I've watched a dozen different videos and this one is by far the best! Very clear direction and visuals presented in a way that even a first time sweater maker like me can follow along! You're a life saver!
Sewing is not my favorite hobby...the reason why I procrastinate for weeks before I finalize my knitwork! Now with this excellent instructions I got it fixed. Thanks a lot for your help!
After decades of unsuccessfully stitching my sweaters and hats and any kind of knitting projects, FINALLY thanks to Google and TH-cam, I did it without swearing or undoing my stitching a million times ! Thank you so much for your cleverness !
You've almost saved my skin! I promised my son I'd had his sweater ready this weekend, and have been flummoxed re sewing the horizontal piece to the sleeve. Now I can get thru this hurdle, thousand thanks!
So pleased to have found this tutorial. I've been doing this wrong for years, apparently! I can also see I need to improve my selvedge methods, as well, so there are no gappy bits when I pick up the little bars.
I was clueless and made a mess when trying to sew seams until I watched your video . Easy to understand and hopefully I can now sew my sleeves better . Thanks alot straight to the point
This is the best video I have seen for setting-in sleeves. Your explanations are thorough and anticipate the viewers' questions. The results are very professional looking. Thank you. Keep up the great work!
Finally I can understand how to get a sleeve in that looks right I have tried and tried , this video is slow and shows very plainly how to do it , when not very experienced it makes it easy to understand thank you very much
Beautifully explained and demonstrated! I love how you began at the center of the shoulder and worked each side separately, with the same yarn. Brilliant! Thank you, PatonsYarns! This is in my Favorites now!
Very helpful . Seaming the sleeves was my weak area After watching this video I have become confident & hopefully will overcome my shortcomings . Thanks a lot for the very clear instructions .
Oh, my gosh! I've been doing it wrong for years, just kind of doing it blindly with unpredictable results. This makes so much sense and is so clear. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
Thank you fort this video! I come from Germany and searched a long time to find out how to do but I din'd found anything similar in german videos! Now I know how to sew. Thanks a lot!!
I was doing this for the first time and found it so vexing I'd booked time with a teacher. Then I found this video and managed to set the seams in myself! Awesome tutorial, beautifully shot and explained. Thank you so much! Now I have more money for yarn... :)
this is an excellent video. I have looked at several on this topic and this one is the best. It is clear both visually as well as the instructions given. I found it to be very, very helpful!
Thanks ever so much for this video. Great tips and tricks, easy to follow (even from memory!) and produces the perfect result. Couldn't be more proud of my work - or more grateful for this video tutorial!
I cannot tell you how many beautiful sweaters I have messed up with bad seaming. I wish I had seen this years ago. I’m now just getting back into knitting and watched this and actually yelled “Ooooooh! Wow!” 🤦♀️
Thank you for your very helpful video. Very clear & easy to follow. Just what I needed in these covid19 times when you can't ask someone to show you. Much appreciated
I tried this several times without much luck, until I noticed the firm surface underneath the work. Voila! Now the pieces stay in place, and I can see where to put the stitches. This is a great video once I got set up properly!
I did sew up a jumper I had knitted I am left handed an my hands shake it’s a complete mess the sewing up and just kept going I can not understand why so I am trying to get it all unpicked , nightmare but as I said in my last comment I did try doing the seam on one of the sleeves that I had unpicked and even though I had pulled the knitting quite a bit , it look s really good so now busy pulling all the rest of my mess out and that could take a long time but , I do hope your channel won’t go off now I have got it you are so concise and easy to understand thanks again Jean uk
Gorgeous! Excellent tutorial! Thank you so much! If you see this could you tell me about the neck and button bands please. I have seen differing instructions about when to add them on and I'm not working from a published pattern ...in fact two similar patterns advise 2 different ways. Crossing my fingers you will see this. thanks
With this method, they turn out so professional looking and beautiful. I'm back again because I'm sewing a set-in sleeve and forgotten what length of yarn to use. Little things one can forget easily. I thought all this time it was double the length, oops.
this company is the best to help all the time and they did a lot of stuff for me and I'm sure they do for the other thank you very much for your best support anytime I call best company ever
Wonderful tutorial. Thank you so much. Doing my first sweater and I was as bit baffled on how to do this part. Fairly simple now I know what I'm looking at! :D
great way to sew the thing! Nice to watch your work process. As to the practical question I have - I m knitting the thing for a child and it says in there " Sew upper arm seams with duplicate sts from RS". Looks like a specific way of sewing. Do you know that one?
Hi Paton Yarns,Just finished my jumper with Ribs 'n' Cables for Men from Patons Patteen. Could you please show me how to sew or joining sleeves into a saddle-shouldered garment jumper please.
Would have been good to see how you have done the right side of the sleeve as your stitches are travelling in the opposite direction to the first instructions. Do you turn your work to the wrong side or do you start at the armhole and work your way to the sleeve head?
the edges of your sleeve look different, how did you finish the curved edges or how did you shape the sleeves? Can you help. it looks very pretty. While stitching the maroon thread hardly shows on the front side.
awesome thank you. but i have a question. how do you stop the shoulder part of the sleeve from rolling over once sewn in ? i made a massive mistake and wonce id sewn my sleeve in stupidly pressed the seam and have now ruined myb jumper as its flaatened the wool and look terrible
I've watched a dozen different videos and this one is by far the best! Very clear direction and visuals presented in a way that even a first time sweater maker like me can follow along! You're a life saver!

The last time I sewed in a sleeve or did any seams was about 30 years ago. Knitting things all-in-one is so much easier.
