They need to have DC be an adult type rated R theme to them and then marvel can be the funny but sometimes serious. That would get DC to work a lot better.
Edit: Addressing the people in the comments, the reason I think that the darker tone would work on the D.C. universe is that it would give a kind of uniqueness to it. It wouldn't be the Marvel type comedic relief every 5 seconds. Some of you guys are also right in saying that some characters like Shazam should have a comedic tone to them, but it would be too much like a Marvel movie to have them all be that way. What they need to do is the same thing they did with the Joker and with this new Batman movie, make it different and unique, not like the new super hero movies where there is a joke to break the tension. This would make the movies more interesting and fun to watch, and give older comic fans a reason to go see their movies again. This would also give teens a reason to get on the side of D.C. more than Marvel. Sorry for the whole paragraph but just my thoughts.

DC is currently putting out a comic written by the screenwriter and director of the movie, and unironically it is one of the best Batman comics in years. I’m insanely hyped to see it on film. It’s called “Batman: The Imposter” and it’s great.

That game to this day did the Batman and Catwoman relationship the best out of every other interpretation. Overall I think it’s one of the best takes on Batman and all of his lore. It’s changes things/keeps things fresh, but still finds multiple ways to respect the source material. Definitely one of the best versions of Batman. Up there with BTAS
