    With mine, when doing the first-second change when cold, I've found myself just letting the lever slide towards the 3/4 gate then pulling it back towards the 1/2 gate during the shift. Not sure if it's just the extra time this makes you take over the change or something else but it goes in better this way with no graunch. When up to temperature it's just fine.

    Cracking content as usual. I find mine is pretty good to be honest. 71k miles 4.3v8. I’m still drooling over the rebuild with the hot engine.

    It might only take a few shifts when it's 50F out, but I live in Montana in the US. It takes quite a while (15 minutes or so) for that 1 to 2 shift to be pure when it's 20F out! Not the end of the world, still love the car. Every car has its niggles :)

    That change, in the clip, seemed more like a mater of the clutch not being adjusted properly. It crunched, rather than didn't go in!

    Thanks for the informational session! Has any of your customers had issues with the reverse gear. I know these are issues from the start, but sometimes I am driving into a parking lot and about to reverse my car into a spot and throw it into reverse from 1st. It seems as if it goes into gear, backup camera turns on, and then as I am releasing the clutch, it pops out of the gear grinding it. Doesn't happen all the time, but now I am paranoid of reversing at all. TIA

    When I watch TH-cam heroes driving a manual, two things catch my eye. One, they all drive one handed and rest their hand on the gear-lever. Two, it takes them an age to actually shift the gears.

    What's the crunch noise as it goes into second?
    Mike seems to be suggesting "nothing particularly unusual with this box"? My paraphrase?

    Must say I don't have issues selecting 2nd gear as the guy in the video clip appears to have and also seems to come with the graunch.
    My car is difficult to select 1st gear when cold. When approaching a junction and needing to select 1st it needs the double press on the clutch most times for 1st to be selected. Once warm it doesn't display any of these issues.

      I've definitely experience 1st gear issues with other cars along with my Aston. I usually go to 2nd then 1st and never had a problem with it.
