The exhibits in the V & A were TWO (2) travelling exhibits. On loan from other institutions. Who may well have stipulated that their exhibits should not be photo'd or drawn. OR else it caused congestion around those 2 exhibits. The V & A has hundreds of exhibits to draw. They are not being "mean".

30:10 - there's no point taking the batteries out of an electric clock to stop it 'ticking'.
Electric clocks don't have the mechanism that causes the 'ticking' in a 'manual' clock.

      Ours do.
      Easy enough to engineer in.
And pleasant in a bedside clock.
And useful in a kitchen clock.
Cannot imagine ticking electric clocks are that uncommon….

Please advise the brand/s and model #s so that I can avoid them.
JOOI - how is a 'ticking clock' useful in the kitchen? 🤔

Helps timing things like mayo mixing and eggs …. When your hands are full or sticky or reading glasses out of reach.
      Just count the ticks.
Or for when antipodean humour is blocking one’s view. Or patience.
      Count the ticks.
      Possibly.
      🕑🕖😬🕛🕡
Regardless, many electric clocks have an audible ticking mechanism.
If you choose to avoid them, knock yourself out.
      Free world, still.
      Just about.
      😉

      Sorry.
I just thought you might know the brand/s of your clock/s.
      Silly me. 😅
What is there to 'time' when making mayo?!
It's a balance of how fast one adds the oil and how much - not how long one mixes.
Mix until the consistency satisfies. 🤔
For eggs - or any other 'timer' related cooking process - I use an audible timer.
Just set the 'time' required and listen for the alarm.
It's better / more reliable than running the risk of getting distracted and losing count of 'the ticks'.
In the antipodes we like to use reliable techniques.
But, by all means, you do you. 😉😊

@@trueaussie9230"It's a balance of how fast one adds the oil" So, time based then!
"For eggs - or any other 'timer' related cooking process - I use an audible timer." Some of us don't neeed the stabilisers/"training wheels" on our bicycles, one device is enough :)
"It's better / more reliable than running the risk of getting distracted and losing count of 'the ticks'." A good brain doesn't get distracted, it handles whatever is thrown at it.
"In the antipodes we like to use reliable techniques." And a multitude of failsafe techniques and extra gadgets.
But, by all means, be simple!
