    I take my Rivian R1S mountain biking and I love car camping in it. Setting up the climate to whatever you want and just going to sleep in the back with the seats down is the ultimate setup. Especially with the self leveling and the sound system. Staring up to the stars through the glass window while listening to some tunes rocks. I store all my recovery gear and sleeping stuff where the gas tank normally goes. I use the fronk for clothes and miscellaneous stuff in packs. So when I go to town, you can’t tell there’s anything in the vehicle (nothing to steal), I can also get away with stealth camping in the city because it looks like the vehicle is just there charging overnight. There’s a ton of other advantages, no Diff breathers needed, no snorkel, you don’t need a Jackery (regardless of what this guy said, plugging in appliances to the vehicle doesn’t affect range where it’s worth carrying a jackery).

      Hey thanks for sharing. I own an R1S and I did confirm what a few haa mention in some YT videos, that when using the vehicle outlets they used power even just to be on. As much as double of the power bank. So having the power bank save me a few kwh. Do the test en let me know. Just turn on the outlets overnight and confirm if you would lose power even with no loads (more than normal)

    Somehow this is the best Rivian r1t review I found

    The Rivian Pickup looks pretty amazing. Just sold our 2009 Escape hybrid, we Overlanded and used it as a work truck for 12 years. It got 25-30MPG for 178K miles. Unfortunately, the Midwest salt and winters rusted it out. It didn't power other devices, but newer plug in Hybrids can. We now have a 2014 4Runner however, with 33" tires and all our gear it gets about 14MPG. We look forward to the a new Hybrid 4Runner or Land Cruiser. Hopefully, they will come out with a plug in Hybrid version. Our daughter has a Rav4 hybrid that gets about 38-40MPG. My wife drives a Fusion Hybrid 30-35MPG with 100K miles so far. Full electric vehicles are getting closer to replacing ICE vehicles. Hybrids are a good bridge until the charging infrastructure catches up. Technology has made Overlanding and camping more comfortable. Purchased an off road camp trailer (not heavy rock crawler) that I've added full solar and batteries. Look forward to trying it out this summer...should be a game changer. Thanks for the cool review/walk around!

    Another great adventure and your smile is simply beaming.
    Opening and closing panoramic shots are from just South of Mt Baker, past Concrete, WA used to go there bit
    BTW, your comment on the paint. The exterior color is not a blue pearl overcoat but is actually a blue highlight in the base color itself. The luster comes from that depth provided by the fine metallics in the base. I love paint like that, where the more you look, the more you see

    The heavy base vibration is coming from the subwoofer under the passanger side rear sear. Its because the clips were not secured properly. Mine had the same issue.

      What it ended up being was something was loose in the door panel. Then the seat was misaligned causing the pass seat to squeak more than it should have.

    It looked like it auto leveled but you didn't mention it in the video. Really like the rivian vehicles. R1s is really nice too. I only had trucks for 7 years and once I finally tried an suv I love them! I still like having a truck for heavy trailers or throwing stuff in the bed

    I don't have any experience with Rivians so I'll keep my opinions to myself. But I do have daily interactions with Amazon delivery drivers and all the ones I've talked to report that their vans are always in for repairs and Rivian isn't in a hurry to complete repairs. I hope they iron out the kinks. I like the Canoo's.

    Why, oh why, did somebody at Rivian decide it'd be a good idea for the ENTIRE side of the truck - from the tailgate to the top of the windscreen - to be one piece?
    I get that there's probably clever stuff hidden under the bed so they don't want people taking it off but the one-piece design means it costs $30,000 to replace a dented rear fender.

    Well, what would it cost to replace the battery pack? Still prefer my Jeep Wrangler 2 door for $45k vs $90 to $110k for the Rivian though.

      Battery replacement seems to have several prices; 1) Dealer swaps entire battery pack for Super High price 2) Independent swaps with 2nd tier brand for almost reasonable price 3) Independent locates bad cells and replaces only those sub-assemblies needed for Really good price but takes a long time

      @dominicwilkerson 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is super future issue and hopefully by then it should be cheaper. The Rivian battery has a 150k mile warranty on it.

    If I was able to get a Diesel X3 I would have kept it. I got a 328d sedan one month before my local BMW dealer got one in trade. I was having electrical gremlins in my left rear taillight so I traded my 328d for a Model Y. I was spending more in charging than I did for diesel as I had to charge everyday versus filling once a week.
    Driving Uber/Lyft with the Y was nice because of Autopilot (though I had phantom braking on the freeway) and all the cameras and technology having to go to DC fast chargers everyday (sometimes 2x) was not fun. I also Lemon Law’d my Y because of my Air Con breaking 3 times in 5 months (1st time 22 days after pick up). I was unable to drive because living in Honolulu the glass roof (even with extra 35% ceramic tint) and no A/C allowed the cabin to get to 97°F with all the window down and outside temperature of 82°F. I rarely got over 145 miles on 90% charge.
