Hi Corinne! I've been following your Cricut channel for a little while and only now came across this one for vinyl decals with window cling - I love it!! I do have two questions: #1. Does window cling, actually, cling onto another piece of window cling? I wouldn't go more than the 2nd layer, but an example would be... let's say I make a window cling of a red open bed truck, and I want that red truck to be used for each season. Could I then have little window cling pieces to put in different areas of the back bed of the truck like a green vinyl Christmas tree on window cling for Christmas that would cling to the back bed of the truck like it's hauling the tree home, green vinyl Shamrock's on window cling for St. Patricks, Patriotic colored vinyl flags on window cling for 4th of July, etc??? Would these work you think??? #2. Can we write on window cling with a black permanent marker, and it will stay on there if we want to customize a window cling? Do you know, or have you tried??? I'm so excited about this! Thank you!
Actually, the permanent marker would be used to write on the Vinyl that is stuck to the small window cling pieces, and not to the window cling itself. Just re-thinking that. Or the permanent marker could be used to write on a white vinyl sign stuck to a separate window cling, which would be put on the door of the truck. That sign could be changed out with different sayings for the different seasons. So the second question changes to ask if you know whether or not a black permanent marker can be used to hand-write on vinyl, for customization purposes? Thanks!
So sorry, another question (my mind is racing!)... would window cling (in this case, the red truck that is on window cling), cling to a refrigerator, metal filing cabinet, etc? I guess the proper question would be what "else" besides windows, do window cling, cling to?
Great project! I inherited a lot of window cling, in black and orange, when I bought my Maker second-hand (together with loads and loads of crepe), and was looking for a good, complex but not too complicated, way to use it. Your tutorial on cling is one of the best, honestly. It will take a while to get as good results as you did with these adorable bunnies, but at least now I know how to use the cling correctly. I wish you made more tutorials on cling, there are so few and most of them are about Xmas projects. Is it possible to add writings (pen, not sticky vinyl)? Most other tutorials use writing cutting off, I only want to add pen writings. Thank you so much and congrats on the results!
Would it be possible to use that same window cling with printable vinyl such as with a print and cut design? So that you don't have to use multiple colors of vinyl? Really wish they made a printable window cling material.
Do you find that the window cling shrinks after a few months? I tried to make some paper dolls with window cling so that they would be more durable than the traditional kind, but after a month I found that the cling had shrunk under the printed paper layer (with the design on) so they became all distorted. Just wondering if it would be the same with vinyl/cling combination?
Thank you for the video! Sorry if you mentioned this and I missed it! But what is the material that you use to make the bunny layers that you put on the window cling? Is it permanent vinyl or some other kind of vinyl? Thanks!
Can you show how to make window clings and car decals with photos? We want to make some with images of some of our cats from the rescue I volunteer with. Thank you!
I have a print then cut tutorial if thats what you are looking for otherwise I have no clue how to make the ones you cut with vinyl. They are not my style so I never learned LOL.
Take your image then use glue on back of image then lay window cling down to adhere on back of image and bam got a image window cling, I did this with fabric cut outs of a snow man lol
This may be obvious, but are you putting the window clings on the inside or outside of your car? and...are they going on the windows or car/paint portion? I'm wanting to make some for only 24 hours on a car rental for an event and trying to determine best options for quick removal.
Hey girl! Can you show us how to make vinyl or Mylar stencils? There doesn’t seem to be a clear cut version of anything on how to make a template on here. Some of them say the information of what to order is below and it’s not thEre so you aren’t sure what to order and the list goes on. I love watching your channel because you seem to know what the heck you’re talking about! Can you please show us how to make stencils reusable stencils, not with the stuff you can buy from the store but with mylar or whatever we need??.....that can be used over and over again!
This is excellent, thanks! Would you mind linking the transfer tape you used? I don't know if there's any difference in the types of tape available :p Thank you!
Just a question bc I have a bunch of window cling I got on sale and had no clue how to use..lol so could you not duplicate your original image and enlarge it slightly for black layer instead of going to Inkscape? Kinda like when you are doing certain kinds of fonts and there is a shadow layer behind...I know that is usually offset...but couldn’t it be done for image as well just not offset? Hope that makes sense....thanks for sharing...great tutorial!😊k
Love this! Looking for help on my project-I have a design that has layered vinyl that is actually layered on each other as opposed to your bunny which the layers don't touch each other. So one side of mine shows the white vinyl layer and the other shows the other red and blue layers. I'm trying to do this so it clings to the inside of a car window and then you can see if from the outside. I am having issues with how to get this layered correctly and adding to the cling material. Is there a way to do this? Or maybe I need to adjust my design to have the layers not overlap? having a heck of a time. Hope this makes sense and appreciate any help you can provide!
Basically layer it backwards so the top layer goes first then the second and so forth until you hit the last layer which would be the first layer. I hope that makes some sense
@@catherinetodd I have never used a printable window cling or even seen one I would just print on clear sticker paper and stick it to the cling you’ll likely get better results
Corinne, I don't know if this is possible but I want to take a 1 layer object and make a cling so I can put it in a car window. I see this example is multi layer. Is it possible with just 1 and if so, how? Thanks!
Why can’t design space become more like silhouette studios , you can do so much more in studios then in design space such as offset and more , and u don’t need a third party software
The bunny is so cute! Thank you for showing both ways to do the window cling!
Pro tip: Use painters tape in place of the transfer tape to release easier.
Thank you!!! I’ve been wondering how I can make custom window cling!!!
I appreciate that you use and specify USA made! Wonderful tutorials!

Very cool, but can this be done using cricut joy? I'm still learning my joy and don't know what all I can create using it.
Yes it can

You cannot write on regular vinyl or htv with pens
For the colors part of the bunny did you just use regular permanent vinyl and then add that to the window cling vinyl?
Yes

The back is going to be white but yes you could do that
it would be soooo convenient if they just made printable window cling

I havent noticed it shrinking. I'll be sure to watch it and see
Hi! I wanted to do the same thing using window cling for paper doll clothes, could u share a good technique?
Thanks! You are making me 'like' inkscape....LOL!
Going to give this a try., One question can you save this and use it again, if so, how too
Yes that’s the beauty of it. Since it’s window cling it’s held on with static not adhesive so it can be used over and over
Great video. Can't wait try making window clings now! :)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Will i be able to use this same method to make my logo for my business to stick on glass door or window
👍 yes
Cricut design space has "offset" that does what was just shown with inkscape, but quicker and easier.
Note that this video was made many years ago before offset in design space was an option
Thank you for the video!
Sorry if you mentioned this and I missed it! But what is the material that you use to make the bunny layers that you put on the window cling? Is it permanent vinyl or some other kind of vinyl? Thanks!
It’s permanent vinyl
So cute ! Nice video . 🐰 😊

My brain! If I’m using letters and I want the cling on the inside, do I need to mirror it
Yes
Oh my this was ive been looking for and wondering if THIS was possible. Thanks
i realize it's kinda randomly asking but do anybody know of a good place to stream new tv shows online ?
@Bobby Zachary I use flixzone. You can find it on google :)

These are not at all for cars these are for home windows. You can use vinyl on your car it will come out fine

I have a reusable stencil video. It's from a while back. It's just stencil film you get at the craft stores back near the canvas and painting section
This is excellent, thanks! Would you mind linking the transfer tape you used? I don't know if there's any difference in the types of tape available :p Thank you!

Permanent vinyl

what is a good PRINTABLE window cling?

Sure will

Yes just put the one layer on the cling. However I don’t recommend cling on car windows it doesn’t stay on through wind
@@CorinneBlackstone Thank you so much for the tip. So I probably want removable vinyl for a car window then?
@@michellebare21 do you want it to be on there all the time or for just like one event?

@@michellebare21 Removable and permanent leave adhesive behind. just use rubbing alcohol to remove any adhesive
