This car is most likely going to need some specialist work, if any brands out there can help support the restoration, in return I will create a video featuring your company/products and let you add your company name or logo to the car. You can reach me at grahamgreavett@outlook.com
Interesting that you’ve got the white dash dials standard on the S. Mines on 136K now and still bullet proof. Agree re the smiles and love it brings from people... I’ve had some lovely similar moments over the years. Fingers crossed it’ll be a great buy and you’ll keep talking about how it was incredible value to get this much fun and enjoyment for under 5K!
Hi Aidan, the gentleman who this car was first registered to added the white dials as an optional extra from factory, i've grown to like them. Well I think know the answer to buying a boxster for under £5k, you need another £5k to sort it out :). I'm ok with that as i'm documenting the journey for a number of reasons, TH-cam and so I can learn more about Boxsters for another project im hoping to launch in 2025, all going well. If you havnt see it already part two of this journey is below, thanks for commenting and I truly love this car. th-cam.com/video/y0b1hD0PzGs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2_BgI5eE_s330oqs
IMS is so over hyped . My 986s is on 78k oil changes always look for bearing wear. Only effects 8 %. Just make sure the car is well serviced & keep under 3k revs for 10 miles whilst warming the engine.
Lovely! I have a cobalt blue 2000 986S manual (just gone over 100k) and every time I go in the garage I smile - never mind when I drive it! Taking my nephew to his graduation do later today so will probably be pulling in among Lambo's and Ferrari's 🤣 But at least it's mine!
Thanks, i'm like you, I always find myself looking at it. I've even considered donating it to a museum if it blows up so others can enjoy its beauty. The 986 S is a fast car, I followed some on a trip down to simply Porsche, the cornering speed is unbelievable, it actually looked like i was watching a video on fast forward. I've got the sub frame being looked at on Monday, needs to be sorted so i can replace the suspension and keep the car for a good few years. Thanks for watching more boxster comparisons coming in 2024.
I would like to film a comparison video between the 2.7 and the 2.9, potentially both manuals if an opportunity presents its self. It’s interesting to hear your view as I naturally would expect your 2010 to be much better than mine, with no rattles. what’s your favourite thing about it, how many miles are on the clock? Thnks for taking the time to comment, lots of boxster videos coming this year, hopefully a 25 year anniversary car as well.
@@thedrivebygg it’s done 85k. Generally good. Seems to have been regularly serviced but there are some knocks from underneath which I will take care of. Such a lovely car to drive,. I know you will enjoy yours,

Nice. I’ve just bought a 2010 2.9 PDK. I will be watching to see how you get on as I know mine isn’t perfect. Some knocks and rattles from underneath!
