#42 Hud-Son 35M Forestry Winch Pulling Down Big Pine Tree

Big Pine, about 20" Diameter needed to come down. Porcupine had done it's damage and the tree was gone. Used the 35M to give it a yank and pull it down if possible. At the least it would shake some of the loose limbs off of the top so when I sawed the tree I wouldn't get Konked on the head.

You had 2x the cable tension pulling on the dead tree, 3x the cable tension pulling on the anchor tree. The second pulley, or block, was just redirecting the cable toward the tractor.

The green block is changing direction, the one in the tree is doubling your pull. Not 3x but 2x

You did a good job pulling the tree over down and out with the Hudson logging winch. They sure are handy for gathering firewood and other tasks to.

I think the shorter video is better. Winch works well--the straps and blocks sure add to its usefulness.

I think your pulling force is only doubled.The pulley closest to the tractor is only a re-direction of force and not a force multiplier.

What model Kubota is that? I'm looking at the exact same winch and I have an l2501. Not sure if it's too much for the tractor.
