    I always enjoy your collections, because every single video featuring them, introduces me to at least a couple of new discoveries, objects, or ideas. I'm able to add to my own collection because of what you share with the world. Thank you for the opportunity to learn :) You inspire me to make my own collection video someday!

    Wow that is such a nice collection and tv/radio in the background really made this relaxing and tingly.

      Nah I think it worked out pretty nicely, It would be cool if you incorporated some barely audible at-times old time radio sounds in the background

    Mother of God, your knowledge about this subject is amazing, you actually made me want to learn more about fossils, something I knew nothing about up until now!

    • @SilentCitadel
      @SilentCitadel  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nicole Vai I love natural history! The more we know about where we've been, the more we can learn about where we're going. I could talk about fossils and aeons past for hours. Especially mass extinctions. But those are a bit grim.

  • @kayeff8034

    Fossils are so cool! I've loved them ever since I saw a fish fossil on a field trip to the Exhibition Coal Mine in VA. It's a place that I've never imagined seeing a fossil - on the roof of a coal mine - and it made me interested in them.
    Also, the leaf in the matrix-rock is SO CUTE! OMG!

    Hello, the fossil fish from 8:20 is called Knightia Eocena, it's about 50 million years old and comes from a fossil quarry in Green River, Wyoming.
    Sadly, yours is painted over the preserved skeleton, to boost it's appearance, since the bare fossil isn't that spectacular. The fins, body contour and the mouth are painted. I have 4 of those from ebay.
    I can send you 1 or 2 fossil fish found by me in Romania if you wish. :)
    Love your videos, by the way.

    • @SilentCitadel
      @SilentCitadel  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      cortexedge Wow! Thanks for the information! It IS sad that it's painted over, but I'm glad I know. Do you hunt fossils yourself, or are you primarily an internet collector like me?

    • @cortexedge
      @cortexedge 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      SilentCitadel
      Yeah, it's a bit sad...
      I hunt fossils myself, but in the past I bought some fossil fish from eBay, before I went out and searched fish by myself.

    I have one annomite which is opalised with beautiful apricot and green colours. I bought it from a gem festival a couple of years ago and it is all I could afford at the time. I love it so much, it is on display in the kitchen wine cupboard lol. That five pointed star would make a lovely ring. Your gold nail polish and rings work nice together :) Look forward to your vids.

      Deez Kneez Thanks Deez, and I look forward to your kind words. I LOVE those iridescent ammonites- most are from Madagascar. I would display it prominently too if (when) I had (will have hee hee) one of those.

    TRILOBITES!! :D Is that really big one a Phacops, by any chance?
    The biggest trilobite fossil I've ever heard of was three feet long and called (I kid you not) Isotelus rex. It comes from Ordovician times, I believe.

    My Dad grew up in the Drumheller area of Alberta. He has some fossilized dinosaur "poop". Of course it has a fancier scientific name, but that's basically what it is. I don't know where you live, I am in Toronto. I have also lived in Ottawa. So I have been able to visit two of Canada's great fossil collections. I also have had a visit to the Tyrell museum. I hope you get the opportunity to see these collections, as they are simply jaw dropping.

    I have a fossil, that is a group of annomites together, I think. I found it on the tundra in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. For a long time, I thought they were just shells, but I showed it to my Bio teacher a couple years ago, and he flipped! He asked me if he could have it! :p

    Just a cool fact the cut and polished ammonite has gas chambers that would fill up with water to sing and air to float to keep it stable and control its movement. I collect fossils and have liked them since I was around 3-5
