    Gotta love rain always makes for some great vibes. Since you’re so close you should check out the whirlpool hike if you haven’t, lots of stairs but a cool spot!

      100% and it's not mentioned enough. In fact! There are so many influencers that discourage the use of cinematic luts. I mean no one is telling them what to do so what gives them the right to tell others what they can't and can't do.

      Thank you so much! To me, it's the Sony 16-55mm F2.8. It's a bit expensive but the next best thing is the Tamron 17-70 or Sigma 18-50.

    Nice video, I try also a lot on my FX30. In the meantime I bought the 35+90 mm lenses from Sigma I series. But anyhow, I wonder which rain cover will fit better, the. Small or medium size ? Best greetings from Germany again

      Thank you! That is a pretty big lens right? I would get the medium size to be honest. The one I have is pretty snug. If the cover is a little big it doesn't really matter but if it's too small then you won't be able to use it. I got a small :P It just fits

    Thanks a lot, i've been enjoying your vlogs with the fx30. I'm slowly considering owning one as a first personal camera to start as a freelance filmmaker. I'm used to shoot with Sony A7iii and A7Siii and fx3 but i was looking for less weight camera that is as good as them. Cheers from France !

    • @noisackda2564
      @noisackda2564  ปีที่แล้ว

      What's up! France is on my bucket list :) I have a lot of family there and they are always bothering me to go visit. I suppose the FX30 would be lighter than the FX3 because APSC glass is lighter but not by much. Have you looked in to the ZV-E1? That's a much smaller camera, but then again it is a full-frame camera so the lens will be heavier. There's also the new a6700 that has features the FX30 doesn't have but has the same sensor but is smaller.

    • @CoachBay
      @CoachBay ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the FX3 and the FX30. Now, I am basically only using the FX30. The quality is amazing and the lighter APSC lenses help bring the weight down. Love the FX30.

    • @noisackda2564
      @noisackda2564  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CoachBay Wow really? That's great to know that the FX30 can hang with the FX3. Isn't the FX30 a bit sharper as well? Not like sharpness matters to me. I usually unsharpen everything in post anyway but that's an advantage for many as well.

    • @CoachBay
      @CoachBay ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@noisackda2564 Yes, really! The FX3 is better, but I only do TH-cam videos and all my recordings are outdoor. So weight is important and the FX30 quality is more than enough. I recently started shooting SLOG3. Still early days, but it definitely improves the video quality.

    • @noisackda2564

      Thank you! Are you preloading a lut for preview? I find that helps me out a lot with LOG footage. Also, get a variable ND filter and use that to expose instead of relying on the camera settings. It's a little ghetto but it works very well for me. I'm actually using a full frame lens for this vlog. The new Viltrox lens. I'm also using a peak design rain coat over the camera.

    @TimBrownTown ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I love that your family is getting more comfortable with you vlogging! Thanks for the tips too. I keep fighting setting my shutter at 100+ but I think the "rule" should be that if you're handheld you should just do it. Save the perfect 180 degree shutter for static shots on a tripod. We've had several conversations about it and you keep saying it but I think it just clicked for me.

    • @noisackda2564
      @noisackda2564  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's an overrated rule. For feature films under the perfect circumstances, it should be abided by but for vlogging. Naw, just crank that thing as high as you want. It makes zero difference. It's ironic that these influencers are always repeating this rule of doubling shutter speed to framerate when they are trying so hard to get others to not shoot cinematically lol. I don't tell anyone but most of my outdoor footage is shot at around 1/250-300 and yet no one is saying, Wow! That looks unnatural. Thanks for your constant support Tim :)
      PS. Family still hates the vlogging thing haha. I'm just more sneaky about it.

    • @TimBrownTown
      @TimBrownTown ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@noisackda2564 Also good to know. I think a lot of these influencers are cinematographers trying to teach people to vlog. I also have a theory that vlogging is not actually "dead." It's that the TH-cam algorithm prefers people talking about products so the ads will have more impact on the audience. Camera companies know vlogging isn't dead and that's why they're making cameras with vlogging features. I just saw the Fuji SX-10 has a dedicated "vlog" mode on the dial!

    • @noisackda2564
      @noisackda2564  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TimBrownTown I think you're right. TY has very little to gain from people talking about their lives. They just want you to sell stuff and use their tools. Makes complete sense TBH. If you're not a tech guy then expect very slow growth. You got to be in this for other reasons other than monetary gains.
      For me, I didn't even know vlogging was a thing lol. I just did this because I used to work for a TV station and I knew how much it costs to get a 15 second spot on TV. I thought to myself we have this thing called YT that is free. Why am I not utilizing it to document my family life so here I am.

      @@noisackda2564 it's definitely not about monetization for me. That's just icing on the cake if it ever happens. I enjoy it so much, I'll be making videos 20+ years from now even if I never get monetized.
