Goddamn you're lucky! Glad you're not too badly hurt. The moment you said the road was slippery as ice and yet were walking on it without issue I knew it was the tube gone. Happened to me too, tube ripped at the valve and it was just like you said - instant loss of traction and felt like ice. Very nasty
I’m glad you survived, I had that happen with my GTs on a big group ride tire went flat then lost the bead sent me sideways. Thankfully at a low speed.
Hey Duf, are you doing OK? Have you made any attempt to find the root cause of the spontaneous reduction in air pressure? As a 70+yr old rider, I find this concerning😁
Jesus Christ I'm glad you're alright man! I've been riding OneWheels for years (VESC XR now) and unexpected failure is the most terrifying thing that can happen, especially pushing 40-50kmh
honestly the thought of a tube failing randomly has never crossed my mind, this is scary to think about I think I'm going to get back on 2 wheels for high power stuff, though I'll still keep my v11y still because it's fun but anything more powerful is a nope from me atp also, can the odds of this happening be prevented with a tubeless tire?
I was about to buy my first EUC before I saw this video... there is NOTHING that you could have done to prevent what happened, I mean, everytime you are riding a EUC you are one flat tire from a possible fatal crash. Will stick to e-bikes.
Not the wheel however there have been a rash of tube failures on these wheels. Some have said the hole for the valve stem is very sharp and can cause this. I am going to investigate.
You hit the paint or bulge on the road, it happened to me as well and I felt dawn too. That is why it is crucial to have knobby tire and not street one, they have better grip so you can survive such surface imperfections.
@@EUCArmy Knobby tires, being thicker, offer enhanced safety. They may be slightly less comfortable, but safety comes at a cost. Inner tubes usually puncture or fail due to the tire's condition or design. Ultimately, it's your choice, but always prioritize your safety. For me, knobby tire is mandatory here in NYC where streets have so many potholes that in long run, it would be almost impossible to survive on street tire.
@@ThePawel36 on EUCS the most common failure of tube is at the valve stem due to the tire spinning on the rim. Almost every comment I see about a flat tire has a torn valve stem. Apparently EUC rims don't hold the tire as well as other vehicles due to the shape of the rim profile. There are a few new EUCs with a better rim shape, either the Blitz or the ETMax I forget which, but most don't have the correct profile to hold the tire well. Keep the tire inflated in the meantime and maybe don't use lube to install the tire to ensure it can't spin on the rim later on.
Jesus Christ and his angels saved you my brother, make sure to give HIM the glory and the praise that HE deserves. Just read Psalm 91, written some 3000 years ago, and you'll understand

Happened so fast, one second I am upright the next I am sliding in front of one truck and into the middle lane
Damn Duff man! So in your opinion...tube tire or tubeless?
@@Busterhymen892 almost all of my wheels have had tubes but I might rethink it.
So glad you're OK! Can't imagine how scary that must have been.....
Thank you Michelle, the answer is, very....
Dude! Glad you are ok! Could have been so much worse! Glad you always gear up and you are an advocate for it! Heal well!!!
Thanks buddy!
Go gear! Ibuprofen is the single wheeled PEV rider's friend. Glad you're safe.
Thanks, will do!
Hope you get well man I took a spill last year like you did totalled my Sherman. Lol I haven't been back . Be safe we enjoy yr content
That happens, people wipe out bad and never come back. I will be back though
@EUCArmy yeah glad to hear

Does not sound fun!
Glad your ok bro!
I appreciate it!

Yep, the valve stem tore at the inner tube causing instant pressure loss
@@EUCArmy we need run flat technology on these wheels. That's just unacceptable.

Nothing reminds you that you're alive quite like a nosedive on a onewheel.
I hear ya
I have crashed on my OneWheel but never a high speed nosedive
50 miles riding on that is awesome
All except for the crashing part, yes

glad you're safe though, careful out there
Never crossed my mind either, until it happened. Tubeless tire minimizes this risk
man !! Im happy that you alive man omg be careful
Thanks, me too

Well a tubeless tire configuration would greatly minimize this particular scenario
why this is not a surprise to me being the a Begode wheel?
You really gonna blame begode for inner tube failure👍

I thought so too at first but actually the inner tube failed.

cool so you lived up to your shirt, now lets see if blood in-fact makes that grass grow ?
I believe it does, grass likes iron
