a 10m length restriction.

    Is it safe to travel with the gas on?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joan Spriggs if you have the travelsafe regulator fitted, yes. It cuts off the gas in the event of a collision.
