When i saw diablo 4 annoucement i was excited but now when i see skill tree , how runes will work now i feel disapointed to be honest... Its not something i asked for but its a demo i know that and i hope that this will be improved
It's years off the release. The demos of previous Diablos have been very different from the release. The skill and item system can be revamped completely before the release
@@ezet They can also be made worse. Remember how cool D3 looked in the old demos vs what we got? Yeah, I don't have faith in Blizzard delivering anything worthwhile here.
@@MakaFanaTiko14 D3 is shit except few cool mechanics and gameplay flow. I realy exited that they reverted series to original style with some improvements from D3
I agree, hopefully they will be improved. I'm worried the most senior and Influencial people on diablo 4 are like 28 year old kids who've never shipped an award winning game. There's something wrong when no award winning or legendary developers are working on this game
my questions 1. gems - any changes? will it sync with rune word like having gem and rune in armor 2. stats. i find them less important in D3 if you're barb just dump it in STR 3.will there be stats allocation 4. stats requirement for items 5. item tetris/ management? edit 6. will the evade mechanic"space key" gain benefits to rune word or legendary item ex: increase distance, increase Iframe/ invulnerability, reduce CD etc. 7. mount - will mount gain upgrade 8. Companions i never heard them mentioning it
1. haven't heard anything on gems 2. stats have been simplified to just be "attack" and "defense" because blizzard "doesn't want people ot have to solve math problems to know what is better" 3. not that I'm aware of 4. going along with #3, I don't think so 5. items fit into their own slot, so tetris is not an issue 6. good question, didn't see it but I wouldn't be surprised 7. there will be different mounts and you will be able to customize them. I bet at least at some point in the game there will be "better" mounts, similar to WOW 8. I didn't hear anything either, but I think they're worried about making the real characters first rather than the companions
They should not be removed at all. Stats are the most interesting part in D1 and D2. This will play the uniqueness of each character. Ragnarok Online is very successful on this part.
They may not have the development kits for the next generation consoles yet so could develop for them depending on how long it takes to finish this game.
Its easy to balance solo and group play: You can create Mercs out of the classes and generally sort their skills and gear out. The AI will be the downfall though :) Also you can bring these mercs to make the party to a max of 4, so if you are running with a single friend, then you can bring 2 mercs for example.
I agree, I like when necromancers focus more on quantity than quality. A quality army never dies, thus giving the necromancer nothing to do but curse enemies and buff allies. A quantity army feels more like a necro, who has to build enormous hordes of weak skeletons to demolish the demons of sanctuary. Skeletons are just skeletons, not demigods
@@Darklight7171 I just felt like the skill set of the Amazon was so effective and using her was smooth and when mastered was outstanding.tje demon Hunter felt jarry and incomplete and the lots of skills didn't compliment others.
I little worry about low quanity of an active skill slots. Would be awesome to have some mechanics that rewards you for using a lot of different skill combinations tacticaly and more slots ofc.
@The Handicrapped Stain Oh fuck! that shit can definitely ruin the game if they won't allow PC players to customise UI to add more slots. Also I don't understand the reason why they willing to make skills dropable from mobs cause they already bound skills to a characters. What's the fucking point in that?
thanks so much for covering this rax! I'm also a bit curious, what are your thoughts on the current state of how they're viewing legendaries as being inferior to sets? Personally, i love the idea of sets, i would just argue to make them much rarer, as in even getting a set drop should be ancient+ and then you have to find an ancient version of it which would be even more rare. I suppose one thing i'm worried about is that in the demo, they said how they want to give more versatility to builds which i whole heartedly agree with, however it's how they're going to do that which worries me. In the demo one of designers showcased the wizard's teleport option and was giving an example of how you can wear 4 different legendaries to effect it, one costing mana with no cd, one teleporting randomly, one increasing critical chance with the condition of staying in the same area, etc. What i'm worried about is that there are a lot of niche and "Neat" legendarys currently existing like this in diablo, and rather than creating sets to be stronger i think that d4 should have more meaningful effects on these legendaries and not silly multipliers or additions just for the sake of, "oh let's nerf sets and give versatility, here you can teleport randomly when you're trying to clear a new record gr", i just really hope they keep the focus of efficiency mixed with a fun playstyle, and i'm a pretty casual diablo player, i've played for around 4 years and my main is only paragon 1900, i play each season for the first month or 2,etc. I enjoy these power spikes and getting great items that synergize in order to create good builds that will help me push and discover primal/"mythic" items, etc. But it was a long rant, so in conclusion do you think or trust that blizzard will accurately create fun and yet effective legendaries that can create powerful and unique builds? Or do you think it's possible that by nerfing sets and having to come up with hundreds of more combinations that most will be ruled out and that the overall quality of possible builds will be lowered as a result?
I see where you're coming from, but I would prefer legendaries being better than sets. The problem with sets is they are insanely easy to obtain, they are an outrageous boost in power (there aren't stepping stones, its like you do no damage then you're a god) and once you have them... there's nothing else to farm. Thats why I like their new model :)
From my understanding, the difficulties will come purely from dungeon keys, and the overworld will have a more normalized difficulty, with lower and higher level areas.
Did they speak on the difficulty levels? Are they going back to Normal, Nightmare, and Hell? Or are they keeping the Torment levels? Or will it be something entirely new?
I really hope they will put in the player button where I can simulate having four or 8 people in the room without having them in there. Finding teams is getting ridiculous
Seems like devs are on the right track in terms of making a right diablo game and not that freak show d3, but the fact that it's going to be released 9.5-10 years after d3 is a disgrace
it's no problem to me if groups are more powerful compared to solo play ... that's because of the buffs that each individual bring to the group, but the problem in D3 is that they add even more buff each time someone joins, these second buffs are the problem
@@duchailu They make it harder for each person that's on but you also get increased loot drops, enemy spawn chances for goblins, more chests etc. The same thing as raising the difficulty level. They definitely have a place in Diablo, if the enemies don't get harder when you get more people, you'd need enemies that can't be solo'd which means the game couldn't be done solo. On Diablo 3 I can carry 3 other players on T16 in season 18 as a DH using multishot, if I switch to my impale build I can run GR80+ with them.
@@brentmanke7928 the problem is that in D3 you are forced to play in group to be somewhat competitive on ladders .... if you're a solo player (like me), it just removes the fun out of the game, i'm mostly a non season player, and had to play a whole era in a high lvl clan to go from p1800 to P3300, which is HUGE for someone like me, but for 6 weeks i simply had no life, this is just not enjoyable for me, alll i'm asking is that they change that aspect of the game, the one where you can play solo and still compete a little bit with group players (not go ahead of them, because that would just not be OK)
@@duchailu They have separate ladders for solo, 2 man, 3 man, and 4 man groups so I've no idea what you mean by competing with a group on stuff. Also if you spent 6 weeks playing the game full time and only went that many plvls you weren't leveling the most efficient way or you are playing a class thats not very good when you did it - can hit plvl 1000 from level 1 no paragon on Season right now on a Wiz in 2-3 days
@@duchailu I researched all this stuff and finally tried for the first time on D3 this season and I'm paragon 1900 all done solo and that was done in 2 weeks while having a life
2 other classes. I say Amazon, Paladin, and possibly Necromancer. One of these can be DLC; not Necromancer though. Another class they can introduce is Summoner, a cross between Wizard and Necromancer!
How do gems work vs. runes? What about legendary gems? Would there be Ancient or even Mythic Gems? Will Kanai's Cube Powers still be a thing? I loved that. Would there ever be Ascendanies (like in Path of Exile) that further modify your base class?
I hope world bosses mimic Guild Wars 2 where it was a chain of quests that you could just jump in at any stage that lead up to a final boss. If its just a timer to a boss pulled out of no-where it will feel kinda janky.
I agree with pretty much everything you said, I think the skills system should be refined to allow for more dynamic build changes... having to grind tomes to change builds seems pretty terrible. On classes I think you hit the nail on the head - According to this leak from 4 months ago we'll also see the Paladin and Amazon. On release date though, I'm inclined to believe the leak: 'Early 2021' - I think blizzard will be happy to release the game with as much core content as possible and can add end game modes as updates over time. This is a common theme with modern games and by doing so, they can also open the comms channel with the public as the game will be live.
I hope so, legendaries rarity should be scaled the same as uniques in diablo 2 and magic find implemented, and mythics being even rarer, kind of like what it was finding a high rune in diablo 2
Hi, Nice and complete vid as usually. Any word about “blizzcon ticket wings reward”? Sorry but as solo player cosmetics and primal items are my goal mainly.:) Thx again for all info, other vid of yours about d4 too was awesome.:)
Did you get a glimpse at the changes to the sets for the new season of D3 what are your thoughts I don't think we'll get a chance to test before season starts but sader with Heavens Fury looks good
Sounds like it'll be like D3 before loot 2.0 - less drops, less money, slower gameplay. The D3 we have now is a million miles difference than when it first came out. Sounds like it'll just put everyone on a slow playing field until everyone starts maxing out their stats/gear. And in due time will keep increasing drop rates and power. Even the keys sounds like old D3, each key unlocks a specific rift rather than one key for any level you want.
I dont think the power creep will reach Diablo 3levels. David kim said they want to nerf and balance things between seasons, and they dont want the insane power creep.
FeelsTravMan only time will tell. I don’t care about the power creep as long as everything is balanced. But they had to do the power creep for D3 because how else were players going to get to GR150? PC players didn’t know the GR cap so unless they reached paragon 10000 there was no other way. It took many many years before they got to this point so who knows how D4 will play out. As long as it’s fun and diverse as they say it will be is all we can hope for now :)
@@Raxxanterax I was searching the web for streams and found this one. th-cam.com/video/jvNb8F2Ac5c/w-d-xo.html at 38:00 he asks about magic find! So I think and hope it will be in D4
Transmog is cool but one thing I agree with those who offers counter arguments to the transmog system is since the villages/towns will be multiplayer hubs, you might walk into the town and see that dude (or dudette) with this awesome looking high end gear while you wear some low level ragged cloth. You know that person fucking rules just by glimpsing at its character and it can make you inspired, giving you that much more motivation to reach that goal of being this badass character walking into town making others drool. It doesn't make much sense to have poor low end gear and look like a god. IMO it's part of an RPG that when you find a better piece of gear, you don't only feel you are more powerful, you also look more powerful. That said, I would be down for some esthetic customizations like dyes and accessories or maybe even a transmog system but limitated to avoid those kind of immersion breaks.
They said they were placeholders, but in general they want stats to be easier to understand so you don't have to solve math equations just to figure out what is better
Not sure about the reasoning for PS4 & Xbox One development if it is 2-3 years away, dev kits are out there already and the release date of an MS or Sony console is neither here nor there in relation to the development of Diablo 4 especially if it is not out imminently. My guess is that it will come sooner than expected, but they want to avoid disappointing players with delays, or this will be one of the last releases on that platform alongside the next gen consoles or finally it will simply migrate to the next gen should development truely take a couple of years or more.
I really hope the other class will be some sort of DH/range class....and my unpopular opinion is that in a tipe of game like diablo I don't love the PVP feature very much and the tipe of limitation that can put on skills or builds for something that I think is not gonna be the endgame or the game main focus
@@TheGargalon can you carebears just step off and let people that want it enjoy it. If you dont want to engage in pvp nobody will force you but for others its a fun activity
@@Nytukas If I don't enjoy pep that doesn't make me a carebear. But balancing pve around pvp in which is a first and foremost a pve game is never gonna happen, no matter how much you want to believe that 90% of people care about pvp in diablo.
I don't like the "eventually max every skill by finding tomes".. So every just need to find tomes to max skill. It is going to be like D3 again. No uniqueness on each characters. And also, are there any stats point attribute distribution every level-up like in D2, you know, the old str, dex, vit, magic? That will help to build a unique individual characters. I'm surprise no one ask that questions.
What we've heard so far for leveling up is a skill point, a talent point, and something toward a new redesigned paragon system (that won't be as powerful as the current one), but as far as stat allocations, haven't heard anything on that
@@Raxxanterax Thanks for the reply, you are the only one replied to me hehe. :) Yes I still like the D2 stats allocation and skill tree. Skill tree in D2 has much more depth. I am worried with their current implementation.
I’m very disappointed there is no offline mode. My work takes me away from internet access for periods of time. D3 will stay alive on my switch in that regard then. I really hope they reconsider that decision but I highly doubt it. They are not accounting for people who live in areas with very poor internet access.
If the best items in the game are bind on pick up, then blizzard doesnt understand shit. Everyone shouldnt be able to find every item in the game. That makes searching for loot pointless and just a boring task you have to do for endgame. And it sounds like items dropping in higher "quality" the higher you go, makes running things below it pointless. You need to be able to find very good items that you will use for a long time at any point in your progress. Also, this whole transmog thing has to go. Badass looking items should actually be badass. The greatest part about getting a very rare item is finally equipping it and being proud of how dope you look. Visual progress is an important element that transmog takes away from. If everyone is running around with glowing insane looking weps that they achieved thru no merit of their own, it takes something away from the whole process. If crafting isnt a true end game activity, its an epic fail.
Hmm... about the trading system, I never understood why use "bind-on-pickup" on a game like diablo. I, personally, liked how D2 did it, trade everything, equips, charms, runes... the problem was the hackers, dup itens and all. If someone can explain to me I appreciate it, but the argument of "You will have to play the game to get the itens" isnt good enought because you will have to play it to get the other anyway. I would rather balance the economy than the trading system. The exception is the, of couse, microtransation itens, like wings in D3, in that case I'm ok. About the runes... hmm... I have to see more of that system, but I would like more if you could make like 6 runes in a chest or something.
If you can trade items then there will be a black market of people paying real money for them allowing people to pay to win. D3 launched with the real money auction house to try and prevent the black market, but overall it was terribly received. Alternatively I'm of the opinion it just feels better to farm items for yourself and not have to worry about trading, especially without the existence of an auction house. I obviously don't speak for everyone, but I don't think diablo should be about learning the economy (especially since it'd probably be through forums and not any AH); the focus should be slaying monsters and building your character.
What 2 classes do you want to round out the 5 at launch?

When i saw diablo 4 annoucement i was excited but now when i see skill tree , how runes will work now i feel disapointed to be honest...
Its not something i asked for but its a demo i know that and i hope that this will be improved
It's years off the release. The demos of previous Diablos have been very different from the release. The skill and item system can be revamped completely before the release
ezet It can be, but will it? We need to be loud this time to make sure they know what we want to avoid another fiasco
There's something wrong when no award winning or legendary developers are working on this game
my questions
1. gems - any changes? will it sync with rune word like having gem and rune in armor
2. stats. i find them less important in D3 if you're barb just dump it in STR
3.will there be stats allocation
4. stats requirement for items
5. item tetris/ management?
edit
6. will the evade mechanic"space key" gain benefits to rune word or legendary item
ex: increase distance, increase Iframe/ invulnerability, reduce CD etc.
7. mount - will mount gain upgrade
8. Companions i never heard them mentioning it
1. haven't heard anything on gems
2. stats have been simplified to just be "attack" and "defense" because blizzard "doesn't want people ot have to solve math problems to know what is better"
3. not that I'm aware of
4. going along with #3, I don't think so
5. items fit into their own slot, so tetris is not an issue
6. good question, didn't see it but I wouldn't be surprised
7. there will be different mounts and you will be able to customize them. I bet at least at some point in the game there will be "better" mounts, similar to WOW
8. I didn't hear anything either, but I think they're worried about making the real characters first rather than the companions
They should not be removed at all. Stats are the most interesting part in D1 and D2. This will play the uniqueness of each character. Ragnarok Online is very successful on this part.
@Raxx Any idea if there will be some type of gambling like D3 Kadala or D2 Gheed? I haven't seen any mention of it from anyone.
David Kim stated that they were looking to use gambling as a gold sink during Rhykker's interview.
@@dominickgarry7842 missed that, thanks
Yes, there will be gambling as a gold sink :)
They may not have the development kits for the next generation consoles yet so could develop for them depending on how long it takes to finish this game.
Its easy to balance solo and group play:
You can create Mercs out of the classes and generally sort their skills and gear out. The AI will be the downfall though :)
Also you can bring these mercs to make the party to a max of 4, so if you are running with a single friend, then you can bring 2 mercs for example.
Pretty damn good idea
@Raxxanterax Did they specify if by PC support, if they mean both Windows and Mac?
Good question, I didn't hear them go into that detail
Hope the Necromancer will be back, More of the D2 necro far less of the stupid D3 one
Give me my skeleton army!
Preach brother
Bring back the Amazon over the demon hunter
Both have their strenghts i Cannot agree or disagree tbh
@@Darklight7171 I just felt like the skill set of the Amazon was so effective and using her was smooth and when mastered was outstanding.tje demon Hunter felt jarry and incomplete and the lots of skills didn't compliment others.
@@josephbrady711 I dont feel the same. But cannot argue about feelings
Hope they are making sure the game wil not lag in 4man party like d3 now with heavy " Area dmg " builds.
Very good point, yes
Rax great vid as awlays. Really hope they put monk and demon hunter at the launch
I'm wondering how the difficulties are going to be like the standard normal, nightmare and hell from d2 or with torments make a comeback
Didn't hear anything about this, so that's a good question
From my understanding, the difficulties will come purely from dungeon keys, and the overworld will have a more normalized difficulty, with lower and higher level areas.
i need AMAZON AND PALADIN CLASS NOW WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
A better option for a potion system would be the one in diablo 2...maybe consider bringing back deckard cain somehow to
Spring of 2022 is my guess. 10 years after D3 came out.

will they allow crossplay between systems?
It was something they said they're exploring

Paladin and Rogue would fill out the classes nicely.
Did they speak on the difficulty levels? Are they going back to Normal, Nightmare, and Hell? Or are they keeping the Torment levels? Or will it be something entirely new?
They only mentioned difficulty in terms of the keys for keyed dungeons, so that might be where the difficulties start to come into play.
I really hope they will put in the player button where I can simulate having four or 8 people in the room without having them in there. Finding teams is getting ridiculous

Absolutely no!
Seems like devs are on the right track in terms of making a right diablo game and not that freak show d3, but the fact that it's going to be released 9.5-10 years after d3 is a disgrace
Probably too early to know but hoping. Have they either confirmed or denied couch co-op for console?
They confirmed that it will be there :)
thanks for the summ up
You bet
it's no problem to me if groups are more powerful compared to solo play ... that's because of the buffs that each individual bring to the group, but the problem in D3 is that they add even more buff each time someone joins, these second buffs are the problem
these other buffs are just not necessary and have to place in a game like diablo

How do gems work vs. runes?
What about legendary gems?
Would there be Ancient or even Mythic Gems?
Will Kanai's Cube Powers still be a thing? I loved that.
Would there ever be Ascendanies (like in Path of Exile) that further modify your base class?
All great questions, I don't have info on any of that, more to come as they develop the game further
I hope world bosses mimic Guild Wars 2 where it was a chain of quests that you could just jump in at any stage that lead up to a final boss. If its just a timer to a boss pulled out of no-where it will feel kinda janky.
Nobody ask for the STASH storage set? How it will work? All the items inside will be available for all our characters, like in D3?
They did mention that the plan was to give you enough stash space so you wouldn't need any extra, so that was nice to hear
@@Raxxanterax yeah right....that is what they promised with d3 as well with "enough stash space"...
my question is , is it forced pvp or will we get a choice to opt out of it.. and as of classes ide like to see a completely new class
You do not have to PVP if you don't want to
Will they keep the buff only for re-balancing or move to a buff and nerf?
Can you clarify your question? not sure I'm following
The PS5 will release between October and December 2020, according to Sony.
lmao hahahhaha
I agree with pretty much everything you said, I think the skills system should be refined to allow for more dynamic build changes... having to grind tomes to change builds seems pretty terrible.
On classes I think you hit the nail on the head - According to this leak from 4 months ago we'll also see the Paladin and Amazon.
On release date though, I'm inclined to believe the leak: 'Early 2021' - I think blizzard will be happy to release the game with as much core content as possible and can add end game modes as updates over time. This is a common theme with modern games and by doing so, they can also open the comms channel with the public as the game will be live.
I hope you're right on the early 2021
It had to take you some time to do the screenshots and editing/writing. RESPECT.

i think some thing out of the box a reeper ,death eater ,priest ,cursed form with light and dark sides
what about magic find, will that be re-introduced?

What is the minimum system requirements to play Diablo 4?
They haven't specified yet. I don't think its known as the game is still being developed
As long as it’s fun and diverse as they say it will be is all we can hope for now :)
give us diablo 2 systems and itemization. we need that proper level progression with items tied to specific levels.
I really wanna know if they are going to be doing cross platform playability

if you can play entirely solo, then why cant you play offline? can someone with more awareness on this type of stuff explain it to me
transmogrify should be in it.

I’m very disappointed there is no offline mode. My work takes me away from internet access for periods of time. D3 will stay alive on my switch in that regard then. I really hope they reconsider that decision but I highly doubt it. They are not accounting for people who live in areas with very poor internet access.
Would you be able to get hold of some kind of satelite connection from work to get internet, like some sailors have?
