I need a video only camera for TH-cam content for my ag business. I will do a few interview type videos and some Q&A things. Mainly for shooting b roll type stuff for voice over work. I have a gimbal & slider this will primarily be used on. Would you still recommend the s20? How would you suggest I outfit it for this? I’d like to stick with one or two lenses. One prime one zoom maybe? Would I need the cooling fan? No need for monitor at this moment.
Hi, if you can’t get the x-h2s than I would definitely recommend the x-s20. Yes you would most likely need the cooling fan because it does like to overheat. I would go with a cage cage definitely. Definitely grab small rigs hdmi adapter as well. If you’re looking to use cinema lenses I definitely recommend the sirui night walkers. If you do decide to get a Monitor, the Osee lilmon 5 is a great choice for $189
Thank you, I really appreciate it. I love my x-h2s as well. To be honest man, that canon r6 mkii look like a beast. I watched some reviews on it and love the image you can get out of it and it does ProRes Raw as well. I love how powerful our cameras are getting.
Great video! Would love to hear how you setup/ use autofocus for video with the xs20. Only just started looking into it myself and having a bit of trouble figuring out the best way to reliably film - especially busier scenes like events!
Thank you, I really appreciate it and thank you for watching. I actually don’t use autofocus that much with the x-s20. 95% of the time, I pair it with a cinema lens. Only time I use it with autofocus is if I need a really quick talking head done where I don’t have time to set up a wireless focus
@@JaymesMedia thats good to know! i ended up using manual focus quite a bit myself eventually - feels like the the only way to be 100% sure! I just need to get faster :)
Thank you for the video so much. I already have a fuji xs20 and it's so fantastic. Do you know how much bit color and dynamic range of the footage Prores RAW when Xs20 External with Atom V ? Thank you so much
You’re more than welcome. Thank you so Much for watching the video. The ProRes Raw is 12-Bit and the dynamic range of The X-S20 is 13 stops. The DR is solely based on what the camera can put out

Thank you, I really appreciate it. I definitely think people are sleeping on this camera. For the price point and the features, it’s really hard to beat
Thank you for this video 🌻 Yes rigging a camera is a necessity for any cinematic shooting Question, any idea if with the XS20 it is possible for external and internal recording simultaneously?
I wonder whether the X-T50 will better the X-S20? Apparently it'll have IBIS AND the 40MP sensor. No idea on the price yet but surely it'll compete with the X-S20?
Hello friend! I have an XS20 and a Viltrox 33mm, in some tests I noticed that my videos in "S" mode, shutter priority, the change in exposure from dark to light environments keeps pulsing in a strange way, not being smooth as it should be. Could you please tell me if this happens with other lenses or just with this Viltrox 33mm lens, or would it be a problem with the XS20?
Hello my friend, I think it’s only the lens. Viltrox had issues with exposure stepping in their early batches of their lens set. They had to fix it over firmware. Sadly I don’t have my Viltrox lenses anymore so I can’t tell you if it’s a consistent issue or not.
@@JaymesMedia i will wait but even with that i can't decide if i should get the XS20 or the sony A6700 i want sooc film sims but also record handheld cinematic video, a6700 seem the best for video because there is a good stabilization and even gyro data that xs20 doesnt have
Raw video doesn’t work like that, Raw video captures all of the information that the cameras provide. It’s like capturing a raw photo. It’ll capture all of the dynamics range without compromise but give you more bit depth 12-Bit, more control of your image in the camera raw tab. While a log profile is really good to have, it’s more like a very high quality jpeg.
@@JaymesMedia Hi, Thanks for the explanation. Actually I want to get this or the A6700. But could not find out which can give me more room for highlight and shadow recovery like I do during processing a raw photo. People are saying for internal recordings 6700 has more DR with slog3 than xs20 flog. But with Pro res raw if i can get more room for recovery then I will go for this as my main use will be for landscapes with deep darks and bright sky. And i want to get the best results in these situations. What will you suggest?

Just got mine last week! Such a great camera!
It really is, it’s hard to pass up
How much record time in 4k24 before overheating?
I get about 30 minutes to an hour before it overheat
You forget the lumix S5, thats also the cheapest camera can shot raw via atomos, full frame, both great photo & videos.
You’re right, I did.

Do you think it’s worth if we purchased a atom V for external prores raw 12bit ?

It definitely may. With 40mp sensors it will definitely be an amazing photography camera

Clean indeed and that one dude has some nice arms

should i buy this or wait for the XT50? i want a good ibis for handheld video and sooc pictures
but is the XT50 going to be worse in video specs?
It may be worst but we won’t know until the x-summit sadly. If you can wait 2 more weeks, I would do that but if not, definitely get the xs20
