    Hey man, I've seen a couple of your videos, well I mean, nearly all of them. But at the end of this video you take all the great info, and you make a suggestion for someone who just isn't sure. It was absolutely great. You clearly know all the packs, shared when and why you love certain ones, but you're not afraid to make a suggestion to those who might be overwhelmed. This is why I love your content. Keep it up! Also, can't wait for Fryo travel branded pack!

    I appreciate the commentary at the end about traveling lighter and knowing what you don't need to bring. The Aer TP3 (35L) was my first one bag, used it for two 1-2-week trips in the last 6 months, and while its carry comfort is incredible, I've learned that its admin panel and laptop compartment is wasted space for my use case. On the hunt for something lighter now in the 28-30L range!

      I was just going to recommend the ULA Dragonfly as well. The Aer Travel Pack 3 was my first travel backpack purchase, and while I loved its features, I learned that a lighter backpack is much better suited for me (I'm small and not able to carry heavy weight for very long). I have the ULA Dragonfly in both the 30 L and 36 L, and they are great!

    Spot on about these bag weighing concerns. I am learning what to pack in and how to pack my Pakt 35L. Recent trip, believe it or not, I had more in it for weight than my carry-on roller suitcase! And definitely something that would be overweight in Asia. But fortunately in this case I was going domestic (Canada), and over to the US and back. No weighing bags. But it does cause me to wonder what I can safely pack without going overweight for future International travel. One thing I have started to do is downsize my tech...a MacBook Air instead of a MBP, and an iPad mini instead of a full-size iPad. That change I believe shaves off a good 4 lbs off what I carry! Now if only I could learn not to overpack and minimize what I pack...

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I am seriously considering going from a MBP to an Air for this exact reason, glad to hear I'm not alone!

    As someone that owns a lot of bags, just about everything I have to say that if you are traveling and driving or just generally being in a situation where you aren't carrying your backpack a lot then a heavy bag is fine but if you are somewhere on a trip like NYC, go light, go as light as you can. Also make sure you have something with a breathable back if it's the summer. I love my Nomatic Travel Backpack but I would have having to lug that all over NYC when walking and especially if it is hot.

    Great video (as always) - I'm really interested in a travel bag. I'm aiming for like a 35L like for a week/more situations.
    initially I was really into the Able Carry Max, I was even willing to compromise for its 30L capacity but literally all the reviews (yourself included) say its a tight 30L.
    AER would be my next choice, but I'm already the proud owner of an AER CPP (which I bought based on your review among other and I freaking love it) and I would like to mix things up.
    Lately I'm flirting with the EVERGOODS CTB 35 - would LOVE to hear your thoughts on this bag.

    Also would be interested on your take on the Cotopaxi Allpa. I see them all over and don't really know if it is a local thing (I live 20 minutes from their headquarters in an outdoorsy state) but they actually seem like a really robust and interesting travel bag with a lot of flexibility and comfort.

    • @BillNelson-OU812
      @BillNelson-OU812 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I took the Allpa 42 to Egypt and Jordan for 21 days. I’m 6’4” and 275 lbs. so all of my clothes are larger than most. This bag was perfect. My schedule was intense with not much time for laundry except in hotel sinks. I packed enough underwear, socks, and shirts to have fresh each day and washed when I could so I could refresh in the evening when possible. I also used the Cotopaxi Luzon 24 as my personal item or daypack and it is what I carried to summit Mt. Sinai. Minimalistic but perfect. Both bags got lots of compliments from ladies who approached me about them. I’m definitely a fan now and will continue to use them.

    • @mitchellkirkham844
      @mitchellkirkham844 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@BillNelson-OU812 This is awesome, and not surprising in the least! The bag looks so durable and I like how it can appeal to anyone from the matte black everything crowd to the bring on the random color combinations crowd. And for those who love the separate zippered compartments on the inside I think it can be especially appealing. Many size options, great company culture, etc. Also a great tip to throw one of their smaller packs in as a daypack - I have a 16L Batac that usually finds its way into my bag on most vacations as a daypack. Sounds like a great trip as well!

      I have one. Enjoy it. Can’t pack my tech gear and clothes in it. 16” HP. Wish it compressed. Great for travel not great for tech and travel or EDC.

    • @BillNelson-OU812
      @BillNelson-OU812 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@mitchellkirkham844 I should add that I was able to carry everything else I needed several items I picked up along the way including a bowed musical instrument that fit diagonally on the right side. I used the KonMari folding method so I could see everything. On the left side I had a safari jacket for cold nights, a utility vest, and size 13 Hey Dude shoes folded flat for when I wanted to change out of boots after long days. As I wore items from larger right side, I packed the used items in plastic bags on left so that became the compartment for compressed dirty clothes. At airports I was never asked to open anything, probably because they could see the organization. Other folks luggage would burst when asked to open lol. The way the Cotopaxi can be organized in two clamshells with compartments and how it can still be accessed fast through a side zipper sold me and then it actually worked. I’ve taken these bags on smaller trips now and they’re really great when you don’t need to have as much stuff as well. Also, fully packed out the waist belt is essential for comfort and the shoulder straps were very comfortable for me with the weight resting on my hips while whisking through airports. A hip belt is a must for efficiency. I carried an iPad in the laptop pocket and all of my tech including Super Bagel converter/strip (so light and compact) fit in the top front of the pack’s outer and in compartments.

    great video.
    i wanna ask is the 35L aer travel gonna fit every airline? i can get the 28 but im a big guy my clothes are just bigger i think i won't have enough space with 28L.
    i was looking online found 2 40L bags both about 800g. they have smaller sizes. one is polyester with a face the other nylon i think but lower denier. i will be saving some weight but will they survive international travel? i think the 1860D cordura would be best but since i am one bagging will i be fine with lower durability but lighter bags?
    what bag did you have that got checked in?
    thanks a lot and more power.

    • @LieuNoir
      @LieuNoir 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      “Every airline” ? No , it really depends on the airline, each one has its own dimensions and weight restrictions, you have to check. For example, Ryanair is very restrictive.

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      dude it depends on so many factors - what airline, what ticket you have, region of the world, how full the flight is, the mood of the person checking you in, etc. For those reasons the Aer 35L will NOT fit every airline.
      As for the materials, yea you don't need 1680D, many great travel bags use lighter materials.
