You are living my dream. I want to through hike some day (asap) 😁 awesome that you take us with you. Excited for the next videos. Have a nice time there❤
TWO thumbs up!! Thanks for posting! Cheering you on! Looking forward to every video you post. Very nice editing… and your laugh and optimism are delightful, too. Hoping your knee heals up soon.
Enjoyed watching the video. Just found your channel I’ve been watching Sam and Moriah and Julia and Cory. Smart to head into town to get out of the rain. You have an amazing smile that lights up your face. It’s so refreshing to see you glowing and so excited about the trail. Be safe and have fun. Back to your videos!
Good memories from our thru hike in 2019 😀 love your upbeat positive energy and wish you luck for the journey ! A weekly blog video is a nice idea as too many vloggers produce too much and wayyyyy too long !! Your episodes so far are engaging and stimulating 😀 much appreciated!
Take care of your knees by making sure you have an orthotic in your shoes that keep you from pronating your feet. The lukotape will help with that too. Roll your feet and legs with a cork ball every night. That can help tremendously. Make sure to use your piles to take the brunt of your body weight when going down hill. Speaking as a hiker with knee issues, these tips will help
Who would have thought that you would be cold and wet in the desert!!! Is the Tramley with you from the start? If so it's great that you can experience this with friends. Nar Nar and Flossy (Kyle Hates Hiking) should be on the Trail soon, so more great hikers. Vlog & Music is a brilliant mix. If you were 200 when you last posted then you will be able to drop these vlogs weekly like 'Heading Somewhere' did last year and keep us entertained until November. Glad the knee has improved. With miles like these this will be over in no time. HRC on the PCT had a mantra of '10 before 10'. But they had a finish date they had to achieve. Are you going inside the Cave? 😳. You got this, good luck!!!
I 100% feel you. I’d do uphill any day over downhill. I have struggled with knee pain for years. But you are doing amazing! One day maybe I’ll be able to follow in your footsteps, literally ;-)
Ahhh, it’s so hard on the knees!! My knee is so much better though now luckily! The vlogs are a bit delayed for logistical reasons but I’m 300+ miles in and feel great! 😄
@@ArielleShipe that's a good pace. I plan on doing a thru hike in 2 years after I get out of the military..aso just so I can mentally track . When you do the vlog, would it be possible to say how many miles your doing in that area a day I'd appreciate it
New Scriber....as for your MCL, and if you haven't deduced this yet....try walking at angles back and forth downhill as much as Possible.....Even if the path is 3' wide in places....you may s@@ improvement in pain. Been there, done that, have closets full of t-shirts 😀 / Stay Strong Grasshopper, G~
Want knee pain relief? They have these Epsom Salts pads, you pour hot water on them, then wrap around your knee for 10 minutes, add some more hot water.👍
I wish apps like FarOut would stop calling southern California the "desert". Very little of the first several hundred miles is actually real desert. You got into a bit of borderline desert scrub at the 11:00 minute mark near scissors crossing. You'll see some more marginal high desert near Cabazon, and will pass through the very western edge of the Mojave Desert when you're walking the California aqueduct. Otherwise, almost all of southern California, and much of northern California and southern Oregon, is *chaparral*, not desert. That's why there's so much vegetation and more precipitation. You get to see a lot of types of chaparral on this trail, too. For example near Lake Morena and also just north of Paradise Valley Cafe you are walking in Red Shanks-Chamise chaparral. All the type plants are there, especially the defining plant: chamise, which is blooming right now with little miniature white rose flowers.
5:53 love the music, nice change of pace from a lot of the other hikers I'm following. I was section hiking there yesterday, would have been cool to see everyone.

2025 season is soon. Make those dreams a reality 💪
I really like the fact that you show tent set-up and camping sites 🙌🙌
Thank you!! Trying to find a good mix of showing all the different aspects of the trail 😄
Really joying you finally getting in this trail!!!
yay same!! 😊

Awwww, thank you so much! :)
I hope your knee heals up soon. That's rough when you have to start the trail with an injury.
Wasn't the most ideal way to start haha, but it's already feeling way better :)

Thank you!! My husband is doing the editing while I’m on the trail so I’ll give him the good feedback ☺️
Great soundtrack!
Thanks so much!! My husband is doing the edits while I’m away so I’ll make sure he knows you like it! Definitely the hardest part of making edits!!

I love Julian we used to go there every winter and on my birthday in June :3 their pies are awesome too :3
Aww love that!!

Ahhh sunshine and warm weather.... so jealous, it's raining and miserable here in WA.

@@ArielleShipe Glad to hear your knee is better. You are rocking the PCT. Love following along. 💖🌟
Well deserved Julian apple pies and amenities. Keep on.
Yesss :) thank you!
Good afternoon. How many miles are you and your group averaging each day?
Hi there! We were averaging 15-17 miles a day for this section ☺️
@@ArielleShipe that's a good pace. I plan on doing a thru hike in 2 years after I get out of the military..aso just so I can mentally track . When you do the vlog, would it be possible to say how many miles your doing in that area a day I'd appreciate it
Sorry about the knee, hope the rest helped. Didn’t look like Sam was having a good time in the poncho. JD and SD
Knee is feeling better for sure! ❤️
By the time you got yo the Hotel for the Zero did you get the hiker hunger?
Not too bad! I’m a few hundred miles in now though and feeling it! Haha
Great memories from my hike in 2020. Hate to say it....you stayed in the same room as we did....lol ~ LostAussie
Haha that’s too funny!! It was a great spot!!
Get you some Bio freeze for knee.,it works great for me,
I’ll check it out!
How do you get the music for this video?
I have a subscription for soundstripe and musicbed ☺️
more enjoyable without the music. love the senery,
it's pretty beautiful out here!
I don’t mind the tunes! Can’t wait for next weeks video!!
I like the music as well! Putting me into nice dreamy mood 😍
Miss ya! Hope you are well!!
Nice video, I like your use of music during the windy sections and that you show so much of the trail in hyperlapse. Hope your knee heals quickly.
Thank you! Feeling better already :)

Sounds like you have experienced it like me. Downhills is harder but I found this worked uphill too. Good advice.
Thank you! ❤️
Way to hang in there with the knee. The coastal mountains where you are soak up the rain before it gets to desert east of you.
🤗❤️

Thank you!! And so fun, that area is so beautiful! Hopefully you had better weather than us 🤪
No wonder you get so tired, y’all need to stop dragging y’all’s shadow along. 🤣😂😂🤣

@alomendo28 A.K.A (Alonso) is sending you the best vibes 😉 with your adventure. Have a great time
Thank you!! Hope you are doing well!
