They can't be dead. Viktor has to grow old and give Jayce the rune. Their death was never confirmed not to mention that in the interview with one of the creators he said it that it's "too early" to say what Viktor is now... Also I assume if Viktor is not dead Jayce may not be too
@augustussmythe8379 Actually there are several possibilities and as far I know not a single one was officially confirmed. That being said. 1. It's a time loop it needs to be closed either way. If Jayce stops Viktor from being a God than older Viktor can't exist to give him the rune but there need to be a version of Viktor that does that in order for them to exist in the first place. So even if it was changed Viktor still has to time travel. 2. Older Viktor talks about every universe and every timeline so has to give this rune in every single timeline. No matter how powerful wizard Viktor is it's simply not possible for a human being to do the same thing (or know) in every single universe because there's an infinite number of them. Which to me means either that every Viktor has to time travel in every universe at some point or... Viktor that gives the runes has power of a god and can manifest at at will in every timeline at the chosen time and space... Both scenarios hint of him having to survive. 3. Older Viktor looks human, or rather like that astral projection of his person cause there're stars on his skin..., and wants to stop the glorious evolution and yet he says explicitly that in every universe only Jayce can convince him to abandon his quest then he goes on to describe exactly how. To me it looks like he speaks from his own experience. Jayce stopping him at some point makes more sense than a Machine Herald randomly deciding to deevolve himself. Also I don't it was explicitly confirmed it was the Viktor from the apocalyptic timeline... It can be our older Viktor or alternate reality Viktor skipping timeline and just meeting Jayce there to show him that one. Especially since rejecting the idea that every Viktor has to time travel means logically that older wizard Viktor having the ability to travel between time, space and timelines at will is basically confirmed. I can be wrong of course because nothing was confirmed (including their deaths).
