Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti Nollywood Movie Review
Nollywood filmmakers should start paying attention to that VFX of a thing......I don't understand why we can't achieve a 100 percent quality on post production.......if it is money.....then make sure you have budgeted every single inch of it to achieve 100 percent quality
Maybe it's also got to do with timelines. From what I gather Nollywood movies are made on quick timelines. So that might also be it. Just an assumption.
@NollyGoodFellow maybe that might also be it.......cause we do not have tons of VFX and CGI expert in Nigeria like you have in your country and south Africa....where 20 to 30 people can work on a project......and there is this lack of collaboration between visual effects studios in Nigeria to fasten project....I think this are the issues
@NollyGoodFellow that intro you are talking about was done on blue screen
Nollywood Good Fellow a.k.a VPN 👑💪🫡💯🇳🇬🎥😉
Momiwa means our mother. Daddy wa means our father.
Oh so that 'wa' suffix means 'ours?' I thought it was just an extension to the sound of 'mommy' and 'daddy'. Lol. Is this in Yoruba?
This needs more shares and views.
Thank you for the support!
I wanted a little bit more character development. More stories on their backgrounds
Fair point. It could have done with more character development and back stories. Though I feel that could have affected the pace.
So they actually spoke real korean? Interesting. I thought it was a sort of skit when I heard about it.
Lol yeah! Even I thought so at first.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂... 1:52

Very good🙏
Thank you! 🙏
❤
Thank you 🙏
Great review, as always. Well done.
Hey thanks a lot, Jamaal!
Awesome review
Hey thank you so much! ☺️
I liked it because it reminded me strongly of my own NYSC, which occured in just such a muslim village where I taught Math to students(sometimes they had kids) who could barely speak english. They got that feeling and environment correct. Lighting was too harsh in many daytime scenes.
Yes, if this was a drama, it would have hit it out of the park. The treatment and little nuances went a long way! Maybe I can't relate as well as you did but it was a great job done
Finished it. Good, but not quite compelling. The red herring was created to act as a red herring, nothing more. If juju can make a girl follow you, then why couldn't Shitta's juju find you? Juju must have rules.
My problem was that the red herring negates the actual culprit's motive as the culprit wants blood from virgins, which we realise those girls are not, at those points in time, because of the red herrings.
@@NollyGoodFellow Ugh..i didn't even catch that 🤣🤣 Though tbf, I watched it over a whole day while also cooking and doing chores.
😁😁😁
The shots tilted were intentional and it's called DUTCH TILTS or DUTCH ANGLES. If you watch at the beginning of her arrival, and during the festival, the angles and frames were regular until things started going wrong.
Well, every day we learn something new! And the tilt definitely did help with the mood, especially with the outdoor shots. Just that in tight indoor shots it was distracting. Just my point of view. Thanks for dropping a comment! Highly appreciated
@@NollyGoodFellow Currently watching the movie. Dutch angles are far too much and ineffective since they lead to nothing (disoriented me a little in the beginning...almost like my motion sickness😑). Tokunbo has a great example of their use....when the driver realized the girl was in the back of the car. It showed his consternation effectively.
@EkwemReviews yeah for me too it was about how it was overdone.
The last Korede Azeez's flick i saw, "With Difficulty Comes Ease" was so good, so i think i am going to enjoy this one. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for your comment! Yup, it's definitely worth a watch. Pretty different from With Difficulty Comes Ease but there's still a Korede Azeez signature to it.
I actually just finished your review 😅. This is one of the better Nollywood films? Ah. Did we watch the same thing?😵💫😵💫😵💫 The scenes with the dyed hair guy and Kelechi were so unnecessary long and drawn out with the exaggerated Igbo accent that I had to keep skipping 😩. Leo is supposed to be a red herring, but he wasn’t…so they could have solved the entire problem by simply bugging his phone or something to link him to drug pushers. They mentioned IVF at the very first scene so and I kept maybe waiting for pregnancy to complicate something but nope…it was never mentioned again till after the end credits when she got pregnant 😭. I never really got the idea she was a boss at work because that her Chief of Staff seemed more in charge of both himself and her work. What was the kissing scene for? What did it add to the thing? She didn’t agonize over it so why was it there? It’s like different parts of three movies in one. I don’t really find the whole shadow thing compelling, so I won’t even talk about that part 😫. Was this shot for TH-cam and edited on a phone? 😭😭
Looks like you wrote notes for your video here 😁 But I guess I missed the IVF thing or don't remember it. Some didn't bother me much, some I chose not to pay much heed to.
@@NollyGoodFellow 😆Haha, the first scene had her talking about how they're trying for a baby so they should try IVF or something. I'll let the public have your video and have a favorable view of the movie. Please don't compel me to do a review because I'll just pile on it. I'll let Kehinde Bankole have this one. Curious to see if the next episodes of Smart Money Woman (dropping soon)is worth reviewing..my fingers are itchy 😆😆😆😆 If they bore me, I might consider this one (God Help Me )
@EkwemReviews I guess my video being favourable is more of a reason for you to drop a non-favourable view. Lol.
@ Done 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😌
Ugh, try last night..couldn’t even finish watching it to review. Looked like it was shot through a Snapchat filter. The colour grading was too distracting for me
Snapchat filter 🤣 Wasn't too jarring for me though. Finish watching it and put up your review. I'm sure you'll have a lot to talk about!
It was BAD! I felt I did myself a great injustice by watching it. The interpretation of the story was haphazard. Very disappointing.
Really bad! I had to go Google the incident after the movie to get some context of what really happened. And that was a lot more thrilling
Play Network lost it after Living in Bondage..😂😂
I even enjoyed Blood Vessel. This was too bad though. Lol
@NollyGoodFellow blood vessel had sound issues as with many Play Network movies asides LIB. It's funny, because they set the bar high with LIB, raised our expectations, only to dash it against the rocks again and again
Thank you for the review. We are glad you enjoyed Offshoot.
Thank you for the movie and dropping by to leave a comment. It's very encouraging!
overall this movie didn't make alot of sense they could've just negotiated for fuel for the life of the chinese ambassadors son but it was an okay movie
True true! The movie didn't even try to make sense. Lol
Lol I don't know what to say 😅
😁 I actually tried and gave up
This review was unintentionally funny! 'They announced it to the passengers' and 'He just gets petrol out of nowhere' cracked me up. This is the most enjoyable negative review I've 'enjoyed'
Thank you Kehinde! Btw, the intention was to be funny 😭
Bus drivers? Fuel to Frankfurt? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The movie hurt me so much I just decided to skip some parts of the review as I couldn’t understand or explain what I was seeing
Hahaha. Yeah it's one of those 'switch to porn if someone walks in cos it's easier to explain' kinda movies.

Same here. I decided to finish it after two days because I had a little hope. There were so many loopholes. It was bad...just bad.

How did you have this up so fast?!! Good going.
Hahaha. Well, for this I actually had more time as this released on a Thursday as opposed to usual Friday releases. Thank you and looking forward to your take on the movie too!

Please the song play in the movie. Where can I get it
I asked the Music Director, Ava Momoh on Twitter and his response was: I think they are referring to "surulere" by fireboy dml. I don't think it's out yet. But I'm sure it will be soon
I really want to see this, heard so much about it
It's definitely a good watch!
Just one small Notification... INSIDE LIFE Screenplay was Written by Olamide Kuti and Tonia Chukwurah ..but Loved your Review. .. everything You Said was actually on Point 👌
My apologies for missing out Olamide and Tonia in the screenplay credits! Thanks for leaving a comment. Highly appreciated!
Love it🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hey thank you!!!
Interesting!
Thanks!
2:37 I totally agree. Even as a Nigerian it felt like the theme of the movie changed way too suddenly. There was not much to prepare one for that amount of physical manifestation of the supernatural. Sure there were allusions to the supernatural right opening scene, but not at all in that style. It felt like a traditional movie suddenly wanted to be fantasy film halfway through. It was also a bit slowly paced.
I'm glad you agree. My issue though was actually more than the change of theme. It was that spirits and supernatural take away from the very point of an ordinary person taking on the powerful. Anyway hope part 2 clears some doubts.
Great insights, as usual. Warm regards.
Thanks Jamaal! Thanks for always being so supportive! 🙏
Very great points, watching nollywood is watching another view of life
Absolutely! Also the volume of Nollywood available helps you live those lives vicariously. Thanks for your comment!
Hope you enjoy the video. Do feel free to drop more reasons in the comments, if you have any.

🙏 thanks for liking the video
I respectfully disagree with your review. While everyone's entitled to their opinion, I found your criticism to be overly harsh and one-sided. Lateef Adedimeji's performance deserved more recognition. I'm glad I watched Lisabi before reading your review, as it would have unfairly influenced my expectations. This movie shines with simplicity, captivating customs, and a powerful message. Don't let biased reviews deter you! Watch Lisabi and form your own opinion. The unique storytelling, exceptional acting, and beautiful cinematography make it a must-see. Let's encourage diverse perspectives and not mislead others. Lisabi deserves appreciation for its artistic value and cultural significance. Watch it and form your own opinion!
Thanks for your comment despite disagreeing. I feel it's important to have all sides.
Hello, thanks for engaging with my own review. It was such a great disservice! It pissed me off so much trying to find a VPN to watch it. The spirit thing wasn’t nice at all and everyone was toooo talkative. I will watch and review Jagun Jagun next as it’s from the same director.
Hahaha! Thanks Ekwe and good job with your review too! Looking forward to your Jagun Jagun review. Considering your reviewing style, you should get a lot to talk about.
good review. weldone!

You are very correct sir . I thought i was the only one thinking that way but coming from a foreigner I believe I am Right.
Thanks for leaving a comment! Btw do you think it's a good thing or bad thing? The way in which Nollywood is moving.
How much passion goes into creating a full feature length cinema, especially with optimal resources. Lovely interview!
Thank you! The resourcefulness of Nollywood is indeed praiseworthy. And as Dr. Haynes points out in the interview, maybe not in this edit, their resiliency is unmatched.
This is a very good interview
Thank you! Though we owe it to the man.
Wow. I just watched a clamity of a movie. I think the only reasonable explanation it is that there were issues behind the scenes which affected all apects of the film making, that compromise the overall outcome for the movie.
Yeah agree. Something seems to have terribly gone wrong.
I just finished seeing the movie and I just want to say that this movie is THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME since I started seeing Nollywood movies. P.s I’ll be pasting this comment on every channel this movie is linked to. Christ, I feel like meeting everyone involved in this movie and hugging them one after the other..
I’m laughing at it being Bollywood ish 😂
Do you agree though? I think it's pretty accurate. Lol
