Brendan is as about as far from a pantomime villain you can get for a soap. He’s one of the few complex and well written characters from Hollyoaks. Though I do think they took it to far when they showed Seamus about to assault Brendan before Cheryl shot him.
Any storyline from Hollyoaks should be on here, they're always taking things too far, killing off every character and dragging storylines on for too long

Although EastEnders is the one I've ever watched and liked the most, in my opinion, it did go too far when they killed off Pauline Fowler. The fact that she was a favourite character of mine wasn't the reason, for I realise that I can't stop the writers from killing off their characters and in the end, it was Wendy Richard's choice to quit EastEnders, but it was in fact the way she died and the aftermath. Pauline didn't get a proper send off and the who-dunnit plot ruined it for us viewers.

The helicopter crash was like something out of a road runner cartoon. The hollyoaks Alien episode was worse than the very worst Doctor who storyline ever.

I thought the aftermath was a bit gory for primetime tv. 2. "Alleged" paedo in Hollyoaks who was a swimming teacher, and Gilly saw him and a little boy walk out of a changing cubicle. That fucking disturbed me for about a week after! Think it was 2007/08 3. Sienna and Dodger Twincest, Hollyoaks. 4. The current Corrie storyline of Paul being groomed by his paedo stepdad. 5. Cameron murders Genny in Emmerdale. That was horrible.
To be fair a lot of soap story lines are designed to show modern day life and what goes on in real like like in emmerdale when Ross gets an acid attack it’s been happening in real life and the soaps represents it
