I liked it because it reminded me strongly of my own NYSC, which occured in just such a muslim village where I taught Math to students(sometimes they had kids) who could barely speak english. They got that feeling and environment correct. Lighting was too harsh in many daytime scenes.
Yes, if this was a drama, it would have hit it out of the park. The treatment and little nuances went a long way! Maybe I can't relate as well as you did but it was a great job done
The shots tilted were intentional and it's called DUTCH TILTS or DUTCH ANGLES. If you watch at the beginning of her arrival, and during the festival, the angles and frames were regular until things started going wrong.
Well, every day we learn something new! And the tilt definitely did help with the mood, especially with the outdoor shots. Just that in tight indoor shots it was distracting. Just my point of view. Thanks for dropping a comment! Highly appreciated
@@NollyGoodFellow Currently watching the movie. Dutch angles are far too much and ineffective since they lead to nothing (disoriented me a little in the beginning...almost like my motion sickness😑). Tokunbo has a great example of their use....when the driver realized the girl was in the back of the car. It showed his consternation effectively.
Finished it. Good, but not quite compelling. The red herring was created to act as a red herring, nothing more. If juju can make a girl follow you, then why couldn't Shitta's juju find you? Juju must have rules.
My problem was that the red herring negates the actual culprit's motive as the culprit wants blood from virgins, which we realise those girls are not, at those points in time, because of the red herrings.

@EkwemReviews yeah for me too it was about how it was overdone.
