Yeah, and now look how far "journalism" has fallen. I know nothing of Kilgallen's politics or philosophy, but I feel certain she would be appalled to learn the depths of partisanship, sycophancy and rabid partisanship which her successors have sunk. They have become a fifth column.

Media mag. most from the Commonwealth have made sure the spirit of US journalism isn't allowed to flourish in it's own country: R. Murdock, Conrad Black, Ted Turner. MONEY rules the game now.

Killgallen was the sharpest one on "What's My Line". She was introduced on the show as more of entertainment columnist rather than the serious journalist that she was. It was in part, IMO, the attitude toward women at the time but maybe the show wanted to keep things light.

Here is why Kilgallen was not murdered:
    a) Her exchanges with Ruby came during his public trail where he could have come forward with any public statement he cared to.
    b) Her reporting was only going to be part of a much larger book on other trials she had covered, hardly an urgent expose.
    c) What the heck could Ruby possibly have told her that couldn't plausibly be dismissed as more of his crazy ramblings?
    d) If Kilgallen was in possession of any info that was going to blow any conspiracy and save the country, she was sure in no hurry to do anything with any of it. Perhaps her game show gig was more urgent business.
    e) Her death didn't come until many, many months after Ruby's trial.
    f) The concept of goons forcing their way into her apartment, with her family home, no less, and forcing pills down her throat is laughable.
    g) If it was so necessary to kill her, it follow it would have been equally urgent to kill Ruby, his attorneys, and his family, all of whom would presumably have been told whatever Ruby supposedly told Kilgallen.
    h) Kilgallen was hardly less high-profile a person than Kennedy himself. Killing her becomes another high-profile murder, meaning more murderers, more evidence, more suspicion, more cover-ups, more publicity, etc., all the last thing some "conspiracy" would want.
    i) How, exactly, did "the conspiracy" recruit the New York City Police Department as conspirators into the Kennedy assassination?
    j) In fact, the HSCA investigated her overdose and found no evidence for foul play.

The Mossad was also in my n it as well. Jack Ruby aka Rubenstein was running arms for Israel out of New Orleans and was connected with a huge fund raising effort for such down south .
Israel was pissed because JFK didn't want to export nuclear tech to them as he feared nuclear proliferation on a global scale.
