I have a pair of the DC 19A hearing protection muffs that I bought online direct from their Worcester, Massachusetts factory 6 years ago and they are an identical size to their prized pastel green dome communication headsets. I bought the DC carrying case, intended for their headsets, for my 19A. My mother has the tan-domed military version of the 19A known as model 9AN/2.
Here is an interesting observation on these earmuffs. Today is March 18, 2022. When I need an immediate relief from outside noise (for example, I can hear my neighbor's motorcycle firing up and he is going to be going by my place in a few seconds, or I can hear the police helicopter in the distance and know they are coming over my place in a few seconds), I reach for these same David Clark muffs that I have owned for years and years now. Why? I don't have to turn them on to get any noise canceling benefits, wasting precious seconds while the noise cancelling kicks in. Putting on these old style, non-electronic muffs provides instant relief from these kind of noise attacks. They remain my immediate "go to" muffs. If the noise continues, like one of my neighbor's dogs constantly barks for several minutes or longer and these David Clark's don't block out this kind of annoying sounds, I then turn to my Sony WH-1000XM3 noise cancelling headphones, turn them on, use a "white noise" app or a TH-cam video that has a bubbling stream playing, and go into bliss. But again, for instant and simple relief, these David Clark's are great.
